They told me it would be $175 originally but ended up charging me $50. I tried to pay with a $100 bill. They didn't have change so I said I would bring it back. They called me 3 times!!!! "When are you bringing the $50?" I was gone 2 hours! They sure did pick up the phone to "remind" me to come back and pay but couldn't do that when I was wondering where my paperwork was? Never again.

That might be fine for some people, but I like doing my taxes with the person and seeing the results on the screen right in front of me. Paul told me they no longer do it that way and I should have read the communication they sent out. I started to try to explain parts of my return and he was making some notes on a post-it! Then he wrote something down wrong. He completely lacked customer service skills and was very rude. I picked up my stuff and left. Never to return again. Do not get your taxes done here, terrible experience. Cathy did a much better job.

She is very friendly, personable and informative. I've also used her in the past, and so have my parents. We are always very happy with the service we get from Kathy at H&R Block. I used Turbo Tax last year, but wasn't confident that I did everything correctly. Kathy offered to check last year's return for free. It is easy and convenient to make an appointment online. During busy tax season I needed an evening appointment and was able to get in within a week. Getting our taxes done at HR Block was more expensive than TurboTax. I've used them at least 3 times, and it is usually in the $250 range to file both my state and federal returns combined. But it is totally worth the peace of mind that no stone will be left unturned.

The first thing the guy said was that this location was one of the better ones because they handled more complicated tax preparation. Yet, he informed me that my husband and my taxes were fairly straight forward. He did our taxes and told us our refund...we were very happy with the amount we were going to get back. We left all smiles. The next day, he called to tell us that he was using outdated information and our refund was really going to be about a third of what he originally told us. When we asked for a refund, he said the best he could do would be to do our taxes for free next year. I think not!! Beware they H&R Block hype. Go to a real accountant or just do your own taxes.

On the day of my appointment, John was able to knock out my mom's taxes in an hour or less. I'm almost considering having Lee Mandel & Associates do my own taxes next year! Money and time well spent here.

From the moment I arrived there, the setup was strange where there's a conjoined round table consisting of all Caucasian women. I came in for my interview on time, but I had to wait until they finished their group discussions about other people that they have interviewed which could have been discussed when I wasn't there. During the hour-long interview, I can't help but notice that this agency is "religion-based" (Evangelical Christian). I am a practicing Catholic, but I felt that we should be focusing more on my skills, professional/educational backgrounds, and potentials. It was so cringy as I felt like I was getting recruited to be a part of a ministry or cult. Also, I felt so uncomfortable getting interviewed while there are several conversations going on in the background. I tried to follow up with two of their associates and I never heard back from them which is a blessing in disguise as I would have not been a good fit and I personally wouldn't be happy in the long run. In all honesty this is not a reputable agency, and the Department of Labor should probably look into their practice. For someone who has a background in Human Resources, in my opinion, an agency should practice fairness and equity and Theophany Staffing missed the mark.
