Dangerous and unethical - buyer beware. Furnaces have the potential to be lethal, find a real professional and keep your family safe. Admiral installed a brand new Lennox furnace without doing any sort of measurements to determine what size furnace would be safe for our home. Within the first two years, the furnace began leaking carbon monoxide -- the levels were too low to set off our CO alarms, but high enough to cause serious permanent damage to my family (including 3 young children). By the grace of angels we discovered the leak as it worsened in the last couple months and almost became fatal (confirmed by medical follow up). When Admiral came out to fix this, they guaranteed "with 100% certainty" that it was a cracked heat exchanger (which they later denied saying when it was convenient for them). They agreed (after an unprofessional argument) to replace the furnace (which was still under warranty) only with the exact same size furnace. Our home had shown all the symptoms of a furnace that was sized too large (a potential cause of a cracked heat exchanger in a new furnace), so we were scared to replace it with the same furnace without first making sure it was a safe size for our home. We asked Admiral about the sizing and partner Brian glanced up at our basement ceiling and said, "eh, looks ok." We asked them to do the measurements according the Lennox manufacturer recommendation for safety. Admiral strangely blatantly refused, stating they "will absolutely not be doing a load calculation." (Why??) Fast forward -- we had an actual expert come and do the load calculation and, lo and behold, Admiral had given us a furnace that was dangerously large for our home. Also strangely, the furnace manufacturer Lennox offered Admiral a check for $4000 to refund us for the death trap furnace they sold us, but Admiral refused this, too. The local Lennox rep Chris Vicari preferred to do nothing in regards to ensuring the safety of families with Lennox products, because his main concern was losing his commissions from Admiral. Throughout our experience with admiral, they never once showed concern for our family's health, never once apologized, never asked if we were okay or any other questions of concern about our serious health issues from this, spoke condescendingly and insulting while we were scared going through crisis, were difficult at every step as we tried to make sure our family was safe with basic industry standard safety requests, reminded us multiple times what a huge favor they were doing for us by doing the very bare minimum that they could get away with, and were perfectly content to leave us high and dry with permanently injured children. They truly didn't care. I will never understand why they refused to do the right thing and just measure properly when given the second chance to fix this and make sure we were safe. They really felt okay putting in the same dangerously oversized furnace in a home with my 3 children, without first making sure it would be safe. It baffles me. This is not a difficult calculation... it is standard in HVAC. I am in a completely different field and was able to do the load calculation myself without struggle.... I ended up with the same number that the pros ended up with. The owner acted like it was rocket science... while at the same time condescendingly pointing out repeatedly what an expert he was....... The owner Steve only believes that other men are worth his time and has zero empathy... insulting, arguing, and condescending our family the day after it was confirmed that I had nearly lost my life and that my children would now need follow up care for permanent injury... we were scared and in crisis and looking to him to make sure we were safe this time -- giving them the chance to make this right, after their original incident of lazy workmanship had led to this life altering situation (because, they're such "experts" that they don't need to bother with those pesky safety standards - they can just eye it, as they explained to me.)... he really said "funny I have been in HVAC for 30 years and you have been researching for 2 days", how heartless can a person get? (hey Steve, don't you know that no one does better research than a worried mother?? )... his son/partner Brian is a chip off the ol' block and acts like he knows everything, but is almost too incompetent to even have a conversation with. He's lucky his dad gave him a job because he'd have trouble elsewhere with his attitude. Carbon monoxide poisoning on a new furnace is not something that happens often, but it happens - these are NOT the kind of people you want anywhere near anything having to with your family's well-being. It's money and pride over everything for these guys, stay far, far away. Beware! Poor installation and an oversized furnace caused a serious carbon dioxide leak in my daughter's home. I purchased the furnace but Steve liked to say he has never worked with me because it wasn't my house. 3 year old furnace. His reasoning is lame. His story is flawed and misleading because he likes to omit the truth. He also refused to refund me thousands of dollars, even though Lennox had offered to refund him payable to me. Never use Admiral. I recommend Wade Heating..better furnace..and the correct size. If you do use Admiral, make sure they do a load calculation and only purchase the correct size. He refuses to do a load calculation and will be happy to install an oversized furnace. Shop around..your family's life may depend on it. read more

I have a rental in Dormont which the heater hadn't been used since winter . The tenants had a shock when on Monday they decided to crank up some heat and nothing happened . Admiral was quick to respond and reasonable on pricing . Pat the mechanic was efficient and thorough on identifying the issues and also noted filter should be changed cleaned and tightened fittings and Fired That Bad Boy up !!! This is just the beginning of a testimonial upon which I need to elaborate... Let me begin: In the winter of 2020, my 18 year-old furnace was acting-up and needed replaced, however I was not able to replace it at that time. ADMIRAL came out and did some crucial (but temporary) repairs, changed-out the filter, etc. Although it worked, I was warned that (due to the irreparable state of the unit) it may last only weeks or months. Well, after a little over a Year; it finally (permanently) 'bit-the-dust'. In extremely cold February, they returned to replace the furnace...only one problem...I live on a fixed income and it would be impossible for me to pay until my Tax Return and Covid monies were available. Lo and Behold: the kind, empathetic, and ethical Steve Ubinger (co-owner of ADMIRAL) Insisted on helping me and waited for the promised funds. I couldn't Believe it! Who-Does-That--in this day and age?! Anyway, all has been taken-care-of. I (thankfully) enjoyed my cozy house, new furnace, and modern/digital/accurate thermostat. I called to schedule a maintenance appointment for my ac. I was told they would call me back to schedule an appointment. I waited a few days and No one ended up calling me back so I went with another company. The ac unit was too old to be fixed and a new ac unit was installed by the other company. When we moved into our house 3 years ago, the previous owner had a magnet for them on the furnace, so I decided to give them a whirl. We have not regretted it. We have them come once in the spring for AC checkup and once in the fall for Furnace. Our last visit was this past Saturday. Greg is the serviceman that has come each time for the past 3 years. Super nice guy and he is VERY thorough, taking all the components out and cleaning them and doing a thorough inspection. Never replacing things until they actually need them. The best part for us, is that they have Saturday hours... however, there are not set dates. You just call and get put on the Saturday list. On the Saturday they are doing work, they will give you a buzz and see if you are home, if so, they will be there very quickly and if you aren't available, they will call on the next Saturday they are out. I had mentioned that we would be looking into a new AC unit in the near future and even though he wasn't there for that, he took down all of the info and is going to drop us off a quote. They replaced my evaporator coil for $732, including all the related plumbing and recharged the unit. Another vendor quoted me $1805 for the same work. However, they didn't replumb both condensate pan drain lines and I had to call them back out to do that, which they did. Otherwise I would have given them 5 stars. The guy on the phone could just care less about the information I provided him and the request for a consultation. I should've gotten his name, because I am sure he doesn't represent the company as a whole -- whatever the case, after a few moments of arguments and his condescending attitude -- I ended the conversation and moved on. I've never been so pleasantly surprised by a heating and cooling business, ever. My furnace suddenly stopped working last night. Admiral was recommended by several friends, so I called them at about 8:30 PM, fully expecting to just leave a message and be contacted today. To my surprise, someone answered, and said she would "page out" my call to one of the technicians. Sure enough, Greg calls me within 30 minutes and proceeds to *walk me through how to reset my furnace*. I can EASILY see a company showing up and charging $$$ to do this. Greg was so patient and nice about it; we were on the phone for 20+ minutes while I did what he told me. And VOILA my furnace started working again! Then, he called this morning before 8:30 AM to check how it was. Amazing. I know my review might sound fake but I assure you it is not!! Honest, reliable, available...I could go on and on. Have been using Admiral for a few years ! The fixed our old furnace a few times and then we had them to install a new one when it was time to give up on the old one ! I entered a request online after I got home from working evening shift. I had a small space heater to take the edge off a broken furnace. Luckily, temps hadn't dipped too cold overnight. I received a call from Steve (the owner?!) at 8:02 am and he was at my door within 45 minutes. He was very professional and informative. He diagnosed the problem (burnt out ignitor) within 5 minutes and had it fixed within 25 minutes. He left the work area as clean as he found it. If the rest of his crew is as courteous and professional as Steve, I would call his company back in a heartbeat. Cost was quite reasonable - service call, parts, and repair was under $150. My A/C died on a Sunday. They came out on Monday morning. Rick was very courteous and found the problem right away. I used Admiral before because they are a Lenox dealer. What I particularly was very pleased with was he was very proactive. He checked out my whole system and found that I was low on coolant. I hadn't even thought to have that checked.
