The 1-star reviews of this place are all on point from the rude AF owner to the cockroaches to the price gouging and weak hookah coals. This review is primarily going to address an incident the owner had with my buddy who was simply trying to find parking. I guess the douche bag's name is Conrad. He was parked in front of the bar in a loading loading zone and begins to drive off as we come up behind him with cars following behind my friend car. A parking opens up immediately nearest to our car and Conrad decides he wants to park there after driving a few spaces well past the spot. He backs up and expects us to do the same even though we signaled and are in position to drive into the space. Conrad frustrated we don't budge expecting us back into the cars behind us, he puts his truck in reverse and backs into my friends car smashing the front bumper and comes out yelling and cursing us saying "why didn't you move out of the way?" Turned out to a shouting contest with him trying to act like the victim. Needless to say I called SDPD to take a report to submit to insurance to let them deal with who was at blame. My friend's insurance and the racist POS owner's insurance determined the incident was all his fault and my friend got a brand new bumper fully painted all on cockroach man's dime in some form or another. Bottom line is if you want to throw money at a roach infested hookah bar with an owner who overcharges his customers in order pay for his liabilities which he deserves every bit of misfortune, this place is for you. read more

The owner hires his employees under the table then doesn't pay them. He keeps their tips and says it's going to a good cause. He a foreigner and has a low regard for women. My friends gf worked there and the owner gave her number out to customers and to his friends that thought she was hot. In turn, she received the most degrading and vile texts any young female should endure. Her bf called him and stated to never again give her number to anyone that isn't a fellow employee, his response was he should ask nicely for him to not give her number out and that he's her employer and his property and can do as he wishes. The owner Conrad retaliated on her by suspending her and refused to pay her money that was owed. I'm the legal field this is known as "retaliation" and is protected by law. This guy is a real piece of work and treats his employees like garbage and treats women even worse! This guy should not be in business and is breaking tax fraud laws for paying cash wages. read more

Lets give a round of applause for the pretentious views of people who seem to be hookah connoisseurs, congratulations. *Insert Applause* Now lets cut to the chase. I came to Cloud 9 because I like Hookah. I've been to several hookah bars in San Diego and this is actually one of the better ones. Instabul on El Cajon Blvd is the only other hookah bar in the North Park area and this hookah bar not only has a better location but it has more potential to become a great late night spot. When the clubs are closing and you want to still hang, this will be a great place to go. Also, this is a great pre-game spot before you go to drink at the local bars. How can a place in this neighborhood be considered sketch? That shows the prejudice of the previous reviewers taste in music. The crowd that was here was definitely enjoying the energy as they had just left the bars and wanted to continue with good hookah and fun energy. Definitely a great lounge to be at. An African guy named Kowward charged us $35 dollars for a hookah. The bowl was very small. The hookah flavor wasn't what we asked for. The African guy yells and screams a lot when he talks, in a very disrespectful manner and in a very disrespectful tone. He has a third world customer service. The Hookah is the most disgusting hookah I've ever had. This place should be reported to the BBB and shut down. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid at all cost. The African guy that runs it goes by Kowward. People are shooting dice and gambling outside the door. He sells Malt liquor in red cups and told us it was IPA. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Even in Downtown, hookah at the most is $20-25. This guy sells his little small cheap disgusting bowls of hookah for a whopping $35. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. The place and the service is EAK, YUCK and VOMIT. WORST hookah lounge I have ever been to. The owner Conrad is a complete a-hole. He yells and screams at customers, and wants to fight everyone. He also charges you based on how you look. The hookah is rip-off. However, if you're black expect to get hookah cheaper than a white guy or mexican guy, because YES CONRAD IS A RACIST. There are no prices listed anywhere and he just makes them up as he rings you up. Also the hookah is dirty and they use the same dirty hose for all of them, they don't come around to replace charcoals, and I also think he didn't pack us a new bowl. It already tasted burnt and when I questioned it, he yelled at me and tired to kick me out. This place should honestly be SHUT DOWN and reported to the BBB . DO NOT GO HERE! read more

Went in there with my friends on friday night... we were sitting across from these girls who's hookah fell due to table issues we saw it all. The manager was more concerned about his floor than the girls... and started to make a scene and made them leave ... we thought it would be done but then he went outside and started screaming at one of the girls.. who didn't do anything... Well done job for the new hookah lounge we now have in north park called lounge 9 hookah lounge. I love the name. Last Saturday, me , boyfriend and friend went there after a late night party, we had great fun as they have music, great customer services, clean bath room and good environment for positive people to relax. I will be going there this weekend to smoke hookah. read more

Stopped by here last week on recommendation from some friends. Loved it! The staff was really helpful and friendly. Felt like we could sit there as long as we wanted...oh wait, we did! :) Make sure you say hi to Conrad when you're there. Happy to find this gem so close to home. Will definitely be back. read more

Great prices, great service, great flavors, great atmosphere. Gets very busy on Friday and Saturday night as they're OPEN UNTIL 4AM!
