Styles range from standard to exotic, and if you're working on a unique look, this is a great place to go. Prices are upfront and seem very standard for very good quality eyewear. The woman I worked with was very knowledgeable and worked very hard to find just the right frames for me, and explained their business model very clearly. I also had an eye exam with Dr. Fast. She is terrific! Very patient and thorough. Things to know: they do not deal directly with insurance. Some insurance companies will reimburse you for your purchase and some will not, so check in advance with your insurance company. Definitely worth a visit. I've been coming here since I moved to Bellingham in 2003. I have always been very happy with their…read moreservice. After Dr. McEathron retired a few years ago, I have been seen by Dr. LeClaire. Dr. LeClaire is very thorough with her exam and spends so much time with contact lens fitting. Every time I go in for an annual eye exam and contact lens fitting, she looks for what's best for me. She usually sends me home with trial lenses with a new prescription to try out for a couple of weeks. A couple of years ago, I tried out three different prescriptions until I found what works best for me. She had me back for quick follow-up appointments to make sure of proper fitting each time, and there was no charge for them. It really shows how much she cares about her patients. The staff in the office are very helpful and very pleasant. They always checks my insurance benefits, and there's never been a surprise. I highly recommend Dr. LeClaire and her staff at Binyon Vision in Bellingham.

At the time of my sons first appointment with Dr. Charron he'd had approximately 9 dilated vision…read moreexams at two clinics by 5 different optometrists over the course of a year and a half. The first (local and trusted optometrist) told me there was no reason he couldn't see, he was making up the answers he was giving and that he must just want glasses. The second clinic was a vision therapy clinic where 4 of their optometrists did exams on my son at various points before, during and after participating in vision therapy. They continued to recommend vision therapy even though there was literally no improvement in my sons vision after 12 weeks of vision therapy and about 12 additional weeks of phototherapy. I took my son to Northwest Vision Development Center because I decided that if he was going to need ongoing therapy I would need to find someone closer to my home. Both myself and my sons pediatrician had trusted that the optometrists he had seen would let us know if they had concerns and since they had not indicated they believed there were any related medical conditions neither of us realized there might be something else going on. During the visit at NWVDC my son was evaluated for vision therapy and then seen for an eye exam by Dr. Charron. After the exam Dr. Charron told me that my son should be seeing better, that he wasn't going to recommend vision therapy because he didn't think it would help and that I needed to find out what was causing my sons vision issue. Fast forward 7 weeks to my sons appointment at Children's Ophthalmology. It turns out he has juvenile onset macular degeneration. Thankfully the length of time it took to get this diagnosis had no additional negative impact on my son, but I give Dr. Charron a huge amount of credit for 1) Not taking advantage of a parent who didn't know any better by recommending additional vision therapy, and 2) For setting me straight by letting me know there was more to this than I realized at the time. Had my son ended up being seen by NWVDC originally I would have saved myself close to $3000 and I would have saved both myself and my son a lot of time and frustration. I can't speak to the vision therapy done in this clinic since my son did not end up being treated; however, I would recommend this clinic to anybody because I saw how thorough they were in evaluating my child. After this experience I trust Dr. Charron 100% to do what is best for his patients. I would recommend Dr. Charron to anybody that asked for my input.

When I went in to pick up glasses, all the prices had gone up. They said I only paid for 1 pair and on top of that the prescription was wrong. After about 30 minutes of banter I was told they would remake and provide two pair, however they concluded I would have to pay an additional $14 when I picked them up. I will write a follow up when an if the new glasses arrive as agreed.

I opted to go with America's Best primarily because of their "Exam + 2 pair of glasses" offer figuring that if I had a bad experience, I would not be out an excessive amount of money. Even before making my initial appointment, I reviewed their the company's website and knew which frames I would want (single prescription/no options). My experience with the Bellingham, WA store was very positive in all areas....scheduling appt, eye exam, doctor's consult, ordering/delivering of the glasses (actually delivered a week before expected), and of course the "did the new glasses perform?" question, were all above expectations. I particularly appreciated that there was no effort to "up sell"...pushing more expensive frames, lens options, etc. Perhaps they recognized that I'd done my research and knew what I wanted, but in any case, I really appreciated that there was zero effort to SELL!

Yuck. Awful. Worse than, "not good"…read more I allowed this place to put new lenses on my Silhouette frames that I had bought in Singapore. They came back and the temple bars were mismatched from each other, and neither matched the bridge. Furthermore, within about 6 months one nose piece had broken off. The response of their staff was that I could purchase a replacement bridge for about $120, but that the temple bars were on me. Their staff agreed that the temple bars, right and left, were clearly different from one another (one is polished silver, while the other matte gun metal GRAY), and neither match the temple bar, which is blue. Even so, the claim of their staff was that they could not see how their lab (in St. Louis) could possibly have done this (despite the fact that each temple bar sells for over $100, while counterfeit Silhouette frames go for $20), basically leaving me as the only variable, the unavoidable inference being that I was somehow trying to scam them. We are done here. Never going back.

What actually happened was my husband found approximately everything he has ever wanted. Jackets, gear, "ooh look at this" items, suddenly it was less holiday shopping and more Yeagers-sponsored shopping spree for him. And honestly? I'm not mad about it. Because now I know exactly what Santa is bringing him (Great job, Santa. Nailed it.) We did successfully shop for the people we came in for...one lucky person is getting a Yeagers gift card (which honestly feels like a win for everyone). I also found the cutest raincoat ever, cowboys, cows, and horses, plus matching rain boots, BOTH marked down. I mean come on. Instant joy.
