The trails are great, the staff is awesome, the reservoir is amazing! The deer are so tame, we had them in our camp every day. Even with so many of us, the staff was super helpful and always took the time to answer our questions. We also did some geo caching, which is fun for the kids and grandparents, too. Kind of wished there was a place for WiFi service. It is camping, so you don't really want it everywhere, but one hotspot so you can adjust reservations would be helpful. But the staff were so amazing, one of them actually worked for the core of engineers, and was so helpful and informative, he was really interesting, and went above and beyond to help all of us have the very best time we could have. The weekend we were here- every camper was friendly, weather was fabulous and it's another really clean state park campground. Another win for Idaho's state park facilities! Cottonwood doesn't have hookups. I saw an equal number of RVs dry camping as tents there. Lots of kids and families. There is a visitor's center that's very educational about the Lewis and Clark expedition and it's free to visit. Highly recommend visiting the visitors center and watching the free movie.

Dark spidery bathrooms, dying trees, brown grass and a $10 dollat dumping fee added to campers in the park after charging a huge fee to out of state campers. I was raised in Lewiston area and will never camp there again until improvements made . we paid almost $75 a night plus a $10 fee to dump for dry grass and ugly dark outdated bathrooms and horrible showers wit lots of spiders.

We were staying at a competitor's unfriendly poorly maintained resort while our truck was in for service. When we inquired if Granite Lake had space available later in the week when our truck was out of service, Randy offered to come and tow our trailer to their park immediately. In 15 minutes he arrived and towed us to their resort. His brother, Rob, and Manager, Jackie King, were waiting to assist in getting us set up. They delivered a newspaper to our doorstep every morning. Provided recommendations of places to eat, things to see. Loaned us a folding table to put our grill on. Nothing short of first class service. We cannot wait to come back and intend to do so on a regular basis. Highly recommend this facility!!!

We were guests at a wedding held here. It was a wonderful venue & a perfect beautiful day…read more The tabernacle / barn & the reception area held a large number of people. There were even a couple of little birds - maybe swallows flying around or sitting way up in the beams during the wedding that added a tiny chirp here & there that was a very neat addition. They brought in a wonderful caterer that our friends often use in CDA & they used the facilities kitchen & it looked like that all went well. The food was excellent. If it was mid to end May or later I think the outdoor area between the tabernacle & the indoor reception area would be perfect for an outdoor reception. The grounds are just beautiful. I was surprised at the number of small children - 1/2 or more of the number of adults to kids who found a variety of things to do so they kept busy the whole time & they really had a great time. There was a bouncy house & then at least 2-3 teens to organize outside games & it was the best family friendly wedding Ive been to since I was young. This was the first wedding I've been to where all the kids were fun to see & happy almost the whole time. Another thing about this venue... it was just about an hour drive from CDA. I don't like to drive but the drive was very easy & it was a beautiful drive the whole way. It was also easy to find. I would definitely recommend this place. I could see it find other uses besides weddings like maybe even birthday parties for any age especially young kids or Quinceaneras etc...

Clearly within walking distance from…read moreeverything; and when I say everything, I mean 3 restos, nearby gas, a grocery store, and historic 20th century, small town architecture. Only an hour away for us, so an easy getaway for Mom & Dad. Wifi was a godsend, because our T-Mobile phones were useless. It was the only way to communicate with family if needed. The only other hiccup was a real low power pole. I'm rather tall, and it was knee's down and look under the cowl awkwardly--and while I am quite ambulatory, it really was kind of a pain in the.... The 30amp surge protector was essentially lying on the ground after plugging in, and it's not a big one. Wouldn't have been happy if it was raining in that regard. Certainly not a dealbreaker, and all-in-all a good start to getting back into RVing. It's central to all of this beautiful and unique area, and an affordable place to stay...
