The…read more2 movers arrived, with one worker refusing to participate at times and using profanity in my home, pacing around. The move, quoted for 3 hours, took nearly 8 hours due to lack of efficiency. The owner initially promised to return to complete the remaining items the day before my closing date of my home but never did, and didn't even communicate he wasn't coming back - leaving my garage and closet full of belongings. And I fully paid him! Despite full payment, he stopped responding to calls and texts entirely. My realtor later confirmed he had no plans to return, and I only was able to find out through my realtor! What a fraud! Several items were damaged or misplaced, including curtains and furniture hardware. They put my precious curtains underneath tons of heavy boxes and they are now completely destroyed! They left my new home an utter mess and not at all organized. This lack of professionalism, communication, and respect caused significant stress during a time-sensitive move. I nearly broke my back trying to get my things the day of my home closing moved, and my realtor had to help me so last minute! My health and back are absolutely destroyed, not to mention mentally being treated this way and he received full payment. I would strongly caution others against using this company. No one should EVER be treated this way nor should a company operate and take peoples money like this.

Although Packing Day was delayed, the move was completed on time. 3 items were damaged (cannot be used) & reported straight to the top, owner Oscar. Absolutely NO RESPONSE from Oscar or anyone; it's been 6 weeks now! The UNPROFESSIONALISM of this young company is NOT worth the risk of hiring them unfortunately. I'm very disappointed. As someone who has moved plenty of times, intrastate & interstate, this was the most DISorganized move I've had; but, the lack of respect of choosing NOT to return your customer's messages for mistakes made = priceless!!

They said that they wanted certain things so instead of putting in the dumpster at my old place they decided to put in trash or rather beside it at my new place where trash won't pick up. One of the fellas seemed to try and listen but a silk orchid and a large piece of anything were still left in my bed and bath. Cords and the items they matched were packed in different boxes. How do you do by accident? Idk. Things were broken. My recliner was packed in the truck without a blanket getting it dirty. This was a one year old recliner that had a cover on it the whole year. They left packing supplies in the front yard even though we didn't pack at the new place and they were supposed to take all boxes. 3 items were left with big bulky blankets...of course one of an inexpensive Amazon mirror not my nice recliner. Go figure. I asked to pack my express machine with tlc. All the pieces were packed separately?? I can't find them although not completely unpacked. I had 3 old dolls my mother gave me as a child. They were not wrapped and almost decapitated. They were upside down and hyperextended. My mother passed over 30 years ago. Big mast blankets were left on 3 items now still on two. I just spoke to the office about a piece left by the trash that was too big to bag and otherwise I'll have to pay. They purposely put behind things and I just saw, water logged and too large for the trash man to pick up in a neighborhood. She said that they would talk. I personally don't care if they get the blankets but should not charge me for leaving items that they don't want (but said they did) by my trash can instead of the dumpster at my old place. Was the price worth it? No! I tried to bribe into a reasonable speed. Well, they had done two move earlier in the day and were tired. Two of the days they arrived 4-5 hours later than what I was told. I was exhausted by the time they got there because of some physical issues. Each day they say 10:30 and arrive 2:30-3pm. Ridiculous. Items still left in boxes that were supposed to be emptied and boxes galled off. Who knows how much it will cost to replace cords to items. Tarah at the front has a script 'I hear your concerns' the man that I think owns was so disrespectful speaking to me. Even after they received over $4000 from me. The two men that got some furniture from my dad's old house on a separate day were great. But with 4 days of horrible I can't focus on that part. Disrespect, late, broke or hid items, left stuff of theirs ie blanks, forties recliner, left items by trash that could potentially cost me more money. I've asked for someone to pick up. If I must pay I'll update. They assume if folks move in 4 years folks will forget I guess? They said the truck was getting full but they had some items I gave them.

He said he could. We confirmed the time. He did not ask for a deposit. All good I thought. Sunday rolls around and I text him at 1pm asking him to confirm the move in at 3pm. Silence. Sunday at 3pm rolls around. He's nowhere to be seen. I call at 3:15pm. No Answer. I call at 4pm no answer. I've been ghosted with a truck full of boxes with no help available. He calls back at 4:30pm. He says he can't make it that he sent his crew out. he then says that he can't do today. Then, he says that we never confirmed (lie). Then he said I never sent a deposit (he didn't request). Then he said, "why do you need to be aggressive here?" Well, I'm angry because i've a truck full of boxes, no help, i need to get the truck back and I need to work the next day. End result - I unloaded the truck by myself. And, hence, this 1-star review.

Preface to this review. I had used Yelp to get quotes on a move from Durham to Wilmington I…read moreinitially had quotes ranging in price by thousands of dollars. So I clarified my requirements and offered FaceTime/Skype appointments to provide visibility to the move. Royalty upped its original quote of $800 to $1,000 then $1,200 and said that he wanted a chance to see the beach and that he just bought his truck and was wanting to utilize it as much as possible. I bought his line and wanted to hire him. ... he wasn't the cheapest but I bought his 5 kids and new truck story .... And it is all a story Tony Douglas is the owner of Royalty Moves if that is truly a viable entity. Tony is right no matter how wrong the situation is. Or how wrong he has done you!! I should have acknowledged that my $600 deposit was a lost cause when 3 days after me sending him the money ( 50% of the quoted job) , he wrote to say that he needed another truck and the job would now be $2,000- not the agreed $1,200. When I told him, that he lost the job, he told me that he had a " no cancellation policy" and would not return my deposit of $600. Tony said he was just trying to do "right by me" and that he needed a second truck. He agreed to physically come to my house, which he did and acknowledged that his 1 truck would be sufficient. With 3 weeks before the move, it looked like this initial hiccup had been resolved The day before the move, I texted Tony to make sure we were all set for 7:00 am the next morning. 3 hours later he texted me back -"all set, but do you have blankets?" Okay.... The story goes from bad to awful from here Tony says his truck broke down and his blankets were in the truck, but no worries, he'd rent the truck and blankets and we were still on for 7:00 am the next morning. A few more texts from me, explaining that we had a lot of dominoes in play on the move starting on time, and Tony reassuring me that he was all set. I also started to get the feeling that Tony's truck wasn't just broken down, but impounded. The next morning, we woke up at 5:00 am , checked my phone and read a text from Tony- sent at 10:04 Pm - "Can you guys grab the truck for me in the morning and we start the job at like 9 I'm having a problem reserving the truck it has my number flagged connected to another customer I think this is the quickest fix for me to get you to get the truck first thing in the morning and we get the job done ". When we didn't reply because we were sleeping, he wrote: "Let me know first thing so we can get it squared away I DO NOT NEED TO CANCEL THE JOB I JUST NEED FOR YOU TO PICK YHE TRUCK UP YOU RENT A TRUCK AND WE CAN START THE JOB AROUND 9:00?" I called Tony once I read the texts in the morning and the saga became a fiasco. We asked for our money back, he said he didn't have a cancellation policy and that he'd find a way to get a truck. He ignored my calls and texts for a few more hours. Said we were just too much of a problem and stress and that by afternoon he could send our deposit back possibly but that he didn't have a cancellation policy. We actually did rent a truck from uhaul but Tony had been blacklisted and he couldn't be a registered driver on the truck So we said we couldn't proceed and he said -" so you're cancelling? " Tony told me I was bad blood and a nasty person and he had done everything possible to make the situation work. Tony is delusional in his perspective on reality. Beware of him It has taken me a few weeks post this encounter to calmly write this review. He was exhaustingly warped in his spin of reality. I highly recommend that YELP eliminate this company from future bids on move projects. He is not professional, nor courteous , and most importantly in a mover- he is not Reliable Do not use this company and I apologize for anyone who has been burnt by him in the 3 weeks that have past since our nightmare with him
