I went to the Express Clinic in August. I woke up and couldn't put any weight on my leg and there was a large lump on the back of my knee. They took an X-ray. Nothing broken, then sent me to the cardiology dept at the hospital for an ultrasound to make sure I didn't have any blood clots. No further instructions. I went to the hospital. No blood clots. No further instructions. It has been like living in hell since. This is Nov and my leg still hurts. Have had several visits but no mri till the end of October. I'm glad I don't have any heart disease. I'd be dead by now. The clinic people were fast and efficient and friendly but left me hanging. I was glad to find out I had no blood clots. Long story about delays, further testing and incompetence. I will be having KNEE REPLACEMENT in February, 2026! read more

I called my PC at Express care and the fine secretaries and nurses got me in at the time I wanted that very day. They ran tests quickly and accurately and were worried enough to send me to the ICU. As it turned out they were right my blood pressure was extremely low and it's usually high. The staff at Wentworth-Douglass worked just as diligently. I've always been treated with respect by both these institutions and would recommend them highly. These men and women put their lives on the line everyday to care for us with the utmost respect. False advertising. Is Wentworth Douglass Express care but the drs bill separately from Wentworth Douglass. What this meant was the facility was in network but the drs staffing it were not. So congrats express care. You got your $50 copay, but now I have a nearly $300 bill for the doctor. I will never return and warn everyone I know and work with to watch out. read more

(my boss actually made me go) then I get a bill for $137. from dover express care and a $400.00 bill from some doctor who came in gave me attitude and his assistant brought in a printed piece of paper about vertigo and told me go go. I went there on Monday with my sick daughter. Was there over three hours to he told that she just had a virus and to take over the counter meds. The Dr never looked in her throat which she was complaining about being sore and only briefly looked in her ear. 3days later...she still has the same symptoms. Take her to her primary and find out she has mono and an ear infection in the ear he said was fine. I would definitely NOT recommend this place. Next time haven choice but to go to an urgent care, I'll try convenient md or Portsmouth hospital's facility by exit 7 in Dover. read more

I feel very comfortable taking my two daughters here. The doctors and nurses are always kind, patient and thorough.

I understand our for profit healthcare system is broken . Staff are stressed to the limits & wait times are long . Check in staff was wonderful. RN was efficient but minimally engaged - she appeared exhausted . The physician was curt , rushed , dismissive of my questions, impatient. My daughter explained her head & her ears felt full . He never checked her ears . Prescribed antibiotic gel for her eyes ( conjunctivitis ) but didn't address our other concerns. It was not a good visit. I work in healthcare & I do believe healthcare workers in many settings are not able to practice in ways that reflect the reasons they went into this profession .As a physician once said to me " there's no time to be kind ". I was angry but I also felt bad for this physician today .Having seen him years ago in the ER when he provided excellent , compassionate care to this same daughter ( who has an intellectual disability) . Today though there was a full waiting room, exam rooms full, faceless patients , a long day - I get it, no time to be kind . read more

My appointment was for 8:40, I was seen by 8:42 & the efficient & thorough care was simply amazing. From the front desk check in to the professional & kind nurse & Dr Barnet, everything was professional & thoughtful. Had to go and get some antibiotics for my sinusitis I tell you the employees here are awesome from the young lady that did My paperwork to the PA that check me up ton the Nurse that answers the phone and gave me My prescription they are friendly and very professional...the next day they called Me back just to check how I was doing..now I know I have a place to go when I get sick,when I comeback and visit...thank you guys.. read more

I woke up with really bad pain down my left arm, I called my primary, they had no openings, told me to go to express care, I was trying to make an apt online so I wouldn't have to wait as long but couldn't find it so I called, they registered me and said come right now and we'll get you right in, as soon as I got there I checked in, waited about two min and was called to go out back. The nurse was very thorough and asked me a lot of questions, took my BP, she was extremely nice. She told me the Dr would be in, in just a few minutes, sure enough the Dr knocked on the door a few minutes later, very, very thorough asking a lot of questions, checking out everything, I was very impressed. I can't remember her first name but her last name was Gagne...I felt extremely save from COVID while there as they were so clean about every step in the process. great place if you don't mind waiting 3 1/2 hours when it is not that busy, only to be told without even being examined that you have a viral respiratory infection and to take over the counter Zyrtec!! I demanded a chest xray because I had been coughing for 5 days with wheezing and no sleep because of it.....I got the xray and it showed nothing amiss..... and a prescription for the cough along with prednisone!! They were super efficient and so so so kind. I went in thinking I may have strep and was a first time patient, they made feel super comfortable and made the process as painless as possible. Luckily I tested negative for both strep & covid but I was still grateful to be better safe then sorry. Absolutely would suggest them to anyone, the staff was so patient and empathetic. read more

Great staff but waited almost 2 hours for test results that were e supposed to be back in 30 minutes because the NP forgot about us and went over time in her other patients. My one year old wnated to play and stand up on floor because who wants to sit on their moms lap that long but we could not because they had a bunch of exposed outlets she could stick her fingers in. If you treat all ages then you need to consider baby proofing your office And exam rooms especially if you are going to make people sit there for two hours. I went their myself the other day afn told doctor I do not wnat a std test but he gave me one anyway when he did my swab for yeast infection, I was asked my beliefs etc prior and I told them my feelings on that and they did it anyway!!! i also again was in there for over two hours!!! If it's supposed to be walk in urgent care then I don't want to wait two hours, I can go to that at the ER which urgent care is trying to help us avoid read more

Make an appointment for my granddaughter online today for 12:30 it's now 10 of 2 and she still has not been seen by a physician assistant or anybody when my daughter-in-law I asked how much longer they told her they were busy very busy and would get back to her door when they could very inconsiderate not very compassionate for a young child who has pneumonia and is had a side effects to the antibiotic that needs it changed and would not change it unless she was seeing an Urgent Care again and now having to wait is awful read more

So apparently Dentists only work emergencies Monday-Friday so when my tooth infection hit an all time bad on a Saturday (03/23/2019), I had no other option but to head into Express Care in Dover.. I wasn't expecting much seeing how I needed dental assistance so I just assumed that I'd be seen by a doctor who would prescribe me an antibiotics and then send me on my way home.. But it's true what they say about "what happens when you ASSUME" because just sending me on my way without attempting to help, wasn't good enough for them. Now don't get me wrong, the procedure that needed to be preformed absolutely was hands down the worst pain I've ever felt and with the way society is these days, it may actually be considered torture, LOL J/K... I am beyond thankful that they went the extra mile and help relieve a whole bunch of pain. Not only did they relieve the pressure that built up in my face from the infection so I could finally sleep but they made it possible for me to actually wait comfortably until the dentist opens on Monday. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone and everyone who is in need of not only medical assistance but maybe a slight dental band-aid to get you through the dentists bankers hours.. Laura the nurse was very pleasant and professional and Kasey Dillion, PA was pleasant, professional and caring. I was in and out within 30 minutes! I am usually very impressed but this time was different. Checked in and in room and dr and assistant in room within approximately 12 min. Dr said normal but not normal at same time. Confusing. Then said someone would be in with discharge papers. Approx 20 min. Later I opened door as was tired of waiting and listening to staff sitting at desk and talking and dr said assistant would be right in while she just sat there. Assistant came in approx 2 min later. They weren't super busy and I'm amazed it took more than twice as long to get released then checked in and seen. read more

We went to Wentworth Douglass Express Care because my 7 month old daughter had a fever for a couple of days and Tylenol wasn't helping. We were seen as soon as we walked in. There was no wait at all! The lady at the check in counter was very friendly and professional and made sure to get us seen right away (we were luckily the only patients in the waiting room). Our nurse was also a very lovely lady who listened to all of my concerns about my daughter and asked great questions about her fever and eating and behavioral problems to help figure out what was wrong. She was great with my daughter and made her feel comfortable and made her smile. She was also great about letting the doctor know everything I told her so I wouldn't have to repeat myself, which was awesome. I hate repeating myself! The doctor was very reassuring and figured out what was wrong quickly and got us a prescription and we were in and out in slightly less than hour. I walked in very nervous and anxious about my daughter's health, and I left relaxed and feeling so much better knowing exactly what was wrong and how to help my baby feel better. read more

BEWARE! This "Urgent Care" does NOT bill out like a typical freestanding Urgent Care. Since this express care is affiliated with a hospital (Wentworth-Douglass), they bill your insurance for BOTH the use of their facilities AND the doctor bills out independently their professional services. So instead of a typical Urgent Care co-pay of let's say $35, they bill you an additional $100 for an Emergency Room visit plus any labs they administer. This is NOT disclosed verbally when visiting this facility. After several minutes on the phone with insurance and billing, I am shocked to hear how they can legally do this. I feel I was scammed. I took my family of 4 here as we all had strep throat and couldn't get into our PCP/Pediatrician until the following day. I was willing to pay the Urgent Care Co-Pay of $35 instead of our typical co-pay of $20 for the convenience of getting antibiotics in our system quicker. Instead, I have to pay over $400 for additional charges since this Express Care is affiliated with a hospital. read more
