I was searching for Brix Terrapin Twist and could not find at any of the liquor stores near me. Took a ride to Clifton Commons Spirits and Wine and i did not see any. I asked the person at the register if he had any, and he replied they were sold out within two days of delivery. This right their told me the man knows his beers. He then offered to order more, which i accepted. He went online and checked for availability, ordered and took my cell number. Four days later i received a call the beer was in. Very grateful!! Unfortunately, this is a whiskey/bourbon museum. By that I mean, prices on anything rare or allocated is at a 5-times or greater mark up. No raffle, rewards program, etc. if you want to purchase it, you'll have to stomach being ripped off. Some of the every day bottles are well priced. Staff is nice. read more

Fantastic selection of bourbon that includes a myriad of unicorn bottles. Are the unicorns significantly more expensive than retail? Yes. But the prices absolutely are not absurd and sttupid like you see at many (if not most) liquor stores. Instead, the unicorn bottles are at or below really good restaurant and bar single pour prices. For example, I picked up a Weller Single Barrel at what amounted to $33/pour. And since I wasn't the bartender, I didn't even have to tip. I will be spending a lot of time in Clifton for the foreseeable future and will be stopping in every time I'm there. read more

The selection is fantastic (I always stumble upon a new beer or wine I never encountered before). The prices are solid. But... Most of the workers are a bit standoffish. The location of this store (if you know Clifton Commons you know how popular it is and this 'intoxication station' is right by a really crazy 'intersection' with a 4-way-stop working on the honor system which never pans out all that well) is rough. So there's definitely some pros and cons but if you can get there early enough you can sidestep some of the headaches. (And there's a massive Corona beer-shaped piñata behind the counter that one day I hope to own for a future party.) read more

Stopped into Clifton Common Spirits this week to pick up a few wine bottles for holiday gifts since I was in the area. Even though it's a relatively a small store space, it has everything (wide variety of types of alcoholic beverages, and low to high price points). I was able to quickly find the wines I wanted - Tempranillo (Spanish red) and Pinot Grigio. The cashier was friendly and rang me up fast. I'd definitely come back. Good selection, good prices, friendly service, and an easy parking situation and convenient location in a shopping plaza. I recommend it. read more

I have worked in customer service for 20 years and this place is mediocre at best. A guy, who has a belly, glasses and balding, helped me. I explained to him that the first time I purchased the Sam adams non alcoholic beer was flat and if this happens again, what are my options? He said none as all sales are final. So the second guy (who sent me to this person to ring up my purchase) overheard and was a lot nicer but basically said it is the distributor. So I don't get it.. it has nothing to do with how the liquor store keeps the beer or how cold but all of Sam Adam's fault. Meanwhile, other places that I purchased from, a work prior was ok? Bedside manners need to be worked on. They just lost a customer. Thank goodness for more liquor stores. I hope the guy who rung me up will continue to receive the same service he provided me, from everywhere else! read more

These guys get 5 stars for me. The place is big, brand new its clean, has a great selection of beer, wine and liquor at reasonable prices. It's located right next to Staples and stop and shop and there's a huge parking spot right in front. Anti black racists. They're not the Nice group of people to begin with. That's fine. I went in to return a bottle the had crystallized substance on the top. The woman I bought from allowed me to return it for a new bottle but the male employee next to her decided he didn't want that to happen. He is neither a Store manager nor owner. He even accused me of drinking some of it before I returned it. Ridiculous way to treat long time paying customers. I had to call the police. They still have my money and I still have a bottle with crystals in it. Stop complaining about black people whilst simultaneously treating them like second class citizens. This is NO way to run a business. I'll see them in court. Edit: Owner has since apologized for the way I was treated, exchange was made and the employee reprimanded. Walked in and browsed for about 10 mins. They have a very large selection of wine and spirits. Their beer selection is A+! Customer service isn't great. I would rate customer service at 1 star . No one greeted me when I walked in although there was no other customers in the store. No one ever asked me if I needed help (as said before I was walking around for 10 mins). The store itself had stock ladders and boxes in the aisles although there wasn't a person stocking the shelves. It was about 3:30 in the afternoon when I visited. I assume the shelves would be stocked early opening or during closing... Not when customers are coming in and out ( the aisles are on the narrow side). Nice store though. I will visit again very soon. I hope they fix the small issues they have. Great selection of stuff! read more

If you want to get ripped off come to this store. They sell everything at 5-10x retails price. The problem is some guy with eventually come pay it and they will continue to price gauge customers. A $99 dollar bottle was selling for $900 and his reason was he has to buy a lot of other things to get that bottle! That's how allocation distribution works! Why not raffle them at retail for regular customers to show appreciation not overcharge loyal customers. I'm done shopping at this store, don't waste your money lots of cheaper options close by. read more

Fairly new liquor store located in the Clifton Commons area, next to Stop & Shop and Staples. I wouldn't consider myself a regular (I still get carded every time haha), but whenever I go, the staff has been nothing but spectacular. I wish I remembered her name (I'll have to get it), but there is one woman in particular who works there, and she is fabulous. She's friendly and offers suggestions of what to pair certain drinks with; she is the best. Friendly customer service can go a long way. Very clean establishment too. They regularly have complimentary tastings (I drive past it all the time on my way to Stop & Shop and see free tasting signs), and they have a HUGE selection of craft beers. Prices are average, and the last wine I purchased was on sale. Very conveniently located, and despite the Clifton Commons area being a generally crowded area, there is never a problem for parking. read more

At first, I was impressed by their diverse selection of craft beers and reasonable prices. The employees are friendly, and knowledgeable about their products and offer solid recommendations. What I am not impressed with and downright displeased with is purchasing beer past its "best by" date. On three separate occasions, I've unknowingly purchased beer well past the date. The first time it occurred, I partially blamed myself for not checking. The second time, I mentioned it to the clerk and he said that the distributor hadn't come to rotate the stock. The beer had a best by date of June in December! Yesterday , I purchased a mixed pack of Brooklyn to take to a friends house and wouldn't you know it, BB date of October 2015! Annoying and embarrassing. Nice selection but buyer beware. Stu Lenoards in Clifton and Patsy's Liqours in Lyndhurst offer similar selections and haven't had any issues there. read more

End up burying another wine which was recommended by same staff member which was so horrible and also noticed the wine was overcharged than what been listed.
