Found this underground cocktail bar while walking around Old Montreal, and both my partner and my friend who lives in Montreal were impressed with the drinks, the environment, and service. Definitely enjoyed our time here. Our server was really nice and made nice recommendations. Having the option to order a snack like pickles and olives (like we did) was perfect since we had a later dinner.

Super cute underground bar! Didn't get a chance to take a picture of their menu but it's very detailed and tells you exactly what you're ordering as well as how strong your drink will be. Definitely a great lowkey bar to check out! The staff was super kind and friendly as well.

We were recommended @barbisoubisou by American tourists (shame ) so we didn't know what to expect at all. We were pleasantly surprised at the overall europeen feel of the decor and menu. We had really excellent drinks, with a great balance of ingredients classified by strength (which we thought was a great idea) and an equally delicious cheese board with an impressive selection of cheese, jam and mustard, not to mention the wonderful bread from @lacaveamanger.ca. With a very helpful and knowledgeable service, we will be going back for more

Best cocktail bar I've been to in a long time. Bar Bisou Bisou specializes in some underutilized cocktail ingredients like sherries, made and served by knowledgeable bar tenders who are happy to walk newcomers through the menu. They can mix you up familiar classics as well. Great music!

This bar was so cute, so clean and the staff was so kind. The cocktails were very strong as well. I love how they provide metal straws because the paper straws make the drink in my opinion not good. The design and character of the place is so hip and artistic. I got the mon sherry and sunfly and enjoyed both. I loved my bartender - he was so sweet and tried to speak to us even though his english was limited.

Perfect ambiance with delicious and unique drinks! The service was amazing, the place was quiet enough to talk, especially when leaving the bustling streets. Google maps takes you a bit to the wrong place, so check for the sign outside the door and go down to the basement. Lovely experience!

    Bar is very pleasing!

The first time, the music was extremely loud, and it seemed like they were short-staffed. The bar was completely packed, and there was only one bartender making drinks, so the wait was a bit longer than expected. We decided to give it another try, and I'm so glad we did. The second visit was amazing! The bartender working that night was incredible--she clearly knows her craft and made our drinks quickly without sacrificing quality. Every cocktail was delicious, and the overall experience was much more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend The Coldroom. My only suggestion would be that, with a space that busy, the bar could really benefit from having an additional bartender during peak hours. It would help keep wait times down and make an already great experience even better.

We were seated without any issue, ordered a pitcher, and our kids had water. About 20 minutes later, we were suddenly told there was a $10 minimum per person, including the children, and were told they could order a soft drink or juice. Aside from the fact that a juice or soft drink obviously doesn't cost $10, what made the situation particularly frustrating was that a nearby table of three adults had only ordered a pitcher of sangria and, as far as we could see, they were not approached about the same $10-per-person minimum. The message felt pretty clear: we were the only table with children, and they didn't want us there. If children aren't welcome, that's completely fine--but then simply tell families at the door rather than seating them, taking their order, and then introducing a "minimum per person" 20 minutes later that doesn't appear to be applied consistently to other customers. We understood the message, quickly finished our drinks, and left. Needless to say, we won't be returning.

We got seated in the lounge area and I ordered a dirty martini to start. Our server, Christine was so nice and I enjoyed chatting with her. I also ordered a negroni which was very good. They had a DJ arrive at one point who was playing a bit of like easy house music - you know the kind that sounds like one long song and has no words? It added to the vibes and I enjoyed it. Would definitely return and think it's a solid spot to go out for cocktails that is a little more festive than a chill bar.

And it's unclaimed here on Yelp. We found it by searching for cocktail bars on Google. Place was busy both nights we were there though! This became our after dinner drink spot for the weekend. Bartenders were very friendly and helpful, and actually looked like they enjoyed their jobs as they helped contribute to the fun relaxed atmosphere. Drinks were creative and delicious. Music they play is the typical chill/lounge/downtempo/electronic where after a while it all sounds the same, but it's perfect for the ambiance and it's not too loud. Drink menu is only available through the web site, which is annoying (to me), but easy enough to overlook.

Wonderful curation of nerdy, interesting and TASTY wines. Special shoutout to our phenomenal dreadlocked server who had a way of explaining the food/menu/drinks and checking in that didn't feel overbearing, too wordy, or awkward... just kind and attentive. The service was friendly but they seemed short staffed that night. We were trying to refill our water glasses but it took a while since I couldn't find any waiter or waitress around. Now let's start with the food: Focaccia: 5/5 bread was warm, toasty and tasty but the dip was the highlight Leeks with smoked mackerel, mustard, tobikko: (2.5/5) too creamy with a hint of mackerel and leeks Calamari chou-fleur, asian pear, chili beurre blanc: (2/5) very soupy and too much cream and not flavorful Black cod miso sauce, daikon, kale: (2.5/5) cod was tender but my bite had too much miso on it. It was extremely salty and not well balanced Beef tartare with mushrooms, Asiago: (1/5) mushy texture and way too much Asiago cheese. Flank steak with burnt chili salsa, szechuan pepper sauce, pickled peppers: (2/5) steak was not tender at all and the sauce was overwhelming Fried sea bass with bok choy, soya, nuoc mam (3/5): presentation was great but too many bones with too little meat. Flavor was good and I enjoyed the warm crispy fish with the Vietnamese style salad Overall, my special dinner was disappointing. I felt like the main ingredient never shined and their cheese or cream or sauce were just too overpowering. I really wanted to like Cadet but it fell short of my expectations.
