It had been over twenty years that I made the decision to have an abortion. Immediately filled with regret and shame and unable to cope with what I had actually done, I decided to put that part of my life away and never revisit it again, hoping time would heal. Life went on. I left my partner who was abusive, made new friends, moved, changed jobs, married my husband that I have two children with but there was still continued to be this part of my life that I just could not fully revisit. I did not know how to. And despite being able to go on with life, at every doctor appointment that required a health history and every time the topic of abortion would come up, and especially after having birthed our two children, I continued to be reminded of a part of my story that I felt left a hole in my heart, I still felt ashamed and guilty for having made the choice and yet felt I had no right to feel grief for having lost a child since I was the one who ultimately chose to abort. Long story short, a very dear friend of mine who had no idea that abortion was a deeply hidden part of my story, shared with me about post abortion counseling with Clearway Clinic, a non profit that offers love and support to women who find themselves pregnant or who have had an abortion. Having heard about how impactful this service has been to other women, I was immediately drawn to learn more. Within just a few weeks I was signed up for their post abortion counseling and without making this an incredibly long review, I will say that it was one of the most impactful experiences that I have ever had. I can honestly say that now there is no more shame, there is opportunity to grieve without guilt. The people at Clearway quickly became dear friends and all went above and beyond to help support me as best as they could during the sessions. They were so kind, extremely patient and very loving. I never felt judged, looked down upon or felt like I needed to hide anything. They are all incredible people and I cannot say enough wonderful things about them or this service. I am so grateful for Clearway and I would encourage any woman who either finds themselves pregnant and in need of help, support and information on all your choices to call Clearway. I recently went in to get an official pregnancy test and for an early term ultrasound (they can see the baby as early as 7 weeks). The ladies were very professional and confidential. Even though I brought my husband, they talked only with me at first and made sure I was feeling comfortable with the pregnancy and asked what my plans were. (We are planning to carry to term and raise our little one). They give you information about all your different options- raising them, adoption and abortion. They are a Christian organization, but these ladies show true Christian love. They are not pushy nor will they lie to you to promote their own agenda. Everything they told me was verifiable and seems good to know before you make a decision on how to handle your pregnancy. The ultrasound was seamless and amazing to see. We got to see his little heart beating! The nurse was very kind and explained everything before we even went into the ultrasound room. My husband was allowed to join me there. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend it. read more

Clearway was a Godsend. No pressure and lots of information. Answered my questions and listened. A great Resource.

First thing is first: any reviews marking automatic 1 stars just because you deem that Clearway doesn't take your political stance on things is unprofessional. Clearway Clinic exists to be an honest and supportive Women's Health Center. They have nurses on staff (that also work at many local hospitals...gasp) who are extensively trained to offer you the most up-to-date information. The nurses are trained sonographers who work hand in hand with the volunteer doctors to provide the women with information on their pregnancies. Clearway doesn't replace your OB and will refer you to them if they find any concerns with your pregnancy. Clearway also serves to counsel women and offer a baby boutique for mothers who can't afford certain items for their babies. Clearway is doing a good service for the city of Worcester. Clearway also wants to make sure women are informed on the decisions they are making. You won't find Clearway employees picketing across from PP they will be in their own clinic actually supporting and helping any woman in need. Cheers. read more
