We thoroughly enjoyed our visit at the speakeasy! The wait was pretty long on a weekday night, we waited about 45 minutes to an hour, and then we're seated with a party of four. They curate whatever drinks based on your preferences, including sweetness, fruitiness, etc. They ask you about your preferences, and then based on that they have a designated drink ready. It is not in a traditional menu where you order it which makes it all the more fun! The vibes were immaculate and very clean, the service was fairly nice even though they were busy. Drinks run $20 each and we're all amazing!

This bar reminded me of one of my favorites in Paris: no menu, just a series of questions to assist the bartender in crafting a drink unique to your tastes. A true speakeasy, this is a must visit while in Montreal. The vibes are elegant without feeling exclusive and the cocktails are perfectly done (cross your fingers you can try a house made fruit liqueur)

Hands down the best speakeasy bar we have been. The wait is always long since we went late night it was not too bad..everyone in line said its worth the wait. Indeed it was. A small place , nice ambiance, club vibe ..thw bartender ask what kind of drink you like 'and depending on your preference they make individual drink for everyone. they give welcome shots. the whole entire experience was nice.,

Unreal experience. Unparalleled service. Best drinks ever. No menu they customize it to you and your preferences.

This is such a great place. We were greeted at the entrance. The place is incredibly small (only fits 25 people) so bring large items isn't a good idea though they do have a coat check we utilized for our bags. What is great is there is no menu. You give a drink profile and a liquor to the mixologist and they create something based on their desires. You get a welcome drink which tasted amazing. If you aren't sure what you're looking for they will talk you through some ideas. The people there were super great and we ended up chatting with fellow customers who were all super friendly. If you're into speakeasy's this has to be on your list while here.

Speakeasy hidden inside men's tailoring store. The bartender gathers your flavor profile notes and creates a cocktail. It's such unique experience.

Crafted cocktails. Botanicals, cucumber, hint of Aperol and much more. sublime, both.

What a wonderful find during our stay in Montreal. Being fans of speakeasy-style establishments, Cloakroom Bar stood out as a spot we wanted to try. Located in a lovely building on Rue de la Montagne not far from our hotel, you ascent the stair into the entryway facing a mirrored wood lined wall. Soon a "door" opens in the wall and you're greeted; after a short walk along a dimly-lit corridor into a very small and cozy bar. It's perfectly dark and intimate, accommodating only 25 patrons. There is some bar seating and opposite that several small tables along the wall. Our server, Matthieu promptly greeted us and explained the really nice, unique concept - no menu, you're asked to describe the type of cocktail aspects and flavor profiles you enjoy and the bartender then crafts you something to fit that. It's really an interesting idea and it works wonderfully. Our drinks were both somewhat similar to an extent but each quite different. Gin-based, botanical and citrus forward. There were cucumber accents in mine with my wife's having just a hint of Aperol but in no way overpowering. Really just delicious. I'd say the cocktails a priced above average, about $20 to 25 per drink, but it is well worth it for uniquely crafted drinks tailored to your liking. The ambiance is relaxed, dark and intimate. It is the kind of spot you could see yourself frequenting if you lived here. I definitely would. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon, so we got in right away but evidently there can often be a long wait for a seat. On our visit there were about 8 or 10 patrons. It's small and feels very cozy. I will definitely want to stop in again.

Such a cool, intimate spot. There's no menu -- the bartenders craft drinks based on your flavor preferences, and they nail it. The space is small and hidden, which adds to the charm. It feels personal, creative, and unlike any typical bar experience. Definitely worth seeking out if you're into cocktails with a twist.

1000000/10 recommend this to anyone visiting or a local. This was by far the best experience I had at a speakeasy. I have visited many top 50 bars in different countries but this one, so far is my number one! What a cool no menu experience. The bartenders are literal gods! They make magic every cocktail I got was phenomenal and I mean can you blame them ? Look at them. They def know what they are doing. I would go back to Montreal just for this bar!

What a find! We had :30 to kill prior to dinner plans and found ourselves across the street from Cloakroom Bar. This was one of the best experiences, and best cocktails, I've ever had. (Context: I've had top-tier cocktails in London, NYC, New Orleans, and DC. This stood out as a uniquely brilliant creation.)

I stayed in Montreal with a friend for a long weekend, and we came here every night! The ambiance is amazing: very quiet, classy, and elevated. The bar is dimly lit, and the music was perfect, which further added to the vibes. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Really cool "no menu" concept. A little more on the expensive side, but thoroughly worth it. Every drink we had was amazing. Perfect place for someone who wants to try something new!

The first time, the music was extremely loud, and it seemed like they were short-staffed. The bar was completely packed, and there was only one bartender making drinks, so the wait was a bit longer than expected. We decided to give it another try, and I'm so glad we did. The second visit was amazing! The bartender working that night was incredible--she clearly knows her craft and made our drinks quickly without sacrificing quality. Every cocktail was delicious, and the overall experience was much more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend The Coldroom. My only suggestion would be that, with a space that busy, the bar could really benefit from having an additional bartender during peak hours. It would help keep wait times down and make an already great experience even better.

YES TO EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE…read more You walk in and are immediately immersed in a forest like ambiance. Hanging plants and funky music draw you into the main bar area as you're greeted by the server. Jess was energetic, attentive, & super knowledgeable. She made awesome recommendations and gave us some of the best service we have received in Montreal! We started with the Burrata & Prosciutto which came with some legitimately delicious fresh baked bread that was similar to naan. A lighter portion but enough for 5 of us to pick at. We followed with some pizza - the Mush Pit 2.0, Salsiccia di Vitello, & the Bianca Royale (which Jess recommended). Each pizza had 6 slices and the crust was on the thinner side. Each one would get 10 stars across the board, seriously. Two of us shared the Caribbean Queen which was a rum based cocktail that came with a little ~ razzle dazzle ~! Seriously one of the best meals & some of the best service we experienced during our week long trip. Food and drinks came quickly and there was plenty of seating. THANK U JESS!!

Being the Montreal Gran Prix weekend, the city exploded with crowds making it difficult to find a place with a patio and seating outside. Determined to succeed we found this place with the last table for two on the patio available. We were thrilled, as this place not only delivered in that department it was highly rated on Yelp. The place was bustling with patrons inside and out, but the service was outstanding with quick delivery of much needed beer with our food shortly there after. Bar Dominion is not just a bar with a long list of cocktails and a few beers, they have a nice selection of seafood and small plates. The menu here is not your typical "bar" food selection, but a selection one would find on a bistro menu. I ordered the Petite Bourgogne beer, which is a local red beer that was crisp and fresh. The Lobster Roll was the item that stood out for me and I'm glad I ordered it as it was super fresh and delicious. The buttery roll was perfect with the well seasoned lobster garnished with chives. The portions are also just right. The inside atmosphere was off the rails with an upscale atmosphere and the patio was quite different with atmosphere more suitable for conversation with ease. I really enjoyed this place and glad we accidentally discovered it. The only thing I regret is not trying one of their cocktails, as I learned after that the cocktails were created by a renowned mixologist, Andrew Whibely from Cloakroom Bar fame. This explains the very short offerings of beers.
