Great environment however when a person tells a lab tech, they need an experienced phlebotomist there is a reason for it. My veins roll and they are very small. Because of some tech's inflated ego, I experienced multiple sticks and then she kept moving the needle around inside my vein on my right arm (my right is my dominant hand). Extreme pain, bruising, and soreness even days afterwards. Finally, a more experienced tech took over (after all the torture) and went to the other arm. Afterwards, no bruising on my left arm, couldn't even tell where the needle hole was. My right arm looks like I have track marks. Not happy what-so-ever. Next time I will push back, this is ridiculous! Does this company hire brand new tech's so they can practice on patients??? Not good at all! Day of the blood withdrawal pic 1. However it was not needed and I was able to cancel it right from my phone. We chose this location because of their convenient Saturday hours. They have free parking, and a digital touch screen for checking in once you arrive. There is also an option to check in, and leave your phone number so you can wait in your car outside, but there were only 3 of us there so I did stay inside to wait. The wait time was not very long. While waiting I read that there is an option to register through their portal to receive labs directly to the patient. https://cpl.luminatehealth.com I required 5 different labs drawn for this appointment and am not entirely comfortable with needles /-: However, SONYA was friendly, kind, patient and skilled with the needle. I was very comfortable while she changed out the tubes, many tubes! First time going to CPL. Tech was Not friendly at all. I get she is the only one there. Doing both sides. But come on, you just opened. Never have I had labs drawn and I have to search for fax numbers so results can be sent to drs. But ok, I got them for her. I have no plans on returning to have labs done at this location. read more

Unfortunately they don't have their act together. My wife and I are doing IVF and she asked twice over the phone if they could do the tests we need and send them off to a Dr. out of state the same day. They told her they couldn't do it once she got to the office at all, but why didn't they say that over the phone? Or anytime in the few weeks when before it was scheduled? Doesn't make any sense, other than they are careless or clueless. read more

Horrible. Fasting bloodwork. You will pass out from hypoglycemia before they ever get around to drawing blood. Aparrently in house OJT training takes priority over seeing patients. No one else in the place but me and TWO techs. I waited and waited. I told them I was leaving because they were wasting my time. They said FINE! Too bad they seem to have a MONOPOLY on testing in this area. It would be nice to be able to go somewhere there is humane treatment of patients. This is not that place. read more

Great location 2nd floor in the very back- this particular day there was 3people waiting ahead of me ... total time 35 minutes before I was checked in and about 5 minutes for the draw. Plus it was in the morning when they are busier typically. Compared to the medical center CPLs and shady storefront locations (which maybe open or closed randomly throughout the day) - a thousand percent better. Previously at one CPL I waited 6hours just for a urine analysis... at this location the phlebotomists will even answer the phone... thank you CPL for this location as it will be my go to lab site from now on. read more

I arrived a few minutes early and she kindly offered to let me come in to the lab rather than have me wait outside as she set up for the day. She was prompt and professional. I have to say I was surprised she is a one woman show, from check-in, lab draw, to spinning the blood. I would definitely go back to this location to have my blood work done! read more

I want to commend Kiki and Carlos for their quick and compassionate care today when I started feeling woozy during a blood draw. I have a hard time wearing a mask, and that may have contributed to my distress. Both CPL employees leapt into action and attended to me until I felt better. We had an appointment at 8:00AM and checked in early. However, we had to wait 45 minutes to be seen. Several other people came in after us and got taken in right away. We ended up asking the receptionist if there was an issue. I don't know if they had forgotten about us or what happened, but I feel they should have at least apologized for the delay. I know no one is perfect, perhaps they were having an off day. read more

It is the time of Covid. I don't want to wait unnecessarily long in a lobby. Today I went to the CPL lab location on Sonterra Blvd in San Antonio, TX. I tried to call ahead to see if there was a line. No one answered. 15 minutes later, I am in the parking lot and I call again. Again, no one answered. When I walk into the office, I see only one elderly patient there, he is quickly escorted back for his tests. There were two employees there, at the front desk. Carlos Lopez (Phlebotomist) and a short, roundish looking woman with a very short haircut. She is showing him what to do on the computer. I asked Carlos why no one answers the phone. Not even looking up, he said (tersely) "We were busy." I said "I guess, but I called twice, once 15 minutes earlier and just a moment ago from the parking lot..." and he cut me off in the middle of my statement with (again) "We were busy." Like I didn't hear him right the first time. VERY RUDE. Then I look through reviews on Yelp and Google and sure enough, I see I am not alone. Others complain that no one answers the phone. Seriously? It's call multi-tasking, people. Rudeness seems to be allowed/permitted here because the employees could honestly care less. Terrible place. I wrote to corporate on their website to advise them that SOMEONE needs to address/answer reviews on social media. We'll see how that goes over.... I have a prediction....crickets, I bet. read more

This place is horrible ! I went there for lab works and The girl who works there tried to collect $57 cuz i was cash paying did not have insurance so she said my card did not go through ! I said i have the money ! So i called the bank same moment i was there and the representative told me nothing wrong with me card it's their machines or after that it went through but you know what they did they charged me 3 times of $57 ! She gave me one receipt and overcharged me more than once ! My last time visiting such a fraud place ! I have proof i was charged more than once! Unbelievable! How can a medical laboratory do such things ! Now i'm worried about my lab results they could mixed it up with someone else results .. don't trust this place . read more

The lab its self is great HOWEVER the billing department is still working on claims that are now 7 months old because they just cannot figure it out... They refused to conference call with my insurance company in an attempt to get things straight. I cannot imagine the amount of money they have wasted because they just won't listen to me or the insurance company. read more

Showed up today with the generic lab orders our Doctor provides. The lady in this location told us we need to have our Doctor print the order on a CPL form and was really pretty rude about it. Her problem was she had to look up certain codes for their system. None of her complaining made sense to us so I called the VP listed on their website and complained. He said they use the generic orders all the time and it was her job to look up the codes, and if she did not know one there was an internal number she could call for help. Bottom line for us is we will avoid this location as long as that lady works there. I hope they get her straightened out. read more

Horrible! Second time they have screwed things up. First time, lab results that were supposed to take less than a week took over a month and a half to get results back. They assured me it was a one time issue with the machine they used and it wouldn't happen again. This time, I called first. I needed a blood test and they said it would take 24-48 hours. I took it on Friday and asked if it would be at my doc's office by Monday. They said 'yes'. When I got to the office, I asked the woman drawing my blood the same question and she said, "yes, it would definitely be there by Monday". Guess what! NOPE. In fact, they didn't even bother to send it out the same day. They waited until the following day and, even then, it didn't show up on Monday. I called and they gave me a number to the lab where they do the actual testing. The lady there said it takes 6 DAYS for them to turn over the test because they have to send it out to someone else for processing. So, they lied. Two different people at the office lied to me about how long it would take. Had I known, I would have had time to reschedule my doctor's appointment. Instead, I am now stuck with a fee for not canceling my doc appointment and an incomplete test result. I will not return to the CPL lab on Sonterra. They clearly do not care one bit. read more
