The service at this place is slow and the manager is totally clueless. I have low blood sugar, had not eaten all day and had to wait over 40 minutes for my food. He made a comment that since I ate more than half of my ribeye before getting to the least cooked & worst most rotten part of it that I must have enjoyed it. Did his wait person tell him that the other people at the table picked up the plate and was complaining about the odor when she approached the table and asked if there was a problem? Burgers were great at this restaurant. Service was prompt during rush hour lunch time. Fried mushrooms also great.

The wife and I came here for supper. As we walked in we were immediately seated with no wait. Our waitress was quick to our table and got our drink order( unsweetened tea and Tito's and cranberry. She offered us appetizers and answered our questions. We had cheese sticks, which came out fast, hot and some of the best cheese sticks I've ever had. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual. I ordered the combo plate, fried fish and fried clams, plus it came with coleslaw, fries and beans. The wife had the small fish plate it also came with coleslaw fries and beans. For the amount of food we received the $56.99 bill is just about right. We will come back. Service, good and atmosphere is really good tonight. read more

Came here for a pre-show dinner with my friend. I had been here before come on I think this time I ordered the exact same thing as I did last time... the catfish and shrimp plate with fries. It did not disappoint me... nice and crispy, fresh fries, those yummy little hush puppies yum! Just what I needed. It was a little busy, and getting busier by the minute. Our server seemed a tad overwhelmed maybe? He kept forgetting little things, and then when we wanted to order dessert and then against to pay, he was nowhere to be found. The restaurant is cute definitely. It reminds me of a Fisherman's Wharf almost. With its wooded and almost cafeteria like seating area (it isn't really though). This time though, we ordered the peach cobbler to share. It was all right... I don't know why it is a "best seller." I have seriously tasted much better. Clear springs cafe is a solid choice if you're looking to get some classic Texan fare. The fried options (steak, chicken, catfish, etc) all seem pretty solid, and I can attest that the chicken fried chicken is quite a bit above average. The gravy was a tad bland, but the portion is generous, and the meat itself is moist, a quality that eludes many chicken breast dishes. Chicken dishes here in general are executed pretty well. The charbroiled chicken here is also a decent heathy option and doesn't actually suffer from the dry, sandy condition that plagues a lot of grilled chicken at restaurants. This place fills up quickly for lunch; it was literally a full house within 15 minutes of opening on a Sunday, and service is pretty slow as a result. I'd be inclined to give it a 3.5 if I could, but since nothing blew me away, I can't give it more than 3. Still, a solid lunch or dinner option. read more

The Clear Springs Restaurant has Excellent food and service! Menu is extensive and seasonal to a particularly high standard. Definitely fine dining. It can be expensive but worth it and they do different deals on different nights so it's worth checking them out before you book. Highly recommended. The food is delicious. Everything I have ever ordered is very tasty. My favorite is the Little Buddy. It comes with catfish and fried shrimp. I get fries and green beans. The green beans are seasoned perfectly and are the best I've ever tasted. Sometimes I'll order the catfish smothered with crawfish étouffée. I never was a fan of onion rings until I was persuaded to try theirs. Now they are a must. Delicious! The portions are very large so bring a friend and a hearty appetite. They have good banana pudding too if you aren't too full to order desert. The service is generally good and the servers are friendly. I highly recommend Clear Springs. read more

I will agree that this is probably the BEST spot that you will eat at here in Midland, Texas. I am a southern girl, from Louisiana, so I'm just very particular about my catfish. Food...grilled salmon with seasoned green beans (southern style ...yummy)! The fired catfish with fries and cole slaw is SPOT ON! House wine (Chardonnay) was really nice! A great fun atmosphere and pretty full fir a Sunday eve. Lots of wait staff so no waiting for anything! Serving sizes really big! Great bargain for the price. Full bar also. I've been in here several times in the past yr as it's close to the EOG ofc as well as the ball park and several other O&G operators. First thing is big portions, so if you're a small eater, go with the lite plates. Second thing is the onion rings - gotta try. Third is the parking lot fills up fast at lunch so go early.
