Here's something I never thought I be doing: giving any service from Comcast / Xfinity a 5 star…read morereview. Yet here we are. Our visit to this Xfinity store was the culmination of problems with our service at home. We got a REALLY helpful person through chat in the app who did some remote updates to our router but still recommended a tech come out to take a look. The tech that came out was probably the best tech I've ever encountered. He knew exactly what the problem was: we were sent the wrong router. We were given a XB7 instead of an XB8, which is what we need for our Ultra internet service. So we had two great Xfinity experiences but now we had to go to the store to exchange our router. I honestly went in prepared for battle. I told my girlfriend the same thing 3 times before we got there: "this is what I'm going to say and if they say anything other than 'ok, we can do that', I'm gonna lose my mind". We got to the store, walked in and were greeted quickly. I dropped my prepared statement and I kid you not, they were like "ok, we can do that." They took our old router, brought a new one up, scanned it to add it to account and we were out the door. We were in the store for MAYBE 10 minutes and that includes the Xfinity Cell Service sales pitch. I'm not mad at that part because 1) they have to pitch that, it's their job and 2) we are actually looking at switching to a different cell carrier later this year, so we'll be interested in that sooner than later. In short, this whole thing has been the best experience with Comcast / Xfinity that I've ever had. The whole thing could've gone downhill as soon as we entered the store and quite frankly, I was expecting it to. However, our experience in the store was as good or better than I could've asked for.

Especially diabolical after dealing with a chat agent that terminated my service out of petty spite. Spent hours being lied to, gas lit, offered multiple prices for identical service plans and double the price or more for the same service offered to new customers.  WOW  if you have ANY options go elsewhere.

My experience with the company dates back to a couple of years ago, but my experience was so bad that I would not consider going back to them until it was widely reported that they have cleaned up their act. (judging by the blog at http://clearwiresucks.com/blog/ they have not done much apart from changing their name). 1. Every time I called customer support, I had to deal with a hassle of some sort--either the tech didn't know how to answer my question, or I had to go through a script of diagnostics, or some other frustrating customer no-service issue, one of the problems was that they wanted to restart the clock on your two-year contract EVERY time you made an adjustment to your account settings. 2. I was on the hook for a two year contract, and when I realized that they were charging me the same amount as their competitors for internet service that was 1/4 the speed of those competitors, I called to cancel, only to be told that I would have to pay the LARGE cancellation fee (It was like $250!) 3. I haggled with them for 45 minutes, explaining that I was now an unhappy customer, stuck paying way too much for way too slow internet, and they begrudgingly granted me a discount. 4. I set a reminder up in my calendar because i heard that they like to just re-up your contract if you don't call EXACTLY within their window to cancel your account, and when I called, and they badgered me about leaving, they promised that they were going to offer a better, higher speed product. I told them that unless their customer service/tech support improved, I would never make use of their service again Basically, this is the iPhone of the internet--REALLY great idea!!!!!! Implemented by the worst possible company (AT&T). UPDATE: Locations for Clear keep popping up in Jacksonville. Here on Yelp, it appears that each time one goes live, there is a 5-star review on it. I think the company is encouraging its sales reps to come on Yelp and up-star the locations. If you look for Clear in other cities, the same trend exists. I've already flagged two suspicious reviews where the person making them was a new member with only 4 reviews: all of them 5 stars, and all of them for Clear in various locations. Update 2: In April 2009, Clearwire was listed as the defendant in a class action suit. Here's the documentation: http://www.tzlegal.com/wp-content/themes/tycko/clearwirecomplaint.pdf

If you like slow service as the employees spend too much time talking personal with customers. Conversations that have nothing to do with phones or service. That can't even work and socialize at the same time as eye contact is important. They are doing this right in front of you as you wait. This is the place for you. If want to stand there for 10 minutes as they wont recognize you. This is your place. If you want to watch people walk out for wait and frustration this is the place for you. I needed something pretty simple turns out. I bought a new phone from apple but didn't have a phone line yet, plus if you buy from apple you don't have to worry about jail breaking or waiting for a year or more to go buy before charging carriers... (This is big as I am SO lucky I can change carriers anytime and don't owe a tone of money on phone forcing you to stay). Apple stated T Mobile should be able to help do it. On top both devices are t mobile. Work cell and personal cell but two different iCloud's. I finally get an assistant to help me. Picture a man helping you sloppy dressed wearing a sport team jersey oversized baggy pants and a ball cap. I didn't realize he even worked there for thirty minutes. Proper attire if East LA. He stated unless it is the same iCloud you must use a desktop. I told him I did it before with other carriers in past. He stated that is the only way T-Mobile is trained and their guide shows. When I told him I didn't think it was correct the other rep didn't correct him but silence was concurrence. Apple Store in 30 minute drive. I went into their competitor next door and not only did they know how to do it they moved everything on the phone I wanted but did it in minutes. I am not sure if all locations in Jax are like this BUT stay away unless board any want to watch dysfunctional. The ones really to blame is store manager and District Manager. T-mobile for not ensure training is completed or updating manuals on the basics of phone transition. Visit was at 6:30pm 4/1/26

I was very well taken care of by a young lady named Victoria and I plan to return when I have everything together and I'm ready to switch. I was very happy with the customer service received. T-Mobile is very competitive with their pricing and currently have some great offers for new customers looking to start a line. They are merging with Sprint and have great coverage in Jacksonville with plenty of towers. Right now you can switch and get a FREE iPhone but I'm not sure if I will use this offer or not.... They also allow you to switch and keep your current phone and phone number. I will update this review in the future if I decide to switch. Thanks goes to Victoria for being very helpful and explaining everything to me in great detail.
