For context, we typically only bring our cats in about once a year when their winter coats begin to shed. Because of this, it's especially important that the grooming is done thoroughly and by someone experienced. We had previously been loyal clients of Kim, who consistently handled our cats with efficiency and care. Grooming is very stressful for them, so finding someone capable and experienced was extremely important to us. With Kim, we could always count on a full, thorough service: bathing, drying, shaving where needed, knot removal, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and sanitary care. That level of care is why we were willing to travel and pay a premium. When we arrived this time, we were surprised to learn the business was under new ownership. We decided to give it a chance. We dropped our cats off at 9:00 AM as the first appointment of the day and were told the process would take approximately 3 hours, which we were completely fine with. Around 11:20 AM, we received a brief call asking if one of our cats should be shaved. We were told they would use their judgment, and that was the only communication we received. By 1:00 PM (now 4 hours later), we returned to check in. What we found was extremely concerning: * One cat had reportedly urinated out of stress and, according to staff, nothing beyond a basic cage bath had been done. * We were also told at that point by Donna that she was uncomfortable handling him and that he would need to be sedated for grooming in the future. This was alarming to hear, as this has never been an issue in the past, he was always successfully groomed by Kim without sedation. * The other cat was still in the process of drying after only being bathed. * Neither cat had received any of the grooming services we came in for (no haircut, no knot removal, no nail trimming, no ear cleaning, etc.). * One of our cats was left drying in a cage next to a continuously barking dog, despite other quieter, more isolated spaces being available. * Both cats were visibly terrified. There had been no proactive communication to inform us of any issues, delays, or inability to complete the grooming. After over four hours, essentially no meaningful grooming had been performed. While Donna was polite, it was clear that she was uncomfortable explaining the situation. Only after we arrived did they begin attempting to brush one of our cats, which raised concerns about whether anything would have been addressed had we not shown up when we did. We ultimately left with two cats who were still matted, unkempt, and significantly more distressed than when we dropped them off. Our main concern is not just that the grooming wasn't completed; it's the lack of communication and the apparent inability to handle cats in a setting that claims to offer those services. Based on this experience, the facility does not appear properly equipped or experienced in feline grooming. We were offered complimentary future services, but unfortunately, this experience has completely eroded our trust. No incentive would make us feel comfortable returning. If you are a cat owner, especially with breeds that require specialized grooming, I would strongly recommend asking detailed questions about experience and process before booking here.

Leaving my annual review update for my favorite groomers/ people!…read more I just can't believe it has been over 10 years since I first brought my rescue Puffy and they so generously groomed her after she was neglected for so long. I still can't believe they took us on a busy Saturday. I still can't believe they were so patient with her. And I still can't believe that I had to fight them to take my money! Having them take care of my own baby who they never made stay in the crate because i spoiled him and so he hated them. And who they opened up early for to do his last grooming before he passed. To now caring for my new baby Barron and he looking like a million bucks every time he leaves! A poodle with parents that don't comb/ brush him as they should... and squeezing us in when they can because busy is not the word! Honey if you groom like they do, care for one's fur baby like they do and are affordable in this day and age of gouging grooming salons - you simply stay busy. As they should! I'm so proud of their growth and the relationships they form with their customers and most importantly their furry clients. I drive over an hour to get to them. And when I travel or they are booked my poor baby has to get Mom's bad in between face cutting BUT I refuse to go anywhere else. Ever. Just not worth it. I was so excited to get an appointment with Jen's daughter Andrea She shaved my dog (in December! ) to the skin. Terribly lazy and incapable. I asked to shave the mussel it was not even trimmed. Tried to bring my friendly dog back, he refused to go. He happily goes to the vet but not there. I advised of my asthma and no perfume- the dog smells like sweet vomit a mile away. Note 38 pound Portuguese water dog is considered large and the charge is $120 plus charges and tax.

He was grogy, and didn't want to play. A few days after he got his haircut, he threw up and was back to normal. I'm CONVINCED that he was given something here to calm down during his haircut. I mentioned this to a friend of mine who runs local adoptions and knows a lot about the different animal hospitals and groomers in the area and she said she also had one bad experience here and she said had she known I was planning on taking my dog here, she would have told me otherwise. I highly recommend not coming here --- a mediocre haircut is not worth getting your dog sick.

I have gone here twice. The first time was to simply get my dogs nails cut. She's a medium sized…read moredog, around 50 lbs and very docile. The woman handled her like a beast that needed to be put down and very aggressively cut her nails. I was waiting for a yelp of pain, but the woman got the job done with okay results. I forget how much that cost, but it wasn't unreasonable. Some time later, I brought my dog back to get her hair cut. She's not shaggy but her hair definitely grows out and needs to be trimmed, especially around her legs which start to look like fuzzy boots. So I bring her in the morning and a few hours later my brother goes to get her, pay, and bring her home. First of all, the cut cost something like $40 (I could be wrong on this since it was quite awhile ago, but it was definitely on the expensive side.) This wasn't for high end grooming, all we requested was a trim with clippers. When she got home, my first question was "why didn't they cut her hair?" It looked like they barely touched her. There certainly was some work done, because her aforementioned fuzzy legs were slightly less fuzzy, and her fur was freshly brushed, but in no way could this even be considered a trim. It was definitely not worth $40. I considered going back and complaining, but it just wasn't worth my time. Instead we bought clippers and do the work ourselves from now on.
