Wouldn't recommend getting your poodle cut here as my dog came out looking like a different breed (the man that worked there said I that for poodles they try to brush out the curls but if it's too knotted they just use the clippers as brushing the hair could hurt the dog, I do brush my dogs often especially my poodle so I was a little confused when she came out with a buzz cut but that's fine it's just hair and it'll grow back) BUT I will say my golden retriever's cut looked great! Both dogs did have a good experience and didn't seem stressed when I picked them up. The service was rather quick too, dropped both dogs @ 8am and they were both done by 11am. read more

I've been taking my dogs there for years, always with fantastic results. Our current dog is from a shelter and has a few socializing problems, which they know about. But they agreed to groom him and did a fantastic job, he was a mess. We had been camping and during tick check we would find knots and cut them off with the expected results. Sandy straightened it all out and he looks beautiful! Highly recommend this groomer. read more

We used to take our dogs there but found the owner Sandy to be volatile and rude. She has no customer service skills - has to be "right" and seems to be overwhelmed and short tempered and explodes. Who needs to be treated like that?! We like to keep our business local and chose other groomers who were a lot more pleasant to deal with. read more

Very disappointed with how we were treated by Sandi. We boarded our dog here for 10 days. While we were away we'd call to check up on him and she'd be sarcastic with her responses saying "he sure is a messy dog and poops a lot" then we called the morning we scheduled to pick him up and this was Sandi's response "when is your ETA? I have better things to do than wait for people like you to get your dog on my day off" extremely rude and unprofessional. We definitely won't be going back. read more

This place is awesome! We have an AK Husky and every time she comes home she not only looks great but is so happy to have been groomed. These folks know huskies and all other breeds and their quirks. I highly recommend them. My expectations were exceeded every step of the way. read more

We've been taking our two Goldendoodles here for years and had spotty service in the past. Every time we drop our pups off for grooming my wife describes the type of cut we want and it hasn't been too much of a problem. I've noticed over the last couple of cuts that they are cutting them more and more like poodles, which we have explained over and over again that WE DO NOT WANT. So, this morning my wife and I bring the dogs in for a grooming and I remind Sandy (the owner) that the dogs are not poodles and I'd prefer them not be cut like a poodle (Puffy tails and heads). She then starts aggressively questioning me as to what specifically I wanted. I responded that I just didn't want them to have a poodle's hair cut, simple. She got more aggressive asking what I wanted then, at the same time storming off into the grooming room... saying, "I'm not going to spend an hour discussing with me how to groom my dogs". She then pulled one of my pups out of her cage and placed her on the grooming table, pout her head in a noose and insisted that I explain to her exactly how I wanted the dog cut. At this point I was getting mad and explained to her that I was not a dog groomer, had no idea how to cut a dog's hair and all I was saying is that I did not want her to cut my dogs hair in a way that you would cut a poodle (Puffy tails and heads). As this entire conversation continued, Sandy (the owner, if you can believe that) kept escalating the argument higher and higher, never once trying to cater to the customer and keep my business. I was beside myself as I ended up in a full blown out argument with this women at 8am on a Saturday morning which never had to happen. It all ended with her yelling at me uncontrollably and telling me to take my dogs and to leave her shop, which I did as fast as I could. As I left, she commented to my wife that she was welcome to bring the dogs back to be groomed, anytime she liked, but not me... this will of course never happen. After reading prior reviews (which I had never done before, clearly to my detriment) I find it amazing that this women stays in business. She is rude, aggressive and shameless in her pursuit to be right. Not only will we never darken her establishment again, but we are going to make sure to pass this story around to everyone we know to make sure that everyone else knows how inappropriate 'Sandy' from the Clip Shop is! read more

this place takes excellent care of my german shepherd kaos when i go away. kaos is hard to manage because she is so timid but i know i don't have to worry when i drop her off. sandy is the owner and she is very kind and remembers you when you come. its a very welcoming environment for dogs. the dog grooming is great too! kaos smells so wonderful and is so soft when she leaves this place. and you get a nice little bow tied around her collar. overall excellent experience! read more

Owner hung up on me. Also held my dogs hostage when I returned to get my dogs ASAP! Police had to be called just to get my dogs back! Paid and finally got my dogs and was told off by the thing (owner) and some random scrawny elderly man. First time ever I brought my one dog there I was told a different price so they honored it once and then going forward we did the normal price with no problems. Been there over 15-20 times. Today I brought my 24 pound dachshund for just bath and nails and my other dog and was told my dachshund would be 20. Brought him in, called for price and she jacked it up on me and then fought me and hung up on me. If someone treats customers like this, how do they treat dogs!! Know a few people who have gone there and has had issues with the owners attitude. Shame on her and her business. It will be my job to make sure everyone knows of these problems read more

OK, so I read some of the other reviews and am very surprised by some of the negative feedback. Let me start by saying when I moved to the area, I looked at a ton of boarding facilities and this was by far the cleanest and friendliest place around. Another reviewer mentions no visibility to the downstairs kennels. My dogs stays/stayed in them all the time. I would also like to see what they look like but I trust the owner and the staff that they're well kept and my dogs/cat are taken care of. Many times the kennels downstairs are used for elderly dogs who cannot do stairs, easy access to the yard. I truly believe they do care for the dogs individually and as they would their own. Over the 3 or so years I've been using them I've lost my lab. They cared for her so well and were so good to her. I now have a very elderly Bullmastiff and they are beyond sweet to her and give her tons of love. They're diligent with medications and I just can't say enough great things about them. Occasionally they watch my cat and have even kept my rabbit for a few days. They're extremely accommodating. So take some of these negative reviews with a grain of salt. This is a terrific facility and as the PICKIEST dog owner ever, I think they're amazing. read more

From the start, we were impressed by how much the owner understood about the overall wellness of our dog, not just seeing her as a hair cut. Each time we have visited, in addition to a GREAT groom for our dog, we've received gentle and practical suggestions for how we can best care for her skin and coat and help her through the stress of an aging and changing body. As we see our longtime canine companion struggling with achey hips and hearing loss, what a comfort it is to know we can bring her to a place to be groomed, where she will be taken care of by someone who has such compassion for her WHOLE self, a groomer who truly understands canine behavior and needs. I brought my rescue dog to have her nails clipped. She is a bear so I gave her a tranquilizer, but it doesn't do much once the clippers come out. I heard the woman inside say that we will not be allowed back because my dog is too difficult. When I told her I heard that, she shouted at me that my f'n dog scratched the $hit out of her arm. Then she proceeded to tell me I ruined her day and charged me $10 more for the inconvenience. I will not be returning. read more

I took a tour of the place and I loved the inside of the place but hated the location (near highways) and hated the yard. The yard did not look clean and the fence was falling apart. During my tour they showed me where my dogs were suppose to stay, but the day I took the dogs even though the kennels they showed me were empty they decided to bring my dogs to a downstairs kennel which they never offered to show me. They stated the downstairs kennels were just as nice as the upstairs kennels but they never offered to show me. I felt uncomfortable and uneasy but since their upstairs kennels were state of the art and very clean, air-conditioned and heated I decided to ignore how I felt. So although I hated the location and their yard I loved their inside kennels. I also felt a little angry and bothered that they did not offer to show me their downstairs kennels. I felt they pulled a bait and switch on me. I did not like that they showed me where my dogs were going to be kept during my tour and then changed it but I already had scheduled my trip. While they were very nice to me when I had visited the facility they were very rude to my husband and me when we went to pick the dogs up. The bill was about $800 yet the lady was upset that we picked the dogs up 30 minutes early. She was very rude and very mean... basically she thought we were wasting her time since she had other errands to run. I did not think she was the owner but when I called to complain I found out she was the owner!!! I was very surprised since I expected a worker to treat us poorly but never an owner of a business. It is not a place I recommend as the owner is extremely rude. I also feel that if they show you where your dog is going to be kept they should not switch it on you then not offer to show you where your dog is going to be kept. While I was gone I did decide on having my dogs groomed before I picked them up. They charged me $90 to groom my Siberian Husky which had already been groomed two weeks earlier and she stated that it was $90 because the dog was severely matted which was not true as my dog was groomed 2 weeks earlier and gets groomed every 6 weeks. I have used the same groomer for many years and she has never told me my Siberian Husky has been matted. Not a place I would recommend unless you like to be treated like trash when you pay top dollar!!! read more

I just wanted to thank you all for the great grooming job you did on my sheltie, Maggie and my yorkie Maestro!! My yorkie has been feeling so down lately due to his diagnosis of congestive heart failure and all he did was sleep. I took him to you last week and he's a different dog!! He's jumping around and so happy!! It doesn't even look like he's sick now. Sandy, when you said you would be giving Maestro some extra TLC, well what a difference a day of pampering did for him!! My wife and I rescued a wonderful German Shepherd 3 months ago, and he instantly stoled our hearts. I researched several local kennels to use because we both travel often. Finding a place that really cared about Jethro was very important to us, so we decided to try the Clip Shoppe, and I'm glad we did. The owner, Sandy knows, and understands dogs, and her staff is friendly and all love Jethro. More importantly, Jethro is very happy to see the folks at Clip Shoppe when we arrive to drop him off. To me, our dog is the best judge. When he sees anyone on the Clip Shoppe staff he is very happy to see them. Jethro is in love with Sam! He is at the Clip Shoppe this weekend. After I dropped him off Sandy called me to tell me she thought Jethro had a bladder infection. She immediately offered to handle the situation, by running a sample to our vet, and I believe they will do anything for our dog while he's there. It breaks my heart every time I drop Jethro off however, knowing he is well cared for, and loved while he's there makes it much easier to leave him. I wouldn't take him to a place I didn't trust. We have him groomed when he stays there and he looks, and smells great when we pick him up! Most important to us, he is happy. It's a great place for grooming, and boarding! read more
