I was in New Hampshire visiting my parents when an extreme case of vertigo decided to punch me right in the face. I'm going to spare the details of what was wrong with me and focus on my experience dealing with the Wentworth-Douglass Express Care. I came here around 9AM on a Monday and the lobby was pretty dang busy. I was able to get checked in right away and after spending around an hour in the waiting room, I was walked inside and given a private room. The nurses I spoke with were all super friendly and the same can go for the doctor who helped me. The staff seemed super knowledgeable, patient, and very willing to work with my "communication issues" making for the best possible experience (out of a bad situation). I spent a total of three hours between taking medicine, doing random tests, and trying a few different things out. Overall, the Wentworth-Douglass Express Center treated me very well, and that's something I very much appreciate. Did this place fix the problem? No, but it's something they could fix so I'm just cool with the fact that they were understanding, patient, and helpful. If you need urgent care and someone to guide you in the right direction, this place can help.

Urgent care charges around $900/visit. Not worth having your credit impacted because they don't bill for both parts of their service (sitting in the waiting room and then another bill for the doctor). $354 doctor bill was never sent to my insurance and when they finally did bill, it was past the collectible date range from my insurance. So the money hungry Wentcrooks Dollargrab Lacking care sent it to collections.

I had an extremely mixed experience at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital and I honestly don't know how…read moreI feel about the overall visit. I came here a few weeks ago because I was having severe vertigo while in New Hampshire and the walk in clinic I was at a few days prior told me to go to an Emergency Room in a few days if symptoms remained or had gotten worse. I came here at around 9AM on a Thursday and the lobby was completely dead when I came in. I was able to check in, get a private room, and start speaking with the nurses pretty fast. In my first two hours at the hospital I was hooked up to an IV, drew blood, had all my basic tests taken, and even went in to get a cat scan. The nurses were extremely friendly throughout my visit and I have zero complaints about the first few hours. Once I was done getting a cat scan, I was sent back to my room and that's where I sat with zero communication, zero water, and zero updates for three hours as I sat dizzy in a room. Once 2:30PM rolled around, the doctor finally entered the room and was not very friendly at all. She would say a couple of things and whenever I tried to respond for clarification she would just got irritated and cut me off, making it kind of hard to actually process what was going on or fully understand. Once she finished talking, she basically just left and I was back to being alone waiting for a nurse who I was able to ask a few questions to and get actual clarification. Overall, my visit to Frisbie Memorial Hospital left a pretty 50/50 taste in my mouth. The doctor wasn't very friendly and insisted multiple times that the most important thing I could do was stay hydrated even though I was left without water for the last 6 hours, so who knows. The hospital itself was fairly clean, the nurses were friendly when dealing with me, and even though my experience wasn't ideal, this is the main hospital for the area since medical centers aren't exactly all over the place in New Hampshire. My only recommendation is for the doctors to be a little more helpful when talking to people with Autism, because that one interaction ruined an entire week for me.

Having recently relocated from the Boston area--home to some of the world's finest medical centers--we were worried that a regional hospital wouldn't measure up to the complex, life-threatening neurological emergency we faced. We couldn't have been more wrong. From the moment the skilled Rochester paramedics arrived, through the incredibly fast and efficient handling in Frisbie's Emergency Room, we experienced exceptional care. The team--spanning cardiologists, neurologists, hospitalists, and nurses--worked seamlessly to provide a swift diagnosis, intervention, and treatment plan. The quality of care at Frisbie Memorial Hospital was excellent. The hospital's ability to quickly consult with neurological specialists and leverage their expertise while still offering the highly personalized support of a smaller facility was excellent. Following the ER treatment, when my spouse was admitted, we were given a quiet, private room--a comfort that made a huge difference during a stressful time. The attending physicians were great listeners who provided clear, reassuring answers and treatment plans. Every nurse and allied health professional we encountered was exemplary. Frisbie Memorial Hospital's team saved a life. We recommend them wholeheartedly and are profoundly grateful for the phenomenal care and support we received when we needed it most.

On one visit my 6 yo grand daughter had strep symptoms and was very sick. I called to ask what time they were open until ( it was at 6:35).I was told they'd be closing at 7, door would be locked at 6:59. We arrived at 6:50. The informed us immediately when they were closing. Staff and nurse were abrupt & curt. The practitioner was kind to her. He said no need for a strep test, he'd treat her for strep ( another family member had already been treated for it). We were out the door before 7 and they had already locked the door. This week she was seen for a deep cut on her elbow. When called to make sure they did stitches there the staff again rudely said you need to get her soon , we close at 7! At that time it was 5:55. She was seen and PA said oh, glue will be fine, it's in a good area. Her elbow looks horrible, it's completely open, glue gone! Her pediatrician said she'll have a bad scar, can't be stitched now. It needed stitches.. but of course they would be closing in an hour.. get her out! I've had great experiences here over the years but I'm not sure I'll ever return there. Sub par care and rudeness is not acceptable!
