They had plenty of bikes and paddle boats available for rental. But there were not a ton of paddle boat options for families with young children . Our group had two families, one with a 3 year old and the other with a 3.5 and 5 year olds. We only had three paddle boats to choose from, a blue dragon, a green dragon, and a pirate "ship." We went with the green dragon paddle boat. The front has two seats for paddlers and there are two more seats in the back. We opted to have our two young children sit between us instead of in the back because I couldn't trust them to sit still and not try to stand up and/or lose balance and fall into the water. It is $10 per paddler for 30 minutes which is more than enough time to go from the boarding dock to the fountain and back. It is not as easy as it looks and it does require some effort. Safe to say, it was a good leg and core workout and it prepared us for the hearty lunch that followed.

I got Wisconsin made maple syrup, a river bend t-shirt, and a little ceramic bowl I use to hold jewelry. Great little spot to get back to nature in Racine.

There's a wonderful picnic area and and plenty of spots for enjoying the views of the lake. The lake itself is good for swimming, boating, kayaking, or paddleboarding. It truly is a great spot for a little bit of everything. We enjoyed a wonderful walk around the park area and along the lakefront and made a note to come back another day for some on the water fun. They are popular and so parking nearby (though there's additional lots a distance away) can be difficult on a holiday (we tried on the 4th of July) but for a normal weekday or weekend, there's plenty of parking and plenty of space for fun. Little Muskego Lake offers a lovely oasis for recreation in the Milwaukee metro. Get to it!

There are swimmers, kayaks, fishermen, waterski users and boaters. It's a fun lake for fishing until the leisure boaters start zipping around in watercraft and jet skis. There's "no wake" zones for a reason and 80 percent of people seem to completely ignore the signs and buoys. If you see an anchored boat, give them a little space. And if you happen to be the random car that slowly drives through or parks in the middle of the boat launch with no regard to trailered vehicle, be aware of what's going on please. It's a hive of activity and I'm sure nobody wants to get hurt.

If you rent, you can choose to pilot a pontoon yourself, or they'll drive it for you and make stops. The best part is cruising down the river, drink in hand, past all the office buildings - the poor souls inside are most certainly green with envy. (I sure was when my office faced the river)

They made us feel welcome and were genuinely concerned about making sure we got on some fish, plus they were terrific guys!! Well we didn't have to wait very long, about 1 hour out my nephew hooked up on a lake trout and we ended up with 7 nice keepers. I've been on the hunt for solid paddle boarding spots that aren't too far from Milwaukee…read more We tried the pond at Veterans Park on the lakefront in Milwaukee, but I was so worried about falling in the water (it's not clean...at all) that I didn't enjoy it. We tried Pewaukee Lake, but there was a bit too much motor boat action to enjoy paddle boarding. I was flummoxed, until I spoke to someone who lives in Delafield. She recommended Lower Nemahbin Lake. Yahtzee! With free parking and easy access to a kayak/paddle board dedicated dock, Lower Nemahbin Lake is the perfect lake for us! Clean lake water flanked by lush green without too much motor boat activity (it isn't a wake-free lake but boaters are respectful and aren't abundant), we couldn't ask for a better location for paddle boarding. It has an anchored dock in the middle of the lake that we love paddling out to for an afternoon picnic on the lake (and to let the kiddo get some dock jumping/swimming in). It's also kinda fun to paddle under the overpass. Last time we went through, we were able to see a birds nest with peeping baby birds. All in all, a great spot to spend a leisurely Sunday afternoon. This review is for the lake in general for kayaking or paddle boarding. We have been kayaking and paddle boarding for three years now and been to 6 different lakes. I've lived on Okauchee Lake and grew up boating on many of these lake. The public access is down Sugar Island Road just off of I94 provides quick and easy access to the lake which is a bonus. Parking is limited but many cars don't seem to follow the signs which limits 10 cars to the parking lot. Without DNR manning and charging people this will happen. Still plenty of room to unload your gear and a short 100 feet walk or so to the kayak launch area with a short 20 feet pier. There is a public launch for boats but is for small fishing boats as it is a shallow launch and very shallow water for a long way past the island. The shallow water way has a sandy bottom so very little to no weeds and warmer water. Lower Nemahbin Lake is a 239 acre lake located in Waukesha County. It has a maximum depth of 36 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from a public boat landing. Fish include Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye. Overall a Great Lake to kayak, canoe or paddle boarding.
