Me and my family have been coming here for years. Dr products are the only thing that works for me. All the over the counter things and gimmicks don't do anything long term for your skin issues. His products are pure and formulated by clear complexions. You won't find anything like it. Don't let the office itself fool you just because they don't have marble floors and the latest interior. Please don't go here. All they try to do is sell you products that they created! He spent 20 minutes talking to me about the history of the office! The doctor also didn't even know what to prescribe me and instead asked the RECEPTIONIST about what would be good options for me. Before leaving I had one more thing I need to ask him about which only would have taken 5 minutes but he told the receptionist that be "already met with a lot of patients today and wants me to come back later." Hes such a waste of time. If you have acne or any other type of issue please go somewhere else. I had no choice but to go here because of my insurance. If I could give this place a negative rating I DEFINITELY would! The doctor did not listen to anything I said about my skin. He was against antibiotics, which I am not a huge fan of, but I know they can work wonders. He, however, insisted that we use a peroxide cleanser and a bunch of other junk, yes junk, on my face. This was after I told him that I have extremely sensitive skin, but he insisted that I would be okay. This crap turned my skin into a red, irritated mess with skin constantly peeling. But this isn't the end of it. The doctor suggests you get "medical facials"... there is nothing facial about it. The "esthetician" would clean and then poke at your face with needles to extract the acne. Then, if you have a really big one, she will insert steroids into your face with a needle. The steroid injection does work, however, a little too well and can cause your skin to pucker leaving HORRIBLE marks that look like acne scars (potholes). Luckily, they will go away one day (it took months for mine to go away). I left this place with acne scarring (I have very fair skin) and puckered skin. DO NOT GO HERE! GO TO ADVANCE DERMATOLOGY!!!!!! read more

The doctors skin care products are AMAZING, the people on here complaining are ridiculous, you'd rather buy online instead of with the doctor who makes the products then thats your choice. The doctor is professional and every product I purchase does wonders for my skin and my family's skin, I ship his products out if town to friends and family. After trying several dermatologists and endocrinologists that couldn't do much for my adult, hormonal medium acne on face, chest and back who's conclusion in the end was to put me on birth control (which I refused) I finally found this amazing place! Rustic yet effective I am so pleased to say that after years of struggling with acne I have made huge improvements! I was so scared to trust the doctor just from these reviews. I've loved the 2 face washes I've been using and the moisturizer. The main reason for me going to this office though is for the facials. They actually do a lot of extractions and after not going for a few months, my face looks pretty darn clear and all I've been using is their products. HIGHLY recommend!! read more

Love the products they have for skin care. I use their Medicated Scrub wash, and it gives amazing results. I haven't found anything that works so well on my skin. The prices are a little high for face wash, but worth it for great skin. An 8oz bottle costs about $31, but it lasts a long time. They offer acne treatment services as well, and I know it used to be covered under BCBS, so if it still is, then you should try it because it works really well. I just want to add that I resumed using this product after I started breaking out the last couple of weeks, and my skin is amazing. No breakouts and its become very smooth. read more

I know, I know.. why the heck am I gonna go to get a medical facial. Alot of people ask me that. Maybe it's because of my metrosexuality. Maybe it's because I'm vain. Or maybe it's because I just want to keep myself looking young cuz I hit the big 3.0. WHAAAAAA It's ok, I haven't had a medical facial cleaning since I was about 16. I rarely have had acne since after puberty. But why not right. The only one thing I can give advice about is to make sure you make an appointment, they book up pretty quickly. I think about a weeks notice should suffice. My first time going here, I was almost turned around because I was late. I was about to just say screw it, since I came all the way after work from Northbrook during rush hour. So you all should feel my pain and road rage. Luckily for me, someone cancelled and they were able to put me in right away. The procedure itself was pretty forward. Clean the face, add the cream to exfoliate, rinse the face, then add another cream to open the pores. I was put under a steamer to really open up my pores. After about 15 min, they came back to put this big magnifying glass to stare at the nastiness that was about to come out of my skin. I was thinking earlier, while I was waiting, how back then when I was a kid, my previous dermatologist popped my zit and it splurged on her face. That's what you call a facial. ***DOOHHH*** but anyways, they did a great job picking inside my pores with a thin almost syringe like needle to remove all blackheads and whiteheads. They rinsed my face and then added a moisturizing lotion. After the whole procedure, I can definitely say my face was much cleaner and also smoother. During the winter time, my face tends to dry so I can feel how chafe some areas near my cheeks can get. They did a great job. I came back about a month later for a follow up and gotten another treatment. They told me I didn't need to get one till probably another 6 mos or so. So I'm making this like my dentist, a must go. Since I am no longer a young buck.. I need to take care of myself. I'm soo vain. read more

do not go here!! the girl at the front in charge of billing (who does not speak english well) messes up billing non-stop and then sends you bills of office visits she cancelled. when you call back to explain they cancelled this appt and your'e still being billed they never call you back and send you to collections! (not joking) now im getting harassing calls from a collection agency for a $35 bill of an apt i have never been too. when i finally called the office and let a message that im going to report to the bbb for unethical biz practices she started screaming at me that i dont know what im talking about and unless a mistake (you think?) they would not bill for an appt i didnt attend.... its a shame because i like the doc (although sometimes can seem off) and his prescriptive facial medicine,but for the ridiculous of their billing dept i am never going back there! read more

Clear Complexions was recommended by two of my friends that go here on a regular basis and have great skin now. I was struggling with the same acne problems for years- tried everything under the sun and went to a few dermatologists. Nothing worked until I gave CC a try. I've been going there for about a year now and my skin is completely under control. Stick with the recommended medical facials (I go monthly) and use the product combinations the doctor specifically gives you for your skin. He gave me a peroxide mask that was pretty intense at first, but made it very clear to ease into it. Use your own judgement- if your skin gets red and irritated and skip a day or use less. Now, I swear by the products and highly doubt I'll ever use anything else. And for the facials, Kelly's the best. My 2 friends and I all go to her. read more

My family started going here roughly 35 years ago. My brother had acne problems and it was very helpful for him. I used the products from the time I was a teenager as well and never had acne issues. Come full circle to today and I have my own teenage son. We tried several different methods to help his acne without success. Although we live quite far away now, the trip down there is worth it. So I was hard headed and still went here after seeing the reviews. If you're referred here like I was through your insurance.....ask for another Dr. From the time I walked in I knew I was in for it. The receptionist doesn't seem like she cares for her job and probably over worked. The Dr barely asked any questions and barely really looked at my skin. I left here feeling like I wasted my time coming and that my issues won't be resolved. If you want to be treated like just another number then this is your go to place. I won't be back. read more

When I walked in I was really unimpressed with the environment. It's a little run down and you can tell it's in need of a serious update, not to mention the receptionist was a little rude. When it came down to the actual service Alisha was great. My appointment was for a facial with extractions. I was really surprised at how professional she was especially after experiencing the front desk woman. My skin looked great after the service, you don't find places that do extractions like she did. This doctor is a total fraud. I went to see him last winter because i was experiencing a horrible hormonal breakout. I was working evenings and couldn't get into see my regular dermatologist. This man was weird , i should have trusted my feelings and left within the first minute. The way he and his reception spoke to each other was weird for a medical office.. Sold me some overly priced junk that worsened my face, after he and his receptionist whispered in the back. When i took the items to my dermatologist all she could do was apologize for this so called doctor. I now have been sent to collection to pay the $182.10 for those 10 min of so called service. It's so hard for me to pay someone for such a horrible service. My doctor couldn't believe it. I now make it a point to make sure i see my doctor during my lunch. A real doctor. Worst dermatologist I have ever been to. Receptionist is terribly rude, doctor is a fraud, and the only thing they care about is selling their benzoyl peroxide products that only make you breakout more. You would think their main priority would be wanting you to be happy with your skin, but it's not. It's all about the money. And on top of this all, the minimum wait for an appointment is thirty minutes. The only reason this even has one star is because it doesn't not allow you to post a review without rating. This place is a joke. Receptionist is rude. It's more important to her to finish up her personal phone call LOUD enough for the whole building to hear. The doctor had his own problems it seemed (hygiene). And to top it all off, I got a bill for an appointment I cancelled well within 24 hours of my actual appointment. I refuse to pay the $35. It's small, cramped and outdated inside. Oh! And expect to wait a minimum of 30 minutes, even though you showed up early or on time. Got referred to Dr. Henry Nichamin, Clear Complexions in Schaumburg, IL for my 16 month olds on going rash. They were the rudest people I have ever delt with in a medical feild and my son never even got seen. It started with no greeting from the staff not even a hi. Just a "fil out these forms" with out the receptionist ever taking her eyes off her computer screen. When dealing with our insurance company the receptionist refused to call her self making us call and having the insurance call the office. When I missed a peice of paper and went up to finish filling it out, the receptionist continued to speak about their personal lives once again not acknowledging me. Then the doctor came out and told me that other patients were coming threw and I needed to step away from the desk without giving me an opportunity to explain I was just giving the receptionist more information. I was willing to let this all go people have bad days and it was for my son and we need answers for the poor kid. When I sat I realized the baby needed to get his diaper changed. I got up with a diaper wipes and a jacket because the bathroom had no changing table (I had taken my daughter to it when we first got there) and the doctor stops me and asking if I'm going to the bathroom. I say yes and he ask if I'm going to change him. I say yes and he said "oh no, no, no we are not accommodating for diapers." We we're at the office for an infant and I can't change him! That was the last straw I was not going to allow someone who can't accommodate for a diaper looking at my infant child! I took the kids to the car while my husband asked for our paperwork back since it had both mine and my sons SSN on them and we would not be returning. The doctor informed my husband that going to the bathroom and changing a diaper were two different things and that he had just started accepting young patience. So very disappointed and now my child will deal with his uncomfortable rash until I can get another referral from his pediatrician. read more

After looking at my skin for 2 seconds the doctor insisted that I try their line of skin treatment which consist of Benzo peroxide and cost over $120 (not covered by any insurance.) After I told him that I was a nurse and what my concerns were he told me well let me write you a prescription what do you want me to write you. Extremely unprofessional. This place is great - I'm not sure if the nurse I worked with is still there - but she was fabulous - very good w me and understanding of how hard it can be to suffer with acne. I had terrible acne all over my face before going here. (being in my twenties this was extremely embarrassing) The first thing the doctor did was explain common causes of acne. He made me feel SO much better by debunking common myths about acne . I spent about 6 months undergoing treatment but I saw results within a month. The products are great, light, and customized to your skin, although they are a little expensive. They also made great recommendations about other products (paulas choice, almay) that are good for acne prone skin. I'm really thankful I found these guys through a friend and don't want to know what my face would have looked like without them! read more

The dermatologist here is phenomenal. He is a wonderful man who is sincerely helpful. I have Medicaid and THANKFULLY this office takes it. Unfortunately it is extremely hard to make an appointment with a dermatologist when you have bad insurance... either way, he was very forthcoming with what my insurance could and could not do. He worked with what they could not do to find me options more in the realm of my financial situation. I suffer from pretty bad adult acne.. it sucks. He was the only person who was able to help me. He was actually the one who suggested a possibility of pcos, which my primary did confirm. He knows his stuff. The staff there on the other hand is garbage. They never return calls, super unorganized, very very rude. They try to squeeze your appointment in and they will make it so you only get 5 minutes with the derm... so try to keep bothering the office to get your scheduled(days in advance) slot.. hopefully this will help some of you who are looking into this doctor !! He talks fast, rambles a lot, but if you pay attention to what he is saying then you will see it's not nonsense. He makes very good points and is reasonable and doesn't sugar coat what can and can't be done. read more

It seemed that the place was more concerned about selling their products such as facial exfoliators and moisturizers which are, by the way, expensive. My acne is not even bad and the doctor acted like it was the worst case of acne he had ever seen. The doctor suggested I go on Accutane right away which is really scary stuff. The doctor also wanted me to have acne surgery within a week. I honestly came out of the place more confused than going in. I will never go there again. The staff gave me samples of their facial exfoliators and, when I tried them at home, they made my acne become more inflamed than ever. I lived in the Schaumburg area about 15 years ago, for only a year, and I found this place. I was about 21 years old and suffered from moderate acne since i was 15 years old. This was the ONLY place that cleared my skin. I loved loved loved it! Unfortunately I had to move and have never found a place that helped me like it again. Only Accutane works as well, but I can't take that forever. So I finally decided to call them and purchase their products, and am excited about receiving the products again, but I could not believe it took the office person a week to ship me my products! That part pissed me off because I am anxious to start on the regimen again, and will continue with an esthetician for extractions and hope that I get the same results as I did in my 20's! I didn't like at all. I went there about 4 times. In those 4 times the doctor would repeat the same thing every time. 2 out of the 4 times he didn't if my mom or me was the patient. The cream he gave me for dark armpits made them worse. They were darker and more irritated. They were sensitive to the touch. The last I went I told him absolutely my concerns he told me that it looked white to him. And that he didn't know why the cream didn't work. That my case was and I repeat a very very very hard hard hard case. He then tried to sell me some other things that were the same thing as the first cream that I use that was not covered by my insurance. He then led us out without letting me or my mom respond. My mom was upset that she wasn't able to ask a few questions about how the creams would work. And the doctor said to me right in front of my mom who does not speak English "I'm sorry about your mom. Something's just don't my work. So I know it's my cream because there the best. You can't get them ANYWHERE else. But you know there's nothing we can do so sorry about your mom." After that he coughed didn't cover his mouth had spit flying everywhere and the smell was disgusting. After that we left. And I don't plan a n returning. read more

If I could give this place more then 5 stars I would. While I was a teenager I started going here since I had bad acne. Within a few months it was under control. Not gone, but much, much less. When I went to college I didnt get the facials, but I stayed on the products, which worked pretty well without the facials. Since I moved back to this area about 4 years ago I have been going to the facials and still using the products. At first I would get a blemish here and there, but after a while its almost nothing. If im really stressed and something does come up between facials I call Angie up and she will give me a steriod injection and the pimple will be gone the next morning. (if you get these injections make sure you dont have plans after!) In the morning the pimple will be gone, maybe a little red spot will remain, but nothing that a bit of coverup cant fix. So I highly recommend this place, I've been going here for maybe 10 years, and consistantly every 6 weeks for facials for the last 4 years. I have reffered about 7 people here that all go on a regular basis as well. read more

Here's the deal, I've been going to Clear Complexions for years, I've been to the Schaumburg office and the Oakbrook Terrace office. Are they the most professional? No. Does the Dr. like to hear himself talk,God yes! Do the products/extractions work? Yes! Use some common sense, if you feel the product is too strong back off, try new products in one area and start slowly. You can not beat the extractions and injections to speed up the recovery of your acne. I've been dealing with acne for 30 years. Go to a dermatologist office, they will write you a prescription and you are out the door, no long term solution. I tried Proactive, their products were not strong enough. I've tried antibiotics I DO NOT recommend using courses of antibiotics, if they work at all the solution is temporary and you risk developing a tolerance to the drugs so they won't be there when you really need them, also being on an antibiotic for weeks messes with your body, for me they upset my stomach and destroyed important "healthy" bacteria in my colon that I'll never get back. Do you need their facials? No, you can get a good deep cleaning mask to use at home. Bottom line, for people that truly suffer with acne, not just a slight case that's passing with pueberty this clinic is your best bet. If there is a better long term solution out there, let me know, I haven't found it. read more
