My golden retriever was completely shaved except his head and part of his tail. The groomer is super nice and I did not notice how bad he was until I got outside. He was shaved and shaved to the skin. He has four bleeding sores now from razor burn. He can't stay outside because he is getting sunburned. There is no fixing this. I wanted him short, but not shaved. I wanted his ears trimmed, his fringe short and his chest and legs trimmed and his undercoat combed out.

I'm iffy about this place. I took my cat there maybe? 3 times and I've always felt uneasy but I couldn't find anywhere else to take my cat. :( They are unprofessional and it's always loud (dogs barking) when you enter because they have the dog kennels where they keep the dogs right in the "waiting area". This can obviously stress out the cats. Also, when I drop my cat off they leave her on the ground right in the waiting area. One time I asked how my cat did and the owner said she was a b**ch. I mean, stuff like that you don't say to your customers and that's very unprofessional. Even if my cat was mean, it could have been said in a different way. Also, when I said I felt uneasy, it's because I felt like thy were mean to my cat. Anyways, I am sooo very happy and relieved to not go back to this place anymore. (I wasn't going to anyway.) I found an actual vet place that is award winning and offers cat grooming services. They charge more but it's worth every penny to have peace of mind for me and my fur baby. read more

If I could leave ZERO stars, I would! But since you're required to leave a star to do a review, I unfortunately had no choice. Google reviews are giving this place a 4.6 star rating and all I want to do is WARN people please DO NOT take any of your furbabies here! A friend of mine took their doodle and their sweet baby came home with a terrible haircut, BUT I wish I could say that is all their furbaby came home with but unfortunately their sweet dog also came home with gashes and cuts all over his body!! To top it all off, these incompetent people will not answer any calls or texts from my friends regarding this heartbreaking situation! My friends dog is now traumatized, withdrawn, very anxious, and visibly shaken from how he was treated by these people. Animals do not have a voice to take up for themselves. We have to be their voices. So I am taking a stand and posting this review. These people are HORRIBLE and need to have their licensure REVOKED! Pet parents, beware! And please DO NOT TAKE YOUR FURBABIES TO THESE PEOPLE!!! read more

I took my very old snippety Siamese here and the owner was amazing. She patiently combed her knotted hair out and my cat said absolutely nothing. Very rare for a Siamese not to complain...so hats off to these folks. I'll be coming back. read more

My family and I went on vacation and boarded one of our babies here that struggles meeting new people. They did wonderful with her. We were so happy to know that she was taken care of while we were away. They made sure she got her medications and anything we asked of them. This place is great and I will always recommend anyone to use them. The owners did an amazing job with our baby. They helped me keep my sanity while I was away as well. They know what they are doing and it shows!!! I wouldn't trust any other place but them. read more

I wished I could give more than five stars. I love this place and the owners are WONDERFUL . They are really AMAZING people. I have boarded my dog here And they were great. They didn't mind me calling and checking on her every day. They have great runs and they do a fantastic job on grooming and taking care of your babies. Anything your fur babies need, This is the place to go. read more

We have been taking our dogs to clippers n' bows in Rome ga for 2 years . I called to make an apt and the owner was rude . When i asked for the dogs to have their ears plucked the owner replied with ok so you want them torchered. I said well I hope not considering the vet said they need it since they are poodles. I thought maybe she was just having a bad day and brushed it off. I take the dogs the day of our apt and she was even more rude when I dropped them. My male always has a Mohawk. He was shaved completely. He had no knots in his Mohawk. We will NEVER be back .. I also used to send people here but I will never do that ever again. We have always been nothing but nice to these people.. the owner was extremely rude . I have also had a friend that left for the same reasons from her own experience. read more

I love the staff at Clippers N' Bows!! I've been taking my babies there for over 15 years. My dogs LOVE going to see Jennifer and Nikki!! My dog always come out looking and smelling wonderful. They are always accommodating and are very knowledgeable about animal behaviors and their health!! I wouldn't trust my babies with anyone else!!! read more

Ten years ago my husband and I received a 4 year old YorkiePoo named Riley. He needed a home that had someone there during the day. He has been the joy of our life. When we got him it had been a long time since we had a dog and I stopped by Clippers N' Bows to see if I could get some help. Jennifer was friendly and helpful even though I was not a customer, yet. Since then she has been Riley's only groomer and we have become friends. She has always done a good job, was helpful if I had questions, and recommended a trip to the Vet if she saw something that needed checking. I recommend her to everyone. I have read some of her reviews and know that things happen we don't like, but that happens in doctor's offices, etc. We lost Riley a month ago to stomach cancer, and she groomed him right before he died and was gentle, caring, and loving with him. I plan on following up with my regular veterinarian to solve this issue in the near future. Dr. Pate gave the cat a steroid shot then asked if we would like an appetite stimulant since the cat has not eaten in 2 days due to the pain. He did not offer any fluids since the cat was dehydrated after not eating and drinking for 2 days. We assumed it would be in an injection, but it was a pill. Dr. Pate proceeded to shove it down the cats throat; my cat was in extreme pain and screamed. In addition, he offered no instructions regarding a follow-up with our regular vet or if we needed to keep the cat on antibiotics prescribed by our regular veterinarian. When asked a question, he seemed irritated with us. I felt like he wanted to get us to leave and was not sympathetic at all towards my cat. We also felt like Dr. Pate was condescending and trying to talk above our heads, even though we have experience in the veterinarian field. I am extremely upset with his behavior. He caused my cat to be in unnecessary pain over an appetite stimulant, when the steroids will most likely increase the cats appetite. I felt like he wanted to give us extra medication in order to make more money. I do not recommend ever going here if you care about your pet.

You can hear everything between the two rooms as there are no doors. When asked by myself to please wash his hands, he lied and said he had already done that, but walked over to the sink and ran the water for 5 seconds before walking right back in with hands not even wet, so he didn't even do that. That isn't even what I'm most livid about today. During this visit, my dog was weighed and came in at 44 pounds. She was given her new prescription for Simparica Trio, and was sent home with the incorrect dosage... a dosage for TWICE the size of my dog- 88 to 132 pounds. Having noticed that after giving the pill to my dog while cutting out the open pocket of packaging, my heart immediately sank. I ChatGPTed what to do , and also called my vet friend who lives out of town. She said to get her to the ER within 2 hours to have her throw it up. I tried calling the office and their emergency extension and left voicemails, and no one ever called me back, not even the next day to apologize and see how she was. When I emailed them the bill and proof of incorrect dosage, I was responded to the next day with a belittling message and a note saying they would have to seek legal council. All I asked for was a reimbursement of the medication and the trip. They said they could swap out the medication and reimburse the difference if I sent them the bills. But I just moved out of town and don't even live there anymore to do that, but who would want to ever go back there after this?? After all this, they didn't even bother to look at the fact that I already sent them all the information for reimbursement.

I told them I thought it was a hernia they checked her out and said keep an eye on it that it was just a little hard not after the surgery. It seems to bulge more when she is tight or when she moves. I've taken my animals here for many years but have never let them do surgery on any of them until now. I wish That I had not done that and I will never take animals for surgery to North broad animal clinic. But they're close by so I might take my animals for other smaller procedures like shots and checkups.

Since i cant leave a review on their FB page, I'll leave it here. In the beginning, Clippers N Bows was great. That's what makes this so frustrating. We trusted them with our doodle, Jack, and kept coming back because things started off well. But the quality has clearly gone downhill, and this last visit was the final straw. Every single time, we ask them not to shave his face. Some groomers will explain that shaving is necessary if a dog is matted, but we've never once been told that was the case with Jack. No warning, no communication, just another appointment where he came back looking like a completely different dog. But the haircut wasn't even the worst part, this time, Jack came home with injuries. Nothing was said when we picked him up. It wasn't until we were in the car that we noticed the wound on his snout. Then we found more cuts and nicks. These weren't small accidents, they were obvious, painful, and should have been addressed. And let me be clear, Jack is the most docile dog in the world. He doesn't squirm, snap, or make grooming difficult. This wasn't the result of a difficult dog, it was the result of rushed, careless work. We sent photos to the groomer and asked for an explanation. No response. No apology. No accountability. And honestly, if they had just acknowledged the mistake and made some effort to fix it, we wouldn't be here. We're not the type to leave bad reviews or go to social media, but when your dog comes home hurt and you're met with silence, what choice do you have? We can visibly tell that Jack is traumatized by the experience. He's been withdrawn, anxious, and uncomfortable since coming home. We don't mind paying $75 to $100 for grooming, we've done it for years. But when that price starts buying you poor communication, rushed jobs, and visible wounds, it's time to walk away. I just heard that you guys had a puppy die in your care and didn't even notify the owners until she had passed.... The puppy had blood in its poop and you guys didn't notify or think anything of it. You are careless and it's unfortunate you even have a business. I have heard of so many animal cruelty complaints. I will never take my sweet babies here. read more
