While passing through town, I got off the highway to eat at a local diner. Said diner was closed on Mondays, and someone recommended I come here. The ambiance is extremely casual, with an unusual menu mixing the most casual items (potato skins, mozz sticks, grilled cheese) and upscale items such as filet mignon and lobster tail. I ordered the manicotti and meatball with a side salad and bread... probably the most fancy thing I've ordered on the road to date! The bread was very very soft and served with a good whipped butter. I liked it more than expected actually. The salad was pretty lack luster (chopped iceberg and tomatoes... and I don't like tomatoes ... which only left me with lettuce). The house dressing is what made the salad good and I would totally recommend it. It's an oil with seasoning. Still, I think the salad could be jazzed up a bit. The manicotti dish was not bad but if I were a local, I would order something else next time. The manicotti seemed like it was frozen instead of made in house. If it is made in-house, the filling needs more flavor. The meatball itself was not bad and did not seem frozen. If you're a texture person, it has a soft bite to it and has a good size. I could not finish more than 1/2 the meal. The sauce was excellent and had a great consistency. Service was friendly and I was served quickly. I don't regret my detour here and I enjoy supporting local businesses while on the road! read more

Food was bland and overpriced. Party of 4 and 3 out of 4 of us were extremely disappointed in the food. I was lied to about my crab cakes ingredients. Took 1 bite, had a reaction due to a food allergy. Told them it also tasted disgusting, which it did, and they still charged me. French fries were great. Only thing that was edible. read more

My team from work had our Christmas luncheon here. There were about 13 of us, my count could be wrong. The service was wonderful, the food was excellent and I was thinking I need to eat here more often. Definitely recommend. read more

Decided to go here because 1.) It's a family run business since 1949 and 2.) Monday night Strip Steak special. So...I was a bit concerned when I sat at the bar and the bartender asked me what I wanted and then said she didn't know how to make a Manhattan... I mean seriously. Very relieved when I said "never mind - Jack on the rocks!" The special is a 9oz Strip with soup/salad/potato/bread. First the soup. Minestrone. Couldn't decide if it was a jazzed up version of a canned vegetable soup or a homemade version that used food service vegetables (precisely cut and uniform) - but either way was a very tasty and satisfying. Next was the salad. Chopped Iceberg lettuce, beefsteak tomato, ranch dressing. Simple - Fresh. I'm not fussy when it comes to side salads - I just want fresh. The dressing tasted homemade. My mom used to make a simple dressing of mayo, lemon juice, and salt/pepper/herbs. This tasted like that. Very pleased. And then...there was the steak... So to be truthful, the first came out and the bartender said "this looks more than medium-rare...cut it" and it was. Wisked it away and back to the kitchen. 4 minutes later came back with... Perfection! Both of these where much more generous than the advertised 9oz and the second steak was not only cooked to perfection, but was beautifully marbled and had fantastic taste! I don't often have steak on the road outside of areas known for great steak - but this rivaled them all! I've always been a believer in you don't have to have fancy to have a great meal and this place reinforced that once again. I'll be back! read more

Many, many visits here over the past decades. Good Monday night special (steak), but you can never beat their steak salad with their great house dressing. Garlic bread is delicious and sodas are served in tankards so large I have to use two hands. read more

Was here for dinner Friday. Pleased to see dining room nearly full. Two steak specials that evening, NY Strip or Ribeye, salad, potato, bread and butter for TWO $45. Had the ribeye and was more than pleased, so much more flavor than Texas Road House, Ruby Tuesday, etc. Prepared exactly as I ordered it. Certainly no need for steak sauce. Potato was nice sized and piping hot. Roquefort dressing best in the area served on crisp, cold greens. Only wish the plate had been warmed to keep the steak hot longer. Will certainly return. Don't mind waiting for food to be prepared properly (And a good drink from the bar doesn't hurt either). Love to be able to support and recommend a LOCALLY owned and operated business. read more

I've been here before, and I was blown away. Tonight I'm completely disappointed in this place. Ordered a ribeye steak, baked potato and salad. Salad wasnt cold, more luke warm. My potato was excellent, but my steak was cooked as if I was at a Waffle House, horrible. Wasted a ribeye steak. My lady ordered fired shrimp, fries and a salad, her salad was good, fries crisp, but the shrimp were mediocre at best. Oh and mixed drinks aren't in ther wheelhouse here either. Not impressed. This wonderful eating establishment is still owned and operated by the same family as when it opened over 50 years ago. My family have been patrons for as long. The staff are courteous and quick to help you with your selections of a menu that has changed little but why change perfection. I highly recommend the Delmonico for it is the best you'll find hands down anywhere. Parking is limited so you may find yourself wondering about seating. They do have adequate seating and a pleasant atmosphere. Price is even reasonable for the quality you find. A definite must try for the steak lover. read more

I would usually give a second chance before a one star review but.... People raved over this place and I got a horrible meal. The tea was undrinkable and the salad was ok. I'm not a local so I guess that's why I don't have interest in going back. I would take a McDonald's salad over this place. I like supporting the local economy but I need a reason. Sanitation is important so clean up and make some updates and I might be back. read more

The waitress couldn't stop chastising the children in our party long enough to be of service to us. It was horrible. She lost our ticket then found it then put our order in. We waited 30 minutes for salad. She refused to bring my 3 year old another drink because he spilled his water. I cleaned it up. She kept saying I told you to be careful with the drinks. It was crazy. I thought we were on candid camera or something. She didn't get the food right. Didn't get drinks for the adults either unless asked multiple times. It was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Another waitress who we know from years of eating at this place took care of us. She got my son a water and made certain we had what we needed. I am always mindful that wait staff live on their tips however this lady didn't get one from me. The little girl who did help us got the tip even though we were not her responsibility. Just horrible. I doubt I'll ever go back. read more

Do Not Eat Here!!! I have never been to a restaurant this rude! To make a long story short. I set up a birthday party for my boyfriend. I call on a Tuesday saying I had 10 people coming on a Thursday night. But I will call back to confirm the actually headcount. I had showed up with 13 after telling someone I possibly could have 17 Thursday morning. Giving them plenty of notice. So the 13 of us ordered our food after waiting a long time for the waitresses to take it. I had to personal go find someone. After the food arrived no one hardly had refills and the ones that asked waited 25 minutes after their cup went to the kitchen. The waitress the whole time where arguing with each other. So after all eating was done we waited 30 mins for a check due to the fact once again we had to hunt down the waitresses. Most people paid with credit cards so when the receipts were brought back for a signature, 1 card was ran through for everyone's order except one. The one card that wasn't processed that many times was charged $7 more after giving the waitress the $7 in cash before the card was processed. Therefore, refunds had to be issued which one of the managers also refused to give all the issued refund slips to the girl who's card was processed 3 different times. I spoke with him about the night in a very respectful manner. His response: "Good don't eat here. I should have charged you for a party like all of restaurants do of $150. And everyone that didn't show up $25.00 a person. These are the best waitresses we have employed here. You didn't call in advance and let us get another waitress in here. So, I'm thinking as he keeps walking away from me that wow.. All I asked was for an apology and maybe to hear "how can we fix it?" read more
