The second visit was amazing! The bartender working that night was incredible--she clearly knows her craft and made our drinks quickly without sacrificing quality. Every cocktail was delicious, and the overall experience was much more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend The Coldroom. My only suggestion would be that, with a space that busy, the bar could really benefit from having an additional bartender during peak hours. We were seated without any issue, ordered a pitcher, and our kids had water. About 20 minutes later, we were suddenly told there was a $10 minimum per person, including the children, and were told they could order a soft drink or juice. Aside from the fact that a juice or soft drink obviously doesn't cost $10, what made the situation particularly frustrating was that a nearby table of three adults had only ordered a pitcher of sangria and, as far as we could see, they were not approached about the same $10-per-person minimum. The message felt pretty clear: we were the only table with children, and they didn't want us there. If children aren't welcome, that's completely fine--but then simply tell families at the door rather than seating them, taking their order, and then introducing a "minimum per person" 20 minutes later that doesn't appear to be applied consistently to other customers. We understood the message, quickly finished our drinks, and left. Needless to say, we won't be returning.
