We've…read moreheard that Clear Lake was ranked the #1 or #2 bass fishing lake in the world and wanted to give it a try. Initially I was going to rent a boat to go out on the lake to fish with my son but was blown away how much a boat rental was.. $350 for 3 hours so I decided to see how much a fishing guide would be. After going through google and talking to about 10 guides which most weren't available because they were booked already we settled on Adam. The initial conversation with Adam was great as he's extremely friendly and helpful. We settled to meet at the Lucerne Boat Launch at 6:30AM the next day. After a little delay on my part we got on our way by 7AM. The 1st spot we went to we immediately caught a few fish within MINUTES! For the next 6 hours we caught over 25 fish between me and my son... some as large as 4lbs...we had a BLAST! Not only did Adam take us to places where there were fish... he taught us how to be better fisherman. I've been with several fishing guides before and I can tell you Adam "HANDS DOWN" is the best I've ever had. He's extremely friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and is MORE than willing to share his information with you. Costs was EXTREMELY fair at $55 at hour as I would have paid more to rent the boat for less hours AND I am 100% sure I wouldn't have caught as much fish. I will definitely be back to see Adam at Whoop Bass AGAIN! If your looking for a Bass Fishing guide Adam at Whoop Bass is the man!

When you can't, you owe me a drink. Faith had no tours scheduled for today, but she woke up early and was waiting for my wife and I, boat in the water and ready to go. We paid a premium for the private tour but so worth it. I think 4 people per tour would be perfect so if you have another couple to split the costs it's well worth it. Watching Faith get so excited about spotting another species and talking excitedly about the where's and why's is really engaging. She truly cares about the lakes ecosystem and how it affects the birds. There is no script and no trying to up sell. This is a small owner-operator company. We had such a great morning. Before today I would have called this a bird watching trip. Now I will be describing it as a bird engagement tour. We stopped at a dock on the South side to watch even more birds not of the paddling type and use the restrooms. We then headed back across the lake. Our tour ran long as we were just enjoying the lake and the conversation. I recommend this tour just so you can feel Faith's passion for the waterfowl and this lake. My wife and I travel much of the year for work, meeting with customers and we see a lot of attractions, meeting a lot of people. We will be talking about this morning a lot with our friends and family.

Horrible customer service! The shop is hardly ever open, not sure how he's staying in business. I…read moredropped off a tank for service in July or August of 2015 and it is still in the shop 8 months later. I have called many times and left messages as well as stopping by the shop when their hours board says they should be open. I haven't been able to get in touch with anybody and cannot get my tank back. Hopefully this gets resolved soon but I would never do business with this dive shop again. Very disappointing since we don't have any local alternatives for dive equipment servicing.

I feel so much more confidant know diving our turbulent Northern California waters. . We did our first four ocean dives and my surf training in Monterey, but I finished my ocean dives in Fiji. USS Watersports regularly plans trips both here in California as well as warm water locals. It was great to be able to get an additional week of diving in, with my instructor, in such an amazing location. If your looking for a dive excursion, check out the dive trips that USS Watersports organizes. Before you go, the store has some dive gear in stock but even though they don't keep a large stock on hand they can order anything you want at great prices. I can't recommend this shop enough. The experience working with them as been fabulous. I can hardly wait for the next trip I take with them to Catalina next year.
