After being stranded in ATL with the dreaded "super storm" Sandy (i digress) I arrived home to a 45 degree home. Being a steadfast DIY'r I had procrastinated on firing up the old furnace. I felt it was time what with the hypothermia inducing state of my residence to finally turn my furnace on. I cleaned it out, lit the pilot light, and turned on the thermostat only to find that my furnace would not turn on! I decided I need heat and I needed it now. I called Climatech Chris answered the phone. I told him my furnace wouldn't turn on gave a few technical details about the situation and asked if someone could come take a look. A few hours later I got a phone call from Chris letting me know that a technician would be at my house in 20 minutes (as per my request I needed to let him in the house after all). A white van with the unmistakable Climatech logo pulled up to my house, I greeted him, he introduced himself (David) and I showed him where the furnace was. In about 10 minutes he told me he had identified the problem and that the part to fix it was in his van, he continued to ask permission to fix the problem and gave me a quote. Called Climatech to do a yearly checkup on the ancient boiler in our newly purchased home. We just moved here from CA so I didn't know which end was up on the boiler. I called around 9AM and spoke to a friendly scheduler. They were able to get a technician out that afternoon. They sent Justin who was excellent. I told Justin I had no idea how to work a furnace (he corrected me politely to let me know what we had was a boiler not a furnace showing just how little I knew). He spent the next hour+ teaching me how my boiler worked, what to keep an eye out for, and showing me how to bleed the radiators. He was very friendly and was never condescending despite my considerable ignorance. When he left I felt confident I could handle any small issues with my boiler and bleed the radiators myself next year, but will still have Climatech come in and do a safety check based on the age of the boiler. As a final bonus in customer service Justin checked what I had been quoted over the phone before billing me as the boiler inspection is more expensive than the furnace inspection. Since I had incorrectly asked for a furnace inspection (like a doofus) they had quoted me the lower price (a little over $100) . Justin insisted on charging the lower price even though it was my mistake. From soup to nuts it was great service and I will definitely use them again next year. read more

With what feels like extreme heat in Pittsburgh recently, I started using my air conditioner sooner than I expected and unfortunately, it broke. I called Climatech to come in and fix it, what I didn't expect was that they could also help with my allergies. I lived with allergies all my life, so sinus issues were nothing new to me. I was amazed at the amount of pet dander they were able to clean out of the ducts for me. The crew that came in were very nice, informative and had my air conditioner working fast. I would recommend their service to anyone with central air/heating. And I should probably mention that their price was more than reasonable. Climatech has been serving my family for many, many years. I have always been completely satisfied with their services. Bob, my tech, has always taken care of all of my needs; replacing old equipment with new, more efficient heating units that have saved me so much in heating bills. The air-conditioning units are next. My family kept getting sinus infections, sore throats, and allergy symptoms all this past winter. I checked the filter and it was clean. We called Climatech and they found several problems in the ductwork. We opted to also have them install a new humidifier/dehumidifier system onto our central air. It has made a huge difference.
