Just poor attitude and zero professionalism. If your business has rules, communicate them before seating people, not after they've already spent time and money there. Kicking customers out like that is embarrassing and shows exactly how little they value their guests. Plenty of better places in San Diego that actually know how to treat people. Had an awesome time here! We came on a sunday and were surprised to see this hookah bar open till 3am. I have to say this is one of the best hookah's I've had in San Diego. We got the melon and mint flavor and it tasted amazing. I recommend adding mint to any flavor you get. As for the ambiance, the service was great and the music was popping. I was in town for a conference and stopped by to support a local business in downtown. They're next to a large parking structure which is nice so you don't have to walk far. When I got there on a Wednesday night, they weren't crowded but by the time I left a few hours later, they were packed. It's a sit where you want to setup, indoor and outdoor space. The indoor is cozy with a lot of seating. They have a full bar, kitchen and hookah. I didn't get anything but hot tea and hookah and enjoyed the experience. The wait staff and coal bearer weren't pushy and left the customers to enjoy their hookahs. I would come back the next time I'm in town. Security in the bathroom is very rude. As women, it's girl code to go to the restroom with a friend. While in the restroom security banged on the door serval times. A large group of my friends visited the lounge last night (December 28) to celebrate my friend's birthday. We were a large group, so of course we were expected to order. The waitress came to our table to take our order and we et her know that we weren't quite ready. After 5-10 minutes, the manager came over and let us know that "you are a large group and you can't sit at the table taking up room if you are not going to order". We left. You ruined a perfectly beautiful birthday celebration for my friend. We are all professional individuals so it wasnt a problem to buy drinks as you might have thought. Excellent hookah place! Must go to! Was a few blocks down the hotel we stayed at. At first we decided to go to Mist Lounge but thank god we did not. We waited outside their line and no one came to assist or seat us. Also it can be super ghetto in there. Mina Lounge was had a very good vibe and music. The two men at the stand were so friendly and sat us real quick giving us the option of sitting outdoor or indoor. Be mindful sitting inside can be hot unless you dont mind. Even on a Thursday, it was getting packed. Our server Marina was awesome and so attentive. Big thanks for her service and friendliness. Hookah here is cheap too compared to other places. My girls & I attended Saturday February 01,2025 & in all the years we've ever been to Mina Lounge this by far was the absolute worst experience. We are told when we arrive (a little after 10:00pm) that we have to spend $125.00 min to be seated. It's a nice group & we typically spend money any other time we visit so we are like that's fine. Though caught off guard by it, we intended on enjoying our girls night. As the night progressed we have ordered hookah, drinks, & water. Another friend arrives so we order another drink and 2 more waters. Not too long after receiving our waters the man with the Man Ponytail comes and ask us if we will be leaving soon, because it's going to get busy and he needs the table & that if we stay we will need to open another tab. Now we are confused because we just received our waters prior to him coming to our table, and we are told we have $34.00 more to spend to reach our $125.00 minimum. What we are told by the waitress is that he told her we aren't spending money so basically he is trying to get us up out there. Again confusion because we were in fact spending money, but either way, we've been watching and he isn't telling any others this, on top of that, there are SEVERAL FREE SECTIONS, TABLES & BOOTHS, mind you the entire outside area is free of people. We are trying to figure out the issue because it can't be that we aren't spending money because that in fact is not true and I would absolutely hate to call a person a racist because I've never had that type of run in with him before, so what's the issue? Whatever it was, I will say it was truly upsetting, not only have we given quite a bit of business to Mina Lounge, but we all refer it to those passing through San Diego, friends and family; heck we've told Wale the rapper to come through & now I'm glad he didn't because we would have probably been embarrassed. You don't know who people know or who they are connected to in this community let alone in the world. We do send quite a bit of business to this establishment, & we send it quietly but we send business, so when you're not getting our money guess what you're in fact still getting money because of us. It's definitely a huge slap in the face to be mistreated and not know why... by the way our total bill when closed out was $149.00 & our other Black Friends who we referred & attended that night were at different tables & spent more. Work on better customer service treatment & business practices because he for sure didn't treat those that looked & spoke like him that way. I'm always observant when I'm come here ALWAYS. Then had the audacity to give us trash hookah! To my People Of Color be aware of these establishments and how they conduct business. This is now the second time we've had an incident in this establishment. Maybe it's time for us to find somewhere else to go because our business doesn't seem or feel wanted here. I went here on a Saturday night with 2 of my girl friends. One of my friends is Muslim and wears a hijab. At first they tried to seat us outside but when we asked to go inside they said we had to have a $125 minimum. Turns out they told 2 guys that came and sat next to us, they had to have a $75 minimum. First red flag. Second red flag - as soon as we got the check and we're just sitting and enjoying the hookah, they said - oh sorry you have 10 mins left. 5 minutes later (I counted) the same manager comes back and says you have to go. So basically because we're not spending any more money - they rushed us out. We ended up spending close to $200 but I can't even tell you on what because they just gave us a bill - not an itemized receipt. I'd say proceed with caution, they value money over customer service. My Muslim friend has been here a few times and said the same thing happened to her each time- so are they discriminatory because she's coming in with a hijab? I don't know. I just will not be going again and supporting a business that has shitty customer service like this. read more

Came down to San Diego for a quick getaway and came here to enjoy some hookah. Was recommended to come here by a local restaurant. Been to many hookah lounges and this was clean and the owner had patron seating organized which helped with flow and ambiance. Ordered vanilla, mint and rose for myself and wife had gummy bear and vanilla. The vanilla, mint, and rose was smooth and wife liked it better than hers. Rico was on it refreshing the coals and made the experience fun. We also ordered a few rounds of drinks. I ordered a watermelon mojito and cucumber gimlet, both of which were refreshing and not to strong. Beer order was on tap and cold. I don't trust this place anymore. First, we only ordered one hookah and 6 adios motherfuckers and our bill already went up so high! I was charged $152 while my friend was charged $175. Second visit: we were charged over $200 for one hookah and 5 vodka sodas, 2 Red Bull's and 2 beers! The third time I visited was I was with a regular customer at mina, we only ordered one hookah, one vodka soda and an bottled water and we only get billed $52!!!!
