Customer service is an exciting adventure where you spend more time talking to automated systems than actually getting help. The outages are frequent enough that I started wondering if the internet was considered an optional feature. Honestly, smoke signals might be faster, and at least carrier pigeons usually show up eventually. If you're shopping for internet service, do yourself a favor: keep looking. There are few things more reliable than Xfinity's ability to disappoint.

Our visit to this Xfinity store was the culmination of problems with our service at home. We got a REALLY helpful person through chat in the app who did some remote updates to our router but still recommended a tech come out to take a look. The tech that came out was probably the best tech I've ever encountered. He knew exactly what the problem was: we were sent the wrong router. We were given a XB7 instead of an XB8, which is what we need for our Ultra internet service. So we had two great Xfinity experiences but now we had to go to the store to exchange our router. I honestly went in prepared for battle. I told my girlfriend the same thing 3 times before we got there: "this is what I'm going to say and if they say anything other than 'ok, we can do that', I'm gonna lose my mind". We got to the store, walked in and were greeted quickly. I dropped my prepared statement and I kid you not, they were like "ok, we can do that." They took our old router, brought a new one up, scanned it to add it to account and we were out the door. We were in the store for MAYBE 10 minutes and that includes the Xfinity Cell Service sales pitch. I'm not mad at that part because 1) they have to pitch that, it's their job and 2) we are actually looking at switching to a different cell carrier later this year, so we'll be interested in that sooner than later. In short, this whole thing has been the best experience with Comcast / Xfinity that I've ever had. The whole thing could've gone downhill as soon as we entered the store and quite frankly, I was expecting it to. However, our experience in the store was as good or better than I could've asked for.

The sales rep and manager both told me there was nothing to be done and would not honor it or offer any credit back at the end of the transaction. Sales rep pushed for a high review when she didn't even ask what size storage phone I wanted, pushed purchasing other items, and didn't offer the trade in promo. Manager wouldn't even make eye contact and blew me off when I got frustrated that they wouldn't honor the promo without redoing the entire order which would have taken another 1.5 hours in the store. I can't believe people are happy with the store, they are deceptive they are ridiculously expensive and the service is marginal. I asked for a receipt three times and was ignored and found out why when I finally got the receipt I was charged $120 for a "bundle" which Robert tried to convince me was a great price. They charged 40.00 for a charging cord that costs 11.99 at target and the rest of the necessary accessories were 3x the price everywhere else. He took advantage of me because I was using a corporate credit card and thought I wouldn't care. Do not go to the store and buy anything. I will report them to Verizon and bbb not that it will matter but I would like to save others from this headache.

In March 2018, a new Verizon opened in the Avenues Mall (upper level, next to Ruby Tuesday) near our home. It has proved to be the best retail experience by far for our wireless communication needs. Store Manager Robert Lam, in particular, is always supremely helpful and congenial. As 60-somethings, who can require extra education and patience where technology is concerned, we sincerely appreciate this. Five-star rating for Verizon at Avenues Mall.
