An appointment can be made to any available Quest center. This particular location was located in a strip mall near an HEB plus. Parking was sufficient and easily accessible. Walked into a small waiting area and checked into a self check kiosk. Make sure to bring your DL and insurance card to scan. A tv screen on the wall provided coverage of calling order. Someone would open the door and call name of next person to be helped. Valeri assisted me. She was pleasant and professional. I just came to pick up a specimen container. That's it. Pick it up and take it home. And I either have to make an appointment or wait 60 minutes. Who thought this was a good idea??!! Corporate needs to re-evaluate. Not only that, but there are zero humans when you walk in the door. There's a window where a human presumably should be, but it's blocked off with a kiosk. This place is an absolute joke. I made two appointments and still couldn't get my lab work done. The first time, their computers went down while I was already in the exam room, so they sent me home without doing anything. I decided to give them another chance, and somehow it was even worse. I waited over 20 minutes past my appointment time only to find out their computers were down again. Apparently this is a regular problem, and they have no backup plan. They clearly don't value people's time. If you have to take off work or arrange childcare, don't waste your time here. Two appointments, zero lab work completed. Good on time blood draw that didn't hurt much, but was not bandaged properly so I had a soaked pad and blood dripping down my arm afterwards. When I give blood at the blood and tissue center, they wrap the arm in stretchy gauze so there is some pressure on the vein. No bleeding afterwards. read more

OK, I'm impressed with this outlet of Quest. Made an appointment online a couple days beforehand for an 8:30am appointment. Pulled up at 8:20am, checked in with a scan of the appointment code...and they admitted me at 8:30am on the nose. Friendly service from someone who took a blood sample painlessly from a vein on the back of my hand. Easy-peasy. Parking is plentiful, the waiting room can get full. (As in, all of the 7-8 chairs, which are spaced out for COVID, are filled.) You can also wait in your car and they'll text you. I am here with my wife, who has an appointment. During our wait we experienced rude customer relations with everyone. There was no effort to make anyone feel comfortable about their situation. This was the biggest waste of time. I had to make an appointment just to pick up the collection kit which they didn't even have everything I needed. The tech took all my insurance information at that time. After I went through the hassle of collecting the sample, storing it, making another appointment to drop it off THEN I was told my insurance wouldn't cover it. I would have never gone through all this if I had known. This should have been told to me when I came in the first time. It would have prevent me from wasting my time on all this OR given me the chance to work things out with my doctor and insurance. I will never use QUEST again. The appointment system quite inconvenient too. I was actually at the hospital where there was a Quest location and unable to just pick up the sample kit while there like a normal lab. Actually having to make appointments to pick up and drop off samples is ridiculous. The woman I dealt with when I attempted to drop things off wasn't that apologetic or friendly either, none of this was her fault but when she told me insurance wouldn't cover it and could tell I was upset she had no compassion or customer service skills. read more

The lady who took my blood said I had great veins...I asked to pls use butterfly needles. She said ok..Without saying a word, she poked me aggressively with the largest needle she already seemed to have ready and completely dismissed my request. Did not warm me or say a word on her intentions.... I told her that was very painful and I asked her why she did that when I had asked for butterfly needles... she gave me some excuse... I have been getting bloodwork done since I was 10 and never had an issue using butterfly needles. I didn't even see or hear her open a new pkg so it appeared to me she already had a large needle ready and used it instead of opening a new pkg with a butterfly needle as requested.- I also found the lady to be very direct and almost rude to patients needing help in the lobby. If she can't be kinder or helpful to people and can't respect patients wishes, she should not be in the business or in that location. Please educate your folks to be kinder, helpful , gentle and to respect patients wishes!! - I may go there again if in the future I need to but if she calls me in, I will respectfully decline and wait for someone else! - Thanks read more

Zero stars. THIS LOCATION IS NOT OWN BY QUEST. It is a third party therefore you cannot file a complaint with Quest about this location. They are owned by FastMed. Rude staff and they are always running behind on appointment times. Staff doesn't care enough to let anyone know they are running behind. If you don't have time to wait all day, then DON'T GO HERE!!! I tried calling FastMed to complain. The message said to hold for assistance. After about two minutes the line disconnected. I called 3 times. Each time was the same. This review is with the Nationwide Scheduling department and not with the specific location I finally went to. Again, customer service is my pet peeve. I scheduled a 9:15 appt with this location for March 31. I received a confirmation email. A few minutes later I received a new confirmation for April 5. I made no such change. I called back and they rescheduled me for 9:45 on March 31. When I received that confirmation the following day they changed my location from San Antonio to Houston. The staff makes interactions hostile when they never needed to be. it's almost impossible to speak to a real person because they never have anyone except for a robot when you call, and when youre checking in. Extremely unprofessional. I hope the woman who spoke to me is fired because nobody should ever have to be spat on and belittled like that. Great location and service is exceptional. Phlebotomy staff here are one of the best. Brought my two sons here and they laughed through the entire blood collection. The phlebotomist was very well trained, hit the vein on the first try without any digging or pain and really put the boys at ease. Thankfully, this has been such a wonderful experience for them, they should have no phobias about getting their blood drawn. And then she corrected and double checked our information nice and quick and corrected. The most outstanding experience is that before my son even realize that a needle is going to poke his arm the two tubes are already done. EVERYTHING is automated. You can't even call to ask questions about whether or not they perform a certain test before you waste your time in scheduling an appointment. The phone automation only gives you a run around when trying to get a hold of an actual individual you can talk to. Even the check-in is done with a screen. There is NO receptionist. Any questions? This a good location. They are fast and professional. I went when they first opened at 7:30am. They weren't late opening the doors. As soon as I walked in I was seen within 5 minutes and out the door 5 minutes after that. I am sure they get busy and this isn't always the case but I have been here numerous times and they try their best to get you in and out. Plus they are always smiling. read more

They got me in and out very quickly and were very nice about the fact that I had my child with me, even though it was obviously an inconvenience. I would highly recommend this location. read more
