The other driver was also represented via State Farm. I was clipped by another driver as I started to "veer" over (not crossing the marked lines). It was a construction zone and the other driver had switched over to the turn lane and sped up to pass illegally. He was trying to leapfrog back into my lane. The other driver then tried to leave the scene. I had to pursuit him to get him to pull over. Because I said the word "veer", I was found to be at fault. I called "my agent" (Jim Spachman) to describe what had happened. He told me that there is/was nothing he could do to help. Like a good neighbor? More like the sleazy local bill collector! While someone like myself, that struggles with monthly finances (because of things like insurance rate increases), Jim is off on another fun and sunny vacation. Thanks Jim! Hope you choke!

Now, the reason I am sharing this story is.... for the first time in 30+ years I have been a State Farm policyholder, I had to submit my very first fire claim ever. A catastrophe claim at that. Twice in 2 days, I have spoken to him on his personal cellphone outside of normal business hours. If you think about all of the people who have suffered damage from the storms, how many insurance agents are calling their policyholders from their personal cellphones on the weekend? I can tell how many. Not many. In addition to the fact that Axel personally cares about his policyholders, he also cares about human beings on a higher level. He is so kind and giving and compassionate, and I have personally experienced this first hand this weekend. I thank Axel for being a lifesaver and helping me get my life back on track. Please, if you have experienced any type of hardship this week because of the severe weather, and you have received help from your insurance agent, please take a few minutes to recognize them. They deserve it at the very least. Their leaders also need to hear the praise. At the end of the day, this is their job. This is how they make money to support their families. The people who lead these agents need to hear the positive words and praise about their agents who are on the front lines helping people change their lives for the better. I would highly recommend going with any other state farm agent in the area…read more Not a customer of theirs, but had a fender bender in front of their business. I was not at fault, but one of the axel's agents came out and graciously informed me and the woman involved that he's seen this 100 times and I'm definitely at fault. He was honestly being super unprofessional about it. Really had no business trying to point out any accountability at that time. I think he was trying to score some points with the young women involved, not really sure. Needless to say, they told me that my insurance company could reach out to them for the security footage of the incident. They never responded back to us with the footage. Go figure. I even showed up in person to ask about it to which they assured me Mr. axel would reach out to me (never happened). Fortunately, working through my own insurance, I was not found at fault of the accident. I guess this goes to show that despite "seeing this all the time" this team really doesn't know jack about who's accountable in an accident. If this epic display of professionalism and knowledge is what is to be expected when you are an actual customer for them, then I would just avoid this place like the plague.
