After remodeling a whole house during covid we've become used to no-shows, high estimates and delays. Clear Current Electric was excellent and a welcome change to what we had experienced before. We needed to have (2) ceiling fans rehung after they were removed in preparation of having the popcorn ceilings scrapped off. The asbestos company did not reinstall the fans when they were done with the job. I now realize it's a good thing because unbeknownst to me, they were never installed properly when my parents purchased them 20+ years ago. Leo took one look at the wires hanging from the ceiling and noticed there were no electrical boxes installed for either fan. He also noticed the initial installer used wood screws on a metal brace. It's a wonder these fans never came crashing down. I watched him as he installed the necessary parts and rehung the fans. They are now fastened properly and securely which gives me peace of mind. I called Leo this afternoon and he was at our house an hour later. His price was very reasonable and I am now making a 'honey do' list for him of other electrical related things we would like done around the house. We recently purchased a home in North County and according to our wonderful home inspector Andrew, we needed electrical upgrades, and we wanted a fixture installed, plus a garage issue fixed. Leo was on a job but still answered my call on his cell, which was a pleasant surprise considering calls to other electricians just go to voice mail. He was recommended by Fan Diego in San Marcos to install my new overhead fan, which was complex because the ceiling where it went is 20 feet high and there was never a fan in that area. He had to get into the attic, then climb into a narrower and smaller area to cut the hole for the fan. Many other logistical problems but he persevered and the finished job is everything we hoped for. I learned a lot about the bid process with electricians and the wide range of pricing a consumer faces. I had a high bid from Electrical Insight of $700 and others between $600 and $300. However, I called Fan Diego and they provided me with Leo's phone number. I found out he is just now starting to make himself more available and just posted his availability on Yelp. We have a large house, with two air conditioning units but the price of electricity keeps going up and these huge overhead fans are DC so only cost pennies a day to operate. Anyway, in the future if I have an electrical issue, Leo is the first and only contractor I will call. read more

Leo and Claudia thought they were coming over to simply remove two fluorescent kitchen lights and replace with LED panels. That was the project but due to my kitchen space and the mechanics of LED panel installation, we had to get more creative. Leo and Claudia found a creative way to install the LED panel exactly as I wanted. But that was after 1/2 hour of thinking and another 2 1/2 hours of doing. Some of the doing was crawling around my attic to drill holes into kitchen ceiling from above and customizing the LED panel frame. Don't know of another outfit that would put in that kind of effort especially since they rolled up thinking the whole job should take about 45 mins! Super job! read more
