Bummer that for a restaurant that has served great food for 10 years their staff is so poorly trained. Walked in at 5:20, one table is reserved, two 4-tops have chairs stacked on them and the rest are full. Girl (name starts with J/has nose ring) comes out from behind the bar to let us know they have a 10-15 minute wait and offers to "take my name and number." I said no need for a number, we will wait inside in the corner. I'm told that's not an option and that we must leave. Standing in the corner where three unused tables is not permitted? Inviting us to wait at the bar and sell us three drinks (an easy additional $30+) isn't offered? Seems like a pretty bad way to run a business. read more

Everything about this place is wonderful! It's got a casual welcoming vibe and it is unlike any place around the area. The food is top notch and is not thrown together on a plate from the freezer. Everything is made specifically for the individual and they excel in gluten-free options. Stumbled across here while driving through Clarksburg. Really delicious brunch spot! Surprised this place is in a little strip mall, given how delicious it was. Restaurant is cute and clean but a little dark, given the location. I ordered the Hangover Bowl, which had these thin chicken tenders, eggs potatoes and was covered in sauces! Flavor combinations were surprising but worked! My friend just opted for a side of bacon because she had a snack earlier - server was totally understanding. My wife and I came here for lunch following a Dr appointment. The food was so delicious. I had the Pub Burger and my wife had a bowl with steak, rice and Sweet Chili sauce. The server accidentally brought us potstickers so she left them. They were also very good. The truffle aioli fries we perfect. Well, we gave Cody's another try after being treated rudely last time we stopped. We ordered a couple of lunch bowls, one chicken, one salmon. The rice was extremely undercooked, salmon was seasoned so heavily and so difficult to eat. Chicken was cut in large pieces and vegetables were also cut in large pieces and undercooked. Just not a place we are going to visit anytime soon, when I inform the waitress of the extreme saltiness and quality, she said sorry but glad to bring the bill out. We've ordered these bowls in the past and have been extremely impressed, not sure why they are putting out such mediocre food. read more

We were in Bridgeport, from DC to attend a funeral. Some of us were looking for a place for dinner, the night before. We settled on Cody's. While they didn't have tables to accommodate us, they had seating at the bar. The bartender was great and personable. The service was promptl and we enjoyed everything we had. First, credit where credit is due. The server/bartender who answered the phone for my call in order was very personable. Made sure to tip her well even though I was getting takeout. The whole thing pretty much went downhill after that. The wedge salad was pretty dry with a lot of tomatoes but not much else. Bland bleu cheese. I let that go as I was looking forward to the steak tips sautéed in blue cheese. The kindest thing I can say is that the pita bread they served it with was soft and warm. The steak tips were very low quality beef. I tried chewing through the first couple of pieces and they were so gristly and chewy that I ended up just putting them back in the box half chewed (horrid description I know, but really they were pretty bad). We were out of town for a funeral and did not know the dining scene here. But everyone we asked recommended Cody's for brunch. It was a good, friendly efficient staff. The highlight is the Bloody Mary Bar where for $10 you can add all the treats you want to your drink! Bacon, sausages, cheese, olives, limes, etc., FUN!!! My breakfast was excellent! Sadly my wife and her best friend chose one of the daily specials, Pork Belly with Eggs. Pork belly is always chancy because, like bacon, it can be real meaty or mostly fat. This was all fat! The waitress politely sent the meals back to the kitchen (we were not charged), and my dining mates found a more suitable breakfast. Yes, a few hiccups here, but over all a good job. Oh Cody's, what's not to like about a gastro-pub-esque tucked into a confusing map of retail shops and parking spaces? Well, I'll tell you. We've been here 6 times and I've ordered the same Hangover Helper every time and somehow I've never had the same thing twice. I want to like this place so badly but there is no consistency whatsoever. My wife has ordered more variety from the menu and reports just as much inconsistency and a disappointing display. I suppose it is telling when the most recommended brunch place in town empties by 1130 on a Sunday. The portions are on the larger side so expect to have leftovers. With that, the prices are still about 15-20% overvalued. The service is worth mentioning as it has always been at worst fine but typically pretty good. The ambiance is what makes you want to like this place so badly. It would be wonderful if you could enjoy these mediocre meals outside but it doesn't appear there's space for that. read more

It is a relatively small, informal, space with a bar with TVs tuned to sports (fortunately the sound was not audible at our table) in addition to the tables. The only "asian" (fusion) restaurant within miles of this area (unless a Chinese buffet is what you're looking for). Conveniently located near a group of hotels, Cody's seemed promising in an area full of fast food restaurants. However, I was very disappointed. It may be because there are few Asians in the area, but the food does not resemble Asian cuisine at all. I ordered the fried rice (they ran out of udon for the day) with salmon. The fried rice was overly soggy. They do have a low sodium option (just ask for less salt) which was surprisingly nice and accommodating. I thought the salmon would be thrown in with the fried rice, but it ended up being a piece of salmon on the side. This did not resemble fried rice at all - the vegetables in the fried rice were also a bit strange and strayed from your typical fried rice vegetables. They were bad veggies, but it just confused me a bit. But again, this is a fusion restaurant so perhaps they were being creative. I also ordered the truffle fries, which were quite typical but delicious nonetheless. The ladies who worked here were nice enough to separate the truffle and other sauces from the fries in my to-go box so that the fries would not get soggy. I have not personally tried the curry, but my coworkers have told me that it is VERY watered down, and does not resemble curry. Again, come here at your own risk. I did not enjoy the food because I expected quality asian food. However, if you're in the mood for something else, I'm sure this restaurant will do it for you. Again, the fried are great! read more

I came here for the first time for Sunday brunch with my dad. We got there right when they open at 10am, they start filling up around 11am so I recommend getting there early. I ordered the hangover helper breakfast bowl and he ordered the white truffle breakfast bowl. Mine was amazing - fried chicken, eggs, bacon, fried potatoes, a chili sauce and special sauce. It was so good. You definitely will have enough for two meals. The white truffle bowl wasn't as good, the flavor was weaker and there wasn't much steak, but it was creamy. Wow, I don't usually write reviews, but this place was amazing. Cozy gastropub in a strip mall, I didn't have high expectations. I saw some of the menu online and was excited for lunch but I didn't realize it was Sunday and they were only serving brunch. At first I was disappointed as I wanted to have a traditional lunch but decided on the breakfast burger. Extremely delicious, well made, and filling! I will definitely be coming back on my next stay in the area, and probably if I have time on Monday before I leave! Service is friendly and fast considering almost every seat was filled when I arrived. I came here for a birthday dinner for a friend. There was about 5 or 6 of us. We ordered all appetizers for the table to share, so everyone could try everything. We ordered, Tuna, General Tso Califlower, dumplings, egg rolls, a Beef Dip with Pita Bread, and Wedge Salads. We had a nice assortment of different options for everyone to share. Honestly, I didn't really like any of the appetizers. I thought the Tuna was super dry. The General Tso Califlower had lots of flavor but it was overpowering to me. It was the dip was pretty good and went very well with the pita bread. The bread was warm and you had enough for the dish which was nice. The Wedge Salad was enormous, so thst was a huge Perk and everyone shared it. Lots of tomatoes and bacon which I loved. I ordered a cider sangria which was tart, but very very good. Honestly, the 4 stars was mainly for the fact that it was my friends birthday and they treated her so well. Where to begin. Simply put, absolutely amazing food and drinks. I knew we were in for a great experience when I seen the small but pleasant variety menu. I was right. I love Cody's, I just WISH they had a more accurate internet presence. I feel like the hours can sometimes be incorrect on the website and I'd love to see current and updated menus on their Facebook. But we just show up and there is always something delicious on the menu. I really enjoy how inventive and unique the menu is here. It's such a welcome change for the area. Drinks are always spot on and I love the Sunday morning Bloody Mary bar. Service is always fantastic. Very friendly, very prompt, and honestly we've had servers anticipate our needs before we even knew what was up (ex. What a nice variety at Cody's!! I'm absolutely coming back! The bartender/server Alivia is a nice young woman. The menu is unique and I'm so thankful to have that when traveling. I started off with the seaweed salad. The portion size was very filling and had a nice presentation. I then ordered the green curry with prawns. I asked for spicy because I do like a flavorful heat to a dish. It's tough to know how people define hot or spicy. I really enjoyed the dish but considered it mild for spices. The presentation was colorful and impressive. The curry was delicious, creamy but needed more heat. The prawns were huge, great texture and meaty. The serving is huge and the veggies were crunchy, fresh and tasty. I was very pleased and will definitely be returning when I'm back in town. read more
