If you order tickets online, you will save about $5 per ticket. Just be sure to stop at the Guest Services window to get your wrist band. Lockers are all day and come in 3 sizes. The large was big enough to get everything we wanted to get in and more. The park, like a lot of places, is cashless. So remember to go in prepared for that.

This park was chill as it reminded me of like a city park that has rides, mini golf, and go karts as well as two wooden coasters! My visit happened to be on opening day of the 2022 season and I must say it was a good time as the park was kinda dead making for me to get multiple rides on Leap The Dips which was totally what's good! This park is really chill as it's like wide open with lots of picnic tables and places to hangout which I thought was kinda cool. While this might not be the biggest park around it still serves it's purpose for it's community making for an amazing time no matter how old or young you are. Their associates here were all very nice and friendly as I talked to alot of them and it was definitely enjoyable seeing how they care about the park. Lakemont Park used to have a seemingly random assemblage of portable rides which were still fun to ride. The whole atmosphere was that of a carnival-meets-dive-bar (the good kind of dive bar). But now the rides are no more, the coasters are still standing but not operating, and all that remains basically are batting cages and mini golf. Well as long as we were there, we figured we'd try the batting cages (I hit quite a few of line drives). But in short, there's no there anymore. And it was strange to see the two coasters standing there silent. Leap-the-Dips is the oldest coaster in North America and the only side-friction coaster. It's my second-favorite after Kennywood's Phantoms Revenge and half the fun of riding it was wondering whether this old, over-grown pile of Tinkertoys would collapse as you were riding it. By the way, it is a National Historic Landmark and the operator of Lakemont must keep it standing and in operable condition. But the money's not there. As for the Skyliner it's a fun vintage wooden coaster. It gave you a great view of the adjacent ballpark, and vice versa. The train had an "Altoona Curve" sign on its side, which was plainly visible from the ballpark.

When I was a child, I visited Kennywood to ride the nostalgic and modern rides. Now that I am older, I visit the park just for Halloween and Christmas events, a work party for my husband's employer, etcetera. During our most recent visit, my husband and I attended a company party in a pavilion. When we arrived at the park, we had to stand in a line that was longer than other lines, so I would like to see that line handled more efficiently. The pavilion was a large size and accommodated the employees. I was told that Kennywood provided the catering, which consisted of chicken tenders, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, grilled chicken, fruit salad, hotdogs, hamburgers, cookies, etcetera. I rate the flavors of these foods as 4 stars overall.

We LOVE going here and get passes every year for the family. It's amazing and always holds…read morememories. The new owners have put a lot into nurturing the park and it's extremely evident. You can tell by the cleanliness, polished amenities, the details that make it the best that it can be. We love riding the rides, checking out the character shows (no matter how old we get), and grabbing some treats. We love the soakzone and especially the floating in tubes area. If kids are little the pirate ship is absolutely amazing. The loggin toboggin is a favorite ride. Be sure to check out the new events like the family night that kept the park open until 10 p.m. The lights are magical. Also Hallowboo is my ultimate favorite there and trick or treating in costumes through Storybook Forrest.

Smooth, fast and lots of air time. What more can you want from a coaster? This is my second…read morefavorite coaster in the park. There is an extremely long walk to actually board the coaster. I've never been there where we needed all that space (I can't imagine how long that wait would be). the entrance has automatic gates that open and close when the train is ready to be boarded. You put your belongings in the holder on the exit side and then get in the car. There are two restraint systems. One small standard seatbelt and one lap bar. The seats themselves are on the smaller side, but will still fit plus size riders. The ride itself is exhilarating. The climb up the first hill gives you great views of the park and area (I liked seeing the giraffe's head poking out of Noah's Ark). MAKE SURE TO NOT PULL OUT YOUR PHONE ON THE LIFT HILL. They are very clear and very serious about the rules and yet people still break them every day which makes the train stop on the lift hill. The one down side is that the exit is at a completely different area than the entrance, so make sure you know that if you are meeting non riders. A must ride if you love coasters.

Such a cool view of the park atop the highest point of the coaster. Highly recommended ride for thrill seekers. The line can be long at times but it's well worth the wait for the thrill it brings. A must ride while visiting Kennywood, don't go by, give it a try! Looking forward to the thrilling ride again soon!
