The expansive variety of frames he had in stock was truly impressive. And the cherry on top was that Alex was running a promotion on children's glasses, 2 for $99! There were no hidden fees, just straight up $99 for frames and the lenses. He had the first pair ready for our son in about an hour. We picked up his second pair 4 days later. I took this with a grain of salt and thanked them for the help. Again and again it would happen. I noticed they didn't seem as good for distance as an old pair So again I stopped at another shop and surprise the prescription wasn't filled nearly correctly Returning to BJ's I was informed my glasses "were filled within the range of what was acceptable" I told them that wasn't acceptable to me. I appealed to customer relations and was told it was a separate entity but there was an 800 number.

I had a generous $300 frame benefit with my insurance, and I told the salesperson I wanted to spend only half that. He brought me to a wall, and I picked out glasses. There were no prices anywhere. I get home and realize that somehow, the frames I selected, were not merely double my budget, but, somehow had a retail price of EXACTLY $300. I called the store, and spoke to the salesperson who sold me the glasses. He was SO DEFIANTLY RUDE, when I was trying to clarify why the "entry level frame" cost $300. He got angry at me and wouldn't even let me speak, said "that's the price, it's not my fault you spent too much". I called Pearle Vision Corporate, (by the way, they're bad too). After calling every day, and waiting in an alleged "queue" to get customer service, 10 days later or so, they sent me a copy-paste email that said the stores are all independent franchises, and told me to pound sand. Okay, so, if the store and corporate can't help that there is some sort of dishonesty going on here, I decided to file a grievance with my VISION insurance company. They investigated, and replied IN-WRITING, and told me they had cleared me to return the glasses in-full and I'd get a full refund and my insurance balance reinstated. I went to the store to return the glasses. The man had charged me for BRAND NAME Ray-Ban frames, when I got an entry-level cheapo pair. The woman who processes my refund said, "These aren't the glasses that you were charged for" And furthermore, the pricetag from the frame in my paperwork was NOWHERE NEAR $300. What a despicable business. The Salesman rings me up for a) Frames I didn't buy, b) A price that wasn't even on the frame, and c) The amount he charged was MAGICALLY the maximum frame benefit. There are over 80 tenants, a real bounty of clothing and fashion, bars and restaurants, beauty and wellness vendors, specialty stores like Apple and Warby Parker, and amusements like a paint bar, escape room and a movie theater. We spent a few hours here with our grandchildren, enjoyed a great lunch at Legal Seafoods, grabbed drinks at the J.P. Licks ice cream emporium, and went shopping at the Paper Source. We were very impressed with our visit.

And I only get two, so I really wanted to see someone ASAP. She got me in this afternoon and was both thorough and wonderfully easy going. She took my mild hysteria and put the kibosh on it with some clear explanations, common sense and a simple starting point - hot compresses, they were only clogged oil pores. Not wanting me to waste the time away from work, she did a full eye exam as well, helped me understand why I was grumpy with my new glasses (an astigmatism that had never been accounted for) and went over how my particular astigmatism could be difficult to work with (it's on the oblique). Basically, she was easy to deal with and I left satisfied and in a much better mood. The little optical shop she's located in, Pirelli's, seemed pretty cool too!
