Hookah and pizza :0)
Samantha D.

Came here on a Saturday night and there was plenty of seating available. I really appreciated that the hookah was smooth AF. I went to another place in Hillcrest not too long ago and all their hookahs were harsh and made us cough, but not here at Social! Originally we ordered their social mix which was a combination of 8 different flavors but it ended up being too much going on for us, so we switched to a honey dew melon one which was perfect. I really appreciated that the workers came around to switch the coals without being prompted to, and it was super cute and clever they had a handheld vacuum for the ashes. The pizza we ordered was good too, it had lots of cheese and they had an assortment of sauces to choose from. Total bill for 2 bowls and a pizza was $80. 10/10 would definitely come back here!

Really cool place! We went to a smaller place first that said they don't play any Arabic music so we came here and enjoyed a little rap, R&B, and some Arabic music with some green tea and a hookah. Really beautiful inside with high ceilings, so it doesn't feel stuffy. Really cool vibes. Will def be back.

Great atmosphere and hookah flavors. The shisha is great and fresh. Great staff and food. Tried multiple cocktails and they were amazing. Highly recommend this place for a great hangout

The spot is super chill and gives welcoming vibes, the hookah's are priced very fair and the customer service is top notch.

I've been to a few hookah lounges as of recent and this one by far has been my favorite thus far in SD. Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon pretty empty which was good for us. The interior is spacious, booths along both sides of the walls. Tables and chairs in the center. Big screen televisions all around and a nice center section with 3 big screens. Really liked the interior well kept and clean. Bathroom was much nicer than I've seen at other places. Small bar area to order drinks and they also sell food. We didn't check out the menu will need to another time. Just came for hookah. We ordered our favorite mix and ordered a small hookah with coconut coals no extra charge spent about $25 plus a bottle of water. I did catch a sign that 3 hour limit on each hookah head and then you have to refill. We don't usually stay that long but heads up. Really enjoyed this spot we got comfortable on the booth and smoked our hookah. Super chill great atmosphere. Parking sucks! But if you find a spot it's worth coming in. Will be back!

Social hookah is one of my go to spots to chillax. It's right next to USD (University of San Diego), so you'll ocassionally see students studying. There are 6 TVs that usually are playing the current sports. Lots of space and couches, dont think you'll ever have a problem finding a seat. Conveniently the couches all have outlets to plug your electronics in . They have both square coals and quick lite circle ones, so you can choose which you want. Attached is photos of the menu to see what other additions you can make. There is food, drinks... to include alcohol. The liquor license is the one that they have to water it down... just fyi. Very convenient location, in a strip mall with lots of food places and they dont care if you bring in outside food. It's the owner and his son that are usually running the place, both of which are chill dudes. Parking basically sucks really bad, I would strongly suggest parking on an adjacent street, most of the spots are labeled with 30 minute parking but its VERY HARD to see, I've seen cars get towed out of there alot. $20 for a basic hookah, I go with watermelon mint. Happy hookahing @sirjake2.0

All they play is 42 Dugg, Kodak or meek mill. I hope they play some Latin music like peso pluma or fuerza regida. Price is ok for 30$

Nice mellow lounge, variety of hookahs.. The wait is a bit long but I understand because they're typically busy on the weekend. Will return.

We were walk-ins, so seated at the bar but that was more than fine since we got to see all the actions as the dishes were being prepared. They recommend 4-6 dishes for 2 people. Wow. Just wow. My…read morebest friend had been raving about Wolf in the Woods for years, so she brought me here for my birthday. As two serious foodies, our expectations were high. This place exceeded every one of them. Nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood, Wolf in the Woods feels like a hidden European café you'd stumble upon while traveling. Sitting outside beneath the umbrellas with a cocktail, watching the neighborhood stroll by. It felt like a little corner cafe in Paris. Then the food arrived. Every plate was beautifully presented, but the real magic was in the creativity of the flavors. The combinations were unexpected, yet every one worked. Every dish had me wondering how on earth someone came up with these pairings in the first place. The Sweet Corn & Piñon Soup deserves a standing ovation. We literally stopped talking after the first spoonful. Rich, savory, slightly sweet, comforting and completely unexpected all at the same time. Both of our eyes rolled back in our heads. The Beef Tataki completely surprised me. The outside had a delicate seared crust, the inside cut like butter, and the citrus pairing made me rethink what flavors belong together. And the mushroom and polenta dish? The mushrooms had an incredible texture--like savory little pieces of mushroom jerky. I would have happily bought a pound of them just to snack on. Every dish felt like it was taking me somewhere I'd never been before, yet somehow felt familiar at the same time. Wolf in the Woods creates an unforgettable experience.

Other San Diego wine clubs focus on things like Spanish and French wines, fancy bubbly wines, Santa Barbara or Santa Rita.... This is truly San Diego. Oddish also has some of the craziest wines I've ever seen. For example, they had one called the hybrid that mixed wine, Mead, and cider. If you're looking to have fun and try a wine that is not full of itself but instead full of character, this is what you want. Also, I have a lot of friends who say that drinking wine makes them feel sick and that they never feel sick when they drink Oddish wines. Must be the way that they produce it and just how natural it really is. It's inside of a space called The Garten which is also such a must-see spot. They have Mead, beer, and a pizza truck? Pizza, outdoor oven type thing haha. And a stage that sometimes has live music. You order your drinks, sit on picnic tables with others, and enjoy the beautiful San Diego Sunshine

This time around, it was just the 3 of us, to chat over some wine and apps. Had their April featured Pinot, which was amazing (had 2 glasses). It's good to keep in mind that they only sell their flatbreads on certain days and unfortunately, they didn't serve it when we went. So, instead we had the crostinis, which is perfect if you want a little bit of everything, but not sure what to get. My friend got the chicken Caesar wrap, and it was a lot bigger than expected. As far as the ambience, there's seating all around the bar that's located in the middle. So it's convenient to just walk up to the bar to place your order. Servers and bartenders were friendly and quick. Overall this is a great laid-back place for small or large groups.

First, I still really enjoy the Carruth Wine Garden. It is nice to have an outdoor space to drink wine right in the center of the city. In general there plenty of parking ,and it is dog friendly. As far as the wine, it is very good. I like some more than others. More recently, I have enjoyed the Unicorn Red Blend ( a longtime favorite) and the Syrah. I love that it is dog friendly, inside and out. My dog loves going there and she makes friends each time. A change that they made recently is that the main garden area is now child-free, which was a positive change in my options, as it had gotten a bit chaotic in the past with children not being very well supervised. The still have a family-friendly outdoor space. In the past, there was always live music when I came. I was there most recently on a Saturday evening and was disappointed that there was no music. Also, the prices have gone up ($18 per glass). Unfortunately, I found the pours to be somewhat inadequate, though it depended which staff member was pouring the wine. They do not allow for outside food, and only make certain dishes certain days of the week, which unfortunately doesn't allow for many options if you are hungry. Water is readily available inside and outside. All in all, it is a lovely place with good wine to come with friends and your 4-legged friends. It has gotten a bit pricey, and I do wish we could bring out own snacks, but I still enjoy going and am sure that I will be back.
