Our transition has been flawless. We sold our home very quickly, before the total renovation of our apartment was completed so the sales team at Vi provided housing for us for 5 weeks and absorbed the cost of storage of our furniture. They provided a recommendation for an excellent mover, and put us in touch with a relocation specialist who drew a floor plan to advise which pieces of furniture would fit in our new space. This experience has been much better than we could have expected. The staff is overwhelmingly kind and responsive, the food is delicious (two dining spaces, one formal and one casual) and we are so comfortable in our beautiful apartment. We're thrilled to be at Vi at Grayhawk.

Love it every day! I'm not into dining out 3 meals a day...but there is the opportunity to do so. Very pretty dining room overlooking the central courtyard...and a Deli with a variety of soups, salads, sandwiches, fresh fruit. And a friendly bar for anyone wishing to have a cocktail and watch the ball games..or whatever. Also...if I decide to dine in, a hot meal of my choice will be delivered to my beautiful apartment. The A/C on 5 th Floor broken in AZ HEAT in process of being repaired . The DogPark id cleaned every Five 5 weeks ... the gate with a key can be opened by reaching over the gate, management told me they could not apply for a permit to raise the gate till the new year??? She did not blink when I told her Maintenance said OVERTIRE cleaned dog Paul every 5 FIVE weeks! The Yoga Gym Instructor IS usually late ,very late or a NO SHOW for scheduled classes . She calls management office on the 1 st floor Management does not Notify residents in Gym on 2 nd floor ...class or No class! The garage is filthy. The onsite scheduled classes and events are informative and enjoyable . Lately we have had several False Fire Alarms. Overland Kierland is an Over 55 community, Using the Stairwell to exit Overture Kierland is not EZ for 80++year olds and those residents requiring home medical care for a False Alarm . The staff is clueless, they get the basics wrong. Can't even send an email correctly. The corporate office is no better. I sent an email to Bob Faith, CEO, sharing my feedback based upon the statement on their website, "Share any feedback you have with our CEO. Our entire team is committed to providing residents with the best experience possible. We take all feedback seriously and work to address it and assist you in whatever way we can." I never heard back from anyone. They don't give a sh-t! Upon moving in, the unit had a tile cracked on the backsplash, scratches on the living room flooring, stained interior kitchen drawer. Photos were submitted to the office and no response. This past holiday season while preparing food for guests, the oven door glass shattered. I submitted a maintenance order and was informed by the community manager, "The oven door was broken and has been replaced only with another available door. As a courtesy, this was done without charging you for a full range replacement." It's my fault that the oven door glass shattered? They want to charge me for a full range replacement? They replaced the door without end caps on the handle leaving sharp edges exposed. They were informed of this and I was told the end caps were on order and would be installed. To this date it has not be completed. Last year, the fourth floor residents on the north side the building received a threatening letter at our doors regarding residents smoking. They accused residents without any evidence. If you have a dog, good luck! The dog park is disgusting, rarely cleaned, I could smell the urine from my patio, residents from adjacent buildings use it without picking up after their pets. Maintenance was informed on multiple occasions and rarely was anything done. All they care about is your rent and money! I ended up buying out my lease so I could move out of the "nursing home" as many of the residents call it. I paid two months rent to terminate the lease and per the lease "5. WHEN PAYABLE. The buy-out fee in paragraph 4(f) is due and payable no later than 30 days after you give us your buy-out notice." As soon as I submitted my notice to vacate I was charged the two months rent and received emails stating that the buyout rent was due and if not paid penalties would be applied to my account. Per the email, "Any charge that is added to the account and remains unpaid is considered late" They don't even know the terms of their own lease! Scheduled my walk through three weeks in advance and had to call the office to notify them that they had a walk through on the day of. Prior to the walk through I took a video of the apartment, that included the interior of every drawer, cabinet, appliance, floor, walls, sinks and showers. They sent a staff member who had no idea how to do a walk through and immediately upon entering the apartment her first comment was "We are going to charge you $50.00 for cleaning. I had my apartment professionally cleaned and offered to provide her with a receipt as proof. She also accused me of damages in the apartment, I Informed her that they were there upon move in and that I had dated pictures of the "damage" and informed her they were given to one of the previous Assistant managers upon move in. The entire interaction was audio recorded. I emailed the local Greystar office at desertcustomercare@greystar.com and in true fashion no one has responded to my email. Maryvilla is one of the few places that actually have 24/7 nurses that makes sure the loved one gets the best possible care - Been going for about a year. There's two dining rooms with gourmet food, great 24/7 security - and there's 24/7 activities that happen there. There is few pianos to play on, a small arcade area, a library. There's a huge living room where residents watch movies and the view from the balcony areas is great during July 4th fireworks in the area. No complaints here, you may see protected wild life like Javelins in the area but thats typical in Scottsdale. This area is also next to Fairmont Princess Hotel so out of state loved ones can visit and stay at walking distance. So this place may be more expensive than most places that just let the residents sit around - I seen interaction with residents with the caring nurses that's been there for many years. A++ place, would highly recommend.

From the dishonest salesperson misrepresenting the unit we were "sold", to management wringing every dollar they could out of us when we decided to leave for better accommodations, we often felt like we were being taken advantage of or mistreated. I can only assume that many of the people on staff at Maravilla have no aging loved ones, because if they did, they would behave with more compassion and humanity than we ever saw from them. My advice...Keep shopping and you'll find something better. It might not be as pretty as Maravilla, but the people will probably care about your loved ones more.
