I had an appointment at Glazer Dermatology in Arlington Heights. This is a bit of a drive for me and I would not have picked this location, but it wasn't until I made this appointment that I learned it was in AH. I left it because other openings closer to me weren't until 2025. In my spare time I consulted Dr Google so I somewhat already knew what was going on. I met with the nurse practitioner and my visit was concluded in under 5 minutes. This after taking time off from work, a 45-50 minute drive, and filling out forms prior to the appointment and downloading the patient app. Could this not have been conducted via telehealth or could I have been squeezed in for a 15 minute appointment closer to my home? The NP confirmed my and Dr Google's diagnosis and the issue should be resolved soon. I just would have preferred that this could have been less inconvenient for all involved. read more

I've been seeing Dr Glazer for over 35+ years since first moving from the city to Arlington Heights. His office staff has since grown from 2 in his Arlington Heights office to quite a few and they were always overwhelmed by the numbers of patients. Did see a huge change in the staff with my visit this week and I think the new computer system that has since been adopted is playing a huge role in this improvement. I've since moved to Plainfield, over 30 miles away and would not even consider going to any other dermatologist. And while I still see Dr Glazer senior, everyone that sees Dr Alex just raves about him as well. I do my yearly screening and this year my moles on my back did have some changes that my primary pointed out as a concern. His reassuring demeanor immediately puts you at ease and he always takes great care. His assistant, Alexis, was also very gentle taking her time numbing all the locations he was going to remove. Love the fact that he compounds his own retin a lotion and Clobetasol ointment. read more

A few bouts of skin cancer means regular visits to a dermatologist. I've seen Dr. Glazer about once a year for the past ten years or so. Without getting into too much information, I had something on my scalp I wanted him to look at. In two minutes he diagnosed it, burned it off my scalp with liquid nitrogen, and we were done. I paid my co-pay and was done. Today, I believe most people see dermatologists these days for cosmetic procedures - yes, there are ads all over the waiting room for different procedures and that's not my thing. But, I will say that he and his office have a great reputation. If you do need work done; if I ever need cosmetic work done, this is certainly the place I would go to. read more

Mostly using Glazer for cosmetic, but it has not been a good experience the last year. I had mole removed to check and they left a scar I've since had to pay to get lightened- was told it would be minimal and was not, if it was going to be big just tell me. Tried to get a same day apportionment for a shot to take care of zit on my face and Was treated rudely on the phone for "presuming someone would take a walk in".....I'm a patient there and I cannot schedule a zit, can you help or not....it was a NO (very rude no). I've never been to a dermotologist before and wasn't sure what to expect. I only went to this one for a routine visit to see if there was anything I needed to worry about. The people behind the front desk were welcoming, friendly and nice. The nurse who showed me back to the examination room was pleasant and helpful and I asked her about the critiques the doctors had on Yelp about their poor bedside manner. (I was prepared for someone who wasn't a touchy-feely kinda guy because of those reviews.) She said different doctors are different ways, some more business like than others. I was fine with that because I'm not paying him to be my psychologist. He was recommended by a friend for his expertise and in that category he excelled. He didn't mince words or leave me wondering what he meant by any of his comments. He checked everything on my skin and answered all my questions. When I left I was better educated and not concerned about anything. If all my doctors are this direct, competent and thorough, I'll have nothing but good things to say about any of them. I am an esthetician that has known Dr. Glazer for 14 years. I have referred many of my clients to him over the years when I notice suspicious skin lesions or acne that was just uncontrollable from my end, my clients have always come back telling me how happy they had found a doctor that had the patience and knowledge to explain to them what he felt they needed to do. I also have many clients that have had cosmetic fillers done by other practitioners and had complained about how disappointed they were with the outcome, they just didn't get the results they expected. After referring them to Dr. Glazer he explained to them the difference from one type of filler material versus another brand, he makes his own "cocktail" to fit each individual, giving them satisfactory results along with outlasting any procedures they had in the past. The office staff are warm and friendly and knowledgeable, as he chooses them wisely because he truly understands they will be representing him and his practice. Like other reviews said, Glazer is a waste of time. I went to him years ago when I had a bad acne problem. He barely listens to you and has you out in 5 mins. He prescribed some horribly strong medicine which required me to have blood tests every month. It never fully cleared up my problem, but I got tired of dealing with him. My wife started going to him a year or two ago and is having the exact same troubles. However, her condition has not cleared up. He just keeps having 5 minute visits with her and prescribing her a different medicine. I feel he could be a good doctor if he wouldn't treat his patients like they were in a drive-thru. read more

I've been going to dermatologists for years to have moles/skin checks on regular basis. Recently moved to Arlington Heights and went to Dr.Glazer for a skin check. Doctor didn't spend much time with me (maybe 5-6 minutes) and didn't seem to really check or take any pictures of any moles to determine if any change size/shape for next visit. When I called to get the results of two biopsied moles (they don't call you, you have to call the office), I was on hold for about 10 minutes until someone got on and transferred me to someone else - who couldn't pull up my results based on my name, but based on the date of my appointment. Seemed very inefficient and sloppy. Plus the results were "fine" but they wanted to see me back in 6 months vs. a year to "keep an eye" on the moles that were biopsied. I don't even know what that means. I don't think I'll go back. read more

Would not recommend this doctor at all. The lady who took my appointment never asked me what I was coming in for. As I was about to hang up, I asked her if she wanted to know and her response was "I guess if it matters to you." As I entered the empty office, I was not greeted. I signed in and waited to be called. They asked to see my license and insurance card, standard. I waited about 10 minutes here. As I was moved to the exam room (for hives all over my body), the lady asked if I needed an exam gown. Interesting that you are asking the patient that question?? But yes, the answer is yes lady. I sat in the exam room for 45 minutes in my skivvies with a paper cloth dropped over my legs. The doctor came in a huff, sat down, scribbled some notes and asked without even looking at me "what are you here for?" I explained that I was in my second trimester of pregnancy and had very itchy red bumps all over my body (even my arm-pits). I explained quickly that I went to my obgyn and he ran bloodwork and told me to come see a dermatologist. The doctor took out his prescription pad from his pocket, never looking at my legs or bumps or anything! Scribbled something down on the pad, handed me a pamphlet and said I had hives. (no *hit sherlock). I asked if he wanted to see them and he angrily replied. "You have hives, theres nothing you can do about it. This prescription I'm writing you won't even help. They will clear up after pregnancy." Being in shock, I asked again, "You don't even want to see them?" He again very annoyed said, "I don't have to look at them. Some pregnant people get them. This is your first pregnancy isn't it? Pregnancy is hard sweetie." With that he was out of the room. And that was it - probably under 4 minutes in the room. I can't wait to get $130-$150 bill for a complete waste of 55 minutes waiting and less than 4 minutes with a doctor. *Sidenote, after the worst 4 weeks of my pregnancy, I finally got them to clear up with some herbal remedies I found online. Also, that prescription ended up in the trash. I looked up the med and it was associated with "possible" birth defects. No thanks Glazer Dermatology. Time for someone to retire. People require a bit more of a bedside manner these days. read more

The office is right off the street and easy to find. I was able to get an appointment the very same day! Unfortunately the dermatologist that I had seen the past was booked 6 months out they would not make any exception. I had went to sleep and all of a sudden I had woke up with tiny little bumps all over my cheek and my forehead. Something that never happened before. The receptionist was friendly and gave me multiple options for different locations. I went to the Buffalo Grove location. It was spacious the room was filled with clients. I really liked the check in process. They had a tablet thay you sit down with, you're able to answer all your questions. ,Insurance information all on the tablet. Although it was busy my wait time with the minimal. I was treated with respect and dignity the doctor was able to diagnose my issue and it cleared within a week. Unfortunately the medications were extremely expensive they were generous enough to provide me a large amount of samples and even gave me a pharmacy number where I actually was able to get my $250 meds for free they went above and beyond to help me. The nurse allowed me to come in after hours and pick up extra samples until I could get my medication in the mail. They were able to help me out and give me a pharmacy number. My medication came out to be free. At Walgreens I was almost going to pay 250 they save me so much money. I genuinely had the most amazing experience.. read more

I've tried many derms and it's always the same. They take 5 minutes to look at you and they prescribe a bunch of stuff then send you on ur way. It was the same as the others. I'm thinking of going back to see him and hopefully he'll be able to help. One thing though, he seems to be one of the top derms in the burbs. read more

I have had only great experiences with Dr. Glazer in the many years I've been a patient. I started treatment for adult acne, his skills are the only reason I'm not scarred. I have had biopsies, one leading to 10 stitches on my leg in which he kept me feeling safe and calm throughout. I go yearly for mole checks, do fillers when needed, been treated for itchy dry skin patches, and dark patches removed from my face and legs. I'm 55 years old, have several medical issues, and my Doctor suggested I see a dermatologist about some moles and spots. Dr. Fretzin is the doctor that saw me. He asked what the trouble was and I told him my PCP wanted some moles and markings to be seen because she thought they might be pre cancerous. I showed him one on my forearm. He took one look at it, didn't touch it, but within seconds of seeing it he said it was nothing but something that happens as you age. He said he didn't need to see any of the other ones. He refused to look. This made me very uncomfortable so I asked him to please look. His response was to change the subject. Then I knew why. He mentioned that I have wrinkles and loss of facial fat and suggested trying one of the many treatments to fill out my cheeks. It became apparent that this was a business and that they make their money in plastic surgery so get me in and get me out. I paid a $50 copay for less than a five minute appointment. I received a survey from them and completed it stating what I just described and how he refused to look at other marks. Don't know why they do surveys if they don't acknowledge them, especially a complaint or concern. One would think Dr. Glazer would be concerned about his reputation being marred by another doctor in his office. If you're looking for a dermatologist, stay far far away from "Dr" Fretzin and the practice altogether! read more

I've had nothing but great experiences here. The receptionists are very friendly. Looking at old reviews, the receptionists weren't very nice, so maybe they got new ones? I've visited Dr. Glazer, Dr. Fretzin, Dr. Kozeny, and Dr. Rosen for my acne. All of them were friendly and helpful and answered all of my questions. I'm seen as soon as I sign in, so the waiting time is not very long. The nurses that checked me in and took my blood were very nice and easy to hold a conversation with.
