Jennifer used to work for a vet and recognized the dire symptons. Frantically calling us she drove our dog to Kalamazoo Emergency Pet Hospital. Due to the 3 hour time gap we finally picked up our phone and got Jennifer just mins from the hospital. We gave our permission for surgery and called the hospital to give our credit card #. Their main room has rugs, chairs, and sofas for the dogs to lounge and rest on, as well as plenty of room for them to socialize. We boarded our Coraline there for a few nights once, and periodically bring her in for a day of daycare. For overnight boarding, they have private areas for dogs that range in amenities. Some will have their very own personal seating area, and bed, or there are also crates for them to sleep in if they need that. Coraline LOVES this place. As soon as I let her out of the car, she starts lunging for their front door. When she gets home from a day of daycare, she goes off to a quiet corner to nap right away, which I take to be a good sign because hopefully, that means that she wore herself out having fun with her little furry friends there! We've been to other places in town, but like this one the most because it always feels so warm and inviting. Two warnings: 1) They require reservations for day care and boarding. We were told the last time we dropped her off that they wouldn't take our dog for daycare again unless we called ahead of time (obviously, we didn't know about the reservations-only policy because no one ever told us about one before then), and 2) it's CASH ONLY, which is a pain because I seldom have cash on me. Luckily, there's an ATM at the Walgreens down the street. (The website doesn't list much information, AT ALL, so call, or stop by to grab some informational sheets from them.)

It is super soul nourishing just to watch the dogs run with wild abandon across this enormous expanse of space. If your dog prefers water to land, no problem. They also have a separate fenced-off pond area. They've recently added in a little pub area call the Thirsty Hound, and they've applied for a liquor license for it. It's got a nice little fenced-in patio area what a beautiful view of the grounds, pond, and the sunset. These were not received for the first two days until I called to enquirer - somehow I opted out of text messages but paid for this upgrade????? Once I finally got the pictures, one showed my dog with large amounts of drool and fluid/foam coming out of her mouth - which has never happened before. Called asap the next morning to be assured everything was OK...... Finally picked them up only to have the one dog have severe dehydration and diarrhea of which required an emergency vet visit on a Sunday morning (less then 24 hours from bringing them home). $400 later with fluids and meds the dog is getting back to normal. Additionally I paid for baths for the dog, which were never done however still charged... Their initial response to this was a "future credit for a bath". They also claim to have a $500 pet care promise of which I am still unclear what this covers as they had no intention to cover my pets emergency vet visit. They did end up refunding the bath they never performed, however I would give this place NO recommendation and will never be back again.
