Well, I must have loved it since I went twice!! First day tried the BLT as well as a chocolate croissant which is to seriously die for, it is a must. Kiaya (lord I hope that is right) was my server and she was excellent. I had a Pellegrino Blood Orange soda along with my lunch and loved the salad dressing as well! The sandwich was with 1/2 salad and 1/2 potatoes, yum yum. The second time, I had Connor (he will remember Sheldon) who served me. He was awesome. I tried out a blueberry mimosa, an iced mocha and a water (I had been walking a lot and was tired and thirsty, don't judge). Then I just wanted that dang BLT again! I also ordered another almond chocolate croissant (I know, I know, should have tried something else). Well I did get a cookie too! My lunch was taking a little long, so they also brought out a couple of pastry items to try as well, so yum yum! The Chocolate Macaroon was also so wonderful and I cannot say enough about this quaint spot. It did fill up during lunch on the Thursday, so get there early or late! Don't let the word bakery in the name of this place fool you. It's actually a bustling cafe with a bakery in the storefront. And boy, the pastries are so tempting. I actually made a special trip back to buy the almond coated almond croissant. I've never seen so many almonds atop of a croissant before. It was delicious, with a large amount of filling. I came by myself for lunch during a break from my conference sessions. I settled on the margarita flatbread, which was like a thin crust pizza. I really enjoyed it. Not quite the experience I expected. The Parisian-styled cafe was romantic and bustling. In the case, the delicate and buttery crust on the pastries caught our eyes. Ordering 1 blueberry danish, 2 french dip specials, and 1 latte, we spent nearly $50, a price we were comfortable paying if the food and experience were spectacular. However, this was not the case. The blueberry danish was quite good, though I have had better 7/10. On the other hand, the french dips threw us off completely. The salad had no dressing, the beef was extremely dry and springy, and the au jus was devoid of flavor. The best part was the baguette, but that was expected since the establishment is a bakery. My partner ordered a side of potatoes, rather than a salad, and they were extremely soggy, bland, and weirdly spreadable. Learn from our mistakes and do not order anything savory from here. We opted for the sit down to get the full experience of Eva's, and we went with a simple order of potatoes, French onion soup and the cookie butter latte. Potatoes were herbal and cooked to a soft texture. We were kind of expecting a hash, but I think this is style of this cuisine. Nonetheless, they were still yummy. French onion soup was delicious pairing with slices of bread. The controversy of bay leaf was found in our soup, and I am on the side that you can taste bay leaf (which I love). Cookie butter latte was amazing. It was not too sweet and overpowering but had its punch in flavor that makes it memorable. Would recommend ordering this drink. I wish we saw the seasonal menu, because the citrus latte sounded pretty good. For the items we ordered, the total price was about $20. Fair for a great spot in a busy area. read more

Came on a Monday at around 9:30 and did the bistro style dining (order at the counter and find a table, no table service aside from them bringing you your food). I think that's the move actually. There was a line of people ordering but it moved. Only one person handling the cash register while also grabbing the pastries for the people, so that slowed down the line. I got their almond croissant from their pastries and the quiche Lorraine and their beets avocado toast. The quiche Lorraine was not bad, it came with a choice of potatoes, salad, or both. It was cheesy but not overpowering. The beets avocado toast was definitely different. The beets gave it a more refreshing taste. Their bread was really good. The almond croissant was my least favorite... they warm up the pastries before giving it to you. It was flaky, but when biting into it, it was soft in the middle, but the edges were a bit hard, as if the edges hadn't baked completely. I went to the register to ask them if it's supposed to be like that, and the guy said yes, and that he's "had a lot of almond croissants" so he "would know". I found that a bit snarky and not sure if that was his intention. But he did give me the option of getting a refund or replacing the pastry for another one. I decided to try their chocolate almond croissant which was a bit better. I was excited to try their breads/pastries given they're supposed to be a boulangerie. The pastries were a let-down, but their bread seemed to be good. The outside of the shop has a nice blue wall painting, definitely standing out from the rest. The inside can be a bit hectic, especially by the pastries bar. Not sure if I'd visit again, but maybe just for a loaf of bread. read more

Eva's was recommended to us by the hotel staff when we were looking for a delicious and unique breakfast spot. It's located on a busy downtown street along the trolley line, in a vintage building painted in blue and gold. There are café tables out front under shady trees, and inside you'll find an amazing counter of pastries and sandwiches, with additional seating in the back. Hint: Many people stand in line, order, and take their food and drinks to-go. If you want to sit in the restaurant, you can skip the line and wait by the dining area. A staff member will ask if you'd like a table and will seat you. We came on two consecutive mornings (because the first visit was so good). Over our two visits, we tried the Almond Chocolate Croissant, Vegetable Quiche, and Roasted Beef & Avocado Toast. Everything was excellent -- fresh, flavorful, generous portions, and beautifully presented. You can tell they make everything with care. They also offer all the usual coffee drinks, and my London Fog Tea Latte was very good. Service on both visits was professional, efficient, and patient. Even though it was always busy, we never felt rushed. The dining room was full but quiet enough to have a conversation. I would have loved to take more pastries to-go, but we were too full. It was my first time visiting and I was really excited since I've heard about this coffee shop for a while. Unfortunately, I left pretty disappointed due to the customer service. I ordered two cappuccinos and asked if they could be served in mugs so I could take a cute photo. The barista seemed annoyed by the request, and the drinks were made carelessly, one was cold and had spilled over the side. When I asked which one was the oat milk cappuccino, the response felt unfriendly and dismissive.
