Their strongest bourbon. 120 proof I think?!

Great cocktails. Great bar area. Friendly management and Laura the bartender is a smoke show. She dropped $100 in the toilet while I was there. (And flushed it) Fresh mixers and the grapefruit slice on my cocktail was delicious!

Dennis was an amazing bartender today. The service is the reason I would make the 30 minute drive back for a cocktail or flight. It is a very clean distillery from the outside to the bar and also the restroom. It gives me that the staff and owner care about the experience. I like you can buy bottles in the distillery as well as sample in 2oz pours. I missed a Bourbon Women's monthly event here and decided to come on my own to try about the spirits. They did not disappoint. Ample parking. Comfortable seating. Menus that were clean and bonded in leather. Mixologist that knew their stuff. I had a great experience.

This place was adorable. we tried the regular old-fashioned and the smoked old-fashioned and both were delicious. We even got a little snack to pair with! I would definitely recommend coming here and checking it out, the service was also great and I would definitely rent this place out for an event. I feel like more advertisement needs to go into this place because of the location and how it's kind of industrial Road but definitely check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Being a big fan of whiskey and always excited try a local brand, I wanted to check out this spot on the way to watch football with some friends. Absolute gorgeous piece of property built into an old warehouse in the industrial section of the area. They have private rooms for rent and huge center space for casually lounging and sipping on your cocktail or spirit. I sat at the bar and ordered a whiskey flight. The bartender was super knowledgeable on the history of the company, the types of different whiskies (and other spirits) and the pros and pros of each. All in all it was a great experience. I was there super early so it was empty at the time, but I can imagine it being popular as word gets out. Try the flight for sure, there's differences you can absolutely taste. Can't wait to go back.

Enjoying our old fashion before tour kick off, which is part of the experience.

We had a great time during our tasting tour at Shankars distillery, First and foremost, this distillery makes excellent Bourbon at this facility with good Gin and vodka also be made here and very nice tequila from their distillery in Jalisco Mexico that is available for tasting and purchase at the Troy distillery. In particular, the bourbons which were the main focus of of this tasting and key reason for our tasting/tour experience have a mash bill that is a little heavier on the corn resulting in a bit sweeter bourbon which I really like. Bottling/alcohol levels run from a 90 proof version to Barrel Proof versions at alcohol levels into the 130 proof region with variances from batch to batch. Relative to the tour itself, it starts out with a premium cocktail where we were served one of the best tasting Old Fashions I have had with a 102 proof bourbon from this distillery as the base for the drink that goes by the name of the 102 Old Fashion (go figure). The cocktail is enjoyed in their tasting lounge while waiting for the tour to start which is upscale and very contemporary adding a nice touch to the event. From there you go into a private room for an introductory film on the business and a nice briefing on the history of the distillery and its wealthy owner who owns a tech firm and started this distillery as a hobby per the staff. Wow what a nice hobby (: Following that, the group toured the distillery which was super cool to see the equipment up close and personal getting an in depth discussion/education on all the stages of making their alcohol from the mash bill (actually tasted the grain as part of tour) through yeast fermentation, distillation, barrel aging in charred bottles and finally bottling of the alcohol. In particular, it really was quite cool seeing their 40 ft tall distillery equipment where I found the whole discussion both fascinating and very educational. Once back in the private room we went through a tasting of four pours that included three bourbons at different proof levels to include one barrel proof and one pour of a rye whiskey. These pours were very generous by any standard and oh soooo tasty. One of the things I really like about these bourbons is that the high octane barrel proof versions, are much smoother and not as hot as many other Boubons of this proof level that I am used to. Think Elijah Craig Barrel proof here which is my all time favorite Bourbon in terms of lower heat and smoothness which I think is a fair comparison here. So not bad company right? Overall, we had a GREAT time at this event that we shared with a group of friends and at a very reasonable cost of $20 a person. The Old Fashion we had at the start of the tour was almost worth that by itself. If you are into good Bourbon as I am and enjoy learning about the process involved in making this or similar alcohols than this is a tour you absolutely need to do. Keep your friends in mind when coming here though as this a great group event for a fun nite out!

Good bourbon, good atmosphere, good prices. They had tvs on current sports so that's good too!

Stopped over today for a whiskey tasting experience. To call this a 5/5 is an insult but unfortunately it's the highest I can go. The whiskey is phenomenal. The service is phenomenal and my only disappointment is that they had been open since July and this was my first visit.

We were excited to hear that there was a new distillery in Troy! We had a couple of hours to kill and decided that it was the perfect time to check it out. This is located in an industrial area. It doesn't look like much from the parking lot. But we were pleasantly surprised when we walked in. This distillery is warm and chic. We were quickly greeted. We had the best bartenders taking care of us and really had so much fun here. We like to make every experience fun and this is one of these examples! We had so much fun!! I started off with the Lakeside, which was light and refreshing. He got the Bad Monkey which was a bit more adventurous. He then chose a bourbon flight and I got a Peach Old Fashioned. Our drinks were amazing!! They do not have food but there are plenty of places that they suggest for delivery. This is a place we will likely frequent! Definitely recommend checking it out.

I had my baby shower at Antica Nova this past Saturday and the whole experience was perfect…read more There was an issue with the previous restaurant we were going to use for the shower and we are so grateful they could accommodate us here. We had a few options for private rooms, but they suggested the main dining area for the lighting, which was really nice. There were multiple linen options we were able to choose from (pink options in pic) and these were included in the total cost. The whole room was set up according to how many seats we wanted at each table and they were fully prepared for us to start decorating as soon as we arrived. The personal bartender also arrived early and prepped the station long before guests arrived. The food was all delicious. We had buffet style (set up shown in one picture by fireplace). Way too busy enjoying ourselves to take pictures of food. The buffet was about 10 minutes later than expected, but there was a party of 80 at the same time and no one seemed bothered by this. We chose chicken tenders and fries for the kids attending and this was promptly served about 15 minutes before the buffet so the parents were able to help feed before getting their own food. Rolls- really classic white bread rolls. Exactly what you want. Green beans - these were sooo good! Very buttery and surprising! Potatoes- hasselback style, cut in halves. Also so buttery and perfectly salted. Tuscan chicken- thin sliced chicken breasts with sun dried tomato and a creamy Tuscan sauce. This was extremely delicious. Salmon- I cannot remember the flavor we chose but perfectly cooked and flavorful, cut into about 1.5" pieces so it didn't feel overwhelming to choose one of everything. Salad - classic salad with tomato and cucumber. We chose a ranch and vinaigrette. The table had Parmesan cheese, half and half creamer, sugar, and butter available. They allowed us to bring in our own cupcakes as dessert ($1/person) and served regular/ decaf coffee with this. This room could definitely fit more people. Our set up was 6 round tables of 6 but they were very flexible with how we wanted these set up and number of chairs per table. Overall, great experience. I can't wait to come back for dinner!

The menu was extensive with some vegan options. Service was relatively slow and the restaurant was not crowded. Our food was okay and very underwhelming. We sat at the bar and had to wait a while before even getting menus. This kind of service continued for the rest of the night and we honestly felt ignored and forgotten. Once we got our food (we ordered the Tacos Mexicanos) we had to wait again for silverware. The bartender never came by to check on us after receiving our food so we ended up having to flag down a different server. And then instead of being able to ask the bartender for a margarita, I had to flag down a different server AGAIN to put my drink order in. This place seemed super hectic and disorganized. Food runners did not seem to know where they were going and had to yell across the place to ask the servers who ordered the food they were carrying. Not sure if they don't number their tables but it was super distracting and made them look unprofessional. The food itself was mediocre. This is the outdoor space behind Mojave Cantina so they share a menu/kitchen. I thought the meats were quite dry and needed some acid or some kind of brightness to wake them up. I thought the space itself was really cute though. And I love a themed out bathroom and the sliding doors with the hook locks were super fun. Overall, probably would not come back to 54 West.

They were just opening up, but they let us sit at the bar while they got the restaurant ready for dinner. We all got drinks at the bar. He was super friendly and answered all of our questions regarding the menu. Here's what we got: - Michigan lamb ragu (his) - Lobster and shrimp pad thai (mine) - Crab and shrimp cakes (share) - clam chowder (share) His family got some of the same items, but I can't remember the different items they got. The overall consensus though was that everything tasted fantastic. Coming from the Bay Area, I have high expectations when it comes to Asian food, so I was pleasantly surprised by how great the pad thai tasted. The clam chowder was creamy and delightful. The crab cakes were the perfect size and not teeny tiny. The lamb ragu was very well done also and my husband is a big fan of lamb so he really enjoyed his meal. Since we were there early, it was quiet which was nice. Would definitely return in the future the next time I am in Michigan.

I got the "burnt orange espresso tonic" and a "rosemary biscuit". Both were amazing. The biscuit was warm and buttery and the included jam (which appeared house made) was the perfect compliment. The flavors were all distinct but complimentary and made this into a spectacular treat. The espresso tonic is the best I've had. The flavor was fresh, light and fruity, with the bitterness of the coffee keeping it grounded and sophisticated. I even ate the orange slice at the end. The wait for my drink was probably about 7-10 minutes but knowing that in the future, I'm willing to plan around if the product is going to be this good. I can see it being a hassle for some older, less mobile patrons. When you need something, it does cause some issue. I sat outside for the first really warm weekend. The table could have used an umbrella. The espresso martini is good. Ordered a Greek salad plus chicken. Just okay for $19. Dressing was good but not standout. For my first time, we ordered a large Mom's House pizza. There is always a concern with tomato on a pizza. With the tomato, cheese, and amount of toppings, the pizza was soggy. Not sure if this is a common issue, or if the crust was undercooked or maybe too much cheese. I deleted the photo. We didn't mention it to the server. Probably should have. Did not want to be that guy though. Took the L. My two patrons ate one slice. I ate two. Threw the rest of the soggy pizza away. I thought it tasted solid, but the sogginess ruined it. The soggy pizza was served without a slice spatula/server - which made the pizza hard to grab. We didn't bother to ask if one was available. I will try another pizza for a second chance. My other patrons would be hard pressed to come back. The soggy pizza ruined their first time opinion. Lastly, the pizza and salad bowl are served on beige, recyclable plates and bowl. While I understand the convenience, it comes across as tacky and limits the ambience. Old pics show the Greek salad presented in a nicer bowl.
