I've been to Normal so many times, so I can confidently say it's EXCELLENT. They have 5-6 monthly flavors, so you'll want to go there once a month I promise you. You can get one of their composed cones (or cups) or create your own with all the different toppings they offer (which are mostly made in house). My favorite flavors I had were olive oil, matcha, hojicha, mango, ube, rice pudding, etc etc. They make amazing vegan flavors!!! Super creamy, I'm obsessed, definitely a must if you're in SLC.

The ambiance was pretty cool, service was quick and friendly, and the ice cream was really yummy! Fun but limited flavor options as opposed to a hand dipped parlor, but I think everyone can find something they like! Gluten free and vegan options available too!

What I remember about Normal ice cream from years ago was a cutesy food truck and soft-serve twist cones. They were delicious, but now the menu has expanded into more exotic flavors. People like variety and the more unusual combinations, mix-ins and toppings are more photogenic than a boring ole' twist cone. I get it. This is a charming little place-geared toward smaller group sizes and high frequency rotation. Read: eat your treat and move on. Don't hang here all day. There are a few areas of visual interest including a wall of ice cream cones and some neon lights.

Another excellent ice cream place in Utah, but this time it's soft-serve! I love that the menu regularly changes and has vegan options, and there are also prepared options ready to go (I got a "choco razz crunch" bar for another day). The cone holder was a nice touch, and we both loved the vegan dark chocolate dip- they'll even dip a cup! The green apple sorbet + chocolate dip combo actually worked well. The half-size was a good amount. The staff were very kind and explained the whole process. For those who like toppings, there are a bunch to choose from. There's a small amount of outdoor and indoor seating, and ample street parking.

This place is great to satisfy your sweet tooth. Their soft serve and options are great. They are very patient with what you decide want where condiments you want. The overall ice cream is very creamy and good. There's seating inside but no seating outside.

I have been wanting to try Normal Club for years and was in the area on a date with my husband so we stopped by. Finding a parking spot wasn't a problem. The workers were kind and patient as it was our first time. I want to try the cones next time but we got our ice cream in a cup this time. My husband got the Char-cute-rie, fig & goat cheese twist + blueberry jam + parmesan crispies + maldon sea salt. I tried a couple bites and loved it! So flavorful and unique. I embraced my love for chocolate and got a build your own. Chocolate milk ice cream + dipped in dark chocolate + brown butter ganache brownie bits. It was pure heaven! The flavor wasn't just a boring chocolate flavor but good quality and so tasty! I am already craving it again! They were out of vanilla bean ice cream so I am looking forward to trying that next time.

Normal ice cream is anything but normal! Their unique flavor options are pretty genius, with choices like lucky charms milk and sticky rice. You can also choose from a variety of toppings that live up to the abnormal nature of Normal. I ordered a sticky rice cone with a salt topping, and my friend got the mango sticky rice cup. Mine was natural tasting and not overly sweet, but I was jealous of my friend's order! It was pretty packed inside, but service was still very quick and we managed to snag a spot to sit. You can take to-go ice cream from their freezer for even more varieties of fun flavors!

Really good!! I love that they have interesting flavors that you can't typically find everywhere else. The inside is also very cute and vibey. The staff was nice as well. Definitely a spot I'll plan to take my visiting guests in the future!

Funky little not so normal ice cream shop we discovered while out and about in Salt Lake City . Cool toppings and dips on soft serve in a cup or cone . Loved all the cool different toppings and dips . My friend had a peach on a cone which tasted so much like fresh peaches not artificial at all. I had the chocolate and vanilla milk twist in a cup with some coconut jam and shortbread crumbs . This was absolutely divine ! Creamy ice cream with this insane thick coconutty jammy sauce with yummy buttery shortbread. Combined it was such a cool flavor. All my faves ! Cool inside seating and a table outside . We enjoyed ours walking through the neighborhood streets ! Total unique find !

I've been eyeing Normal Ice Cream for a while now and we decided to try their 900 S location after dinner one night. The place was packed with people waiting for ice cream and eating their ice cream. The line to order wasn't long at all, so we ordered an or-re-oh half size cone and a prickly pear half size cone. We didn't wait long for our order to be ready. The cones were made beautifully and were really big for a half size. Our consensus was that the cones were just okay. My husband wasn't a fan of the prickly pear flavored sherbet and wished he had gone with the baklava cone or (if it wasn't sold out) the pistachio flavored ice cream. We'll give this place a try again at some point.

Based on the high ratings and the fact that the place was packed when I went today clearly means this is going to be an unpopular opinion. So, to put it plainly, this ice cream just isn't very good in my opinion. The ordering process is quite simple, you choose a flavor, how you want it (ie cone or cup), choose an optional dip, and then choose from a list of 15 or so toppings (all of which cost .50 a piece). Among the list of toppings, many of them are quite experimental and un appetizing such as: "drizzle olive oil", olive oil cake, and sweet corn cake. As far as the flavors go, there are only 5 and the most "normal" flavors they have are chocolate and vanilla. There are then 3 dip choices. I got the chocolate milk flavor with almond dip and fruit pebbles on top. I love soft serve ice cream, but this ice cream just doesn't do it for me. The consistency is smooth, but it's the most buttery tasting ice cream I've ever had, and to "top it off" the chocolate milk flavor was almost bitter which didn't make for a great combo. It's also just very plain. Yes you can get toppings, but I wish there was something within the ice cream to break up the flavor a bit. I did however enjoy the almond dip, it's quite sweet and did offset the bitterness and butteriness of the ice cream a bit. I do think they would greatly benefit from having some "lighter" dip options to go with chocolate ice like a strawberry or something. I did like that they have some water that's out and available for free, and the inside of the store is very cute with their decorations and clean Overall, while of course didn't try more than what I ate, I'm not motivated after this first experience to come back and try more

amazing soft serve ice cream at such a reasonable price!! you can really customize your exact treat. i got strawberry and matcha with almond dip. it was phenomenal and i wish i could go back to get more. all the flavors i tried were incredible. the service is standard and sometimes the line can get long so be ready! ambiance is very chill, some tables inside and outside to enjoy your ice cream. highly recommend!

How cute is the icecream sign outside! And this place is caller Normal, I love it. Staff is extremely friendly. But omg! The ice cream! I got the ube flavor. There's just everything to love about it and more. The flavor? Brilliant! The texture? Brilliant! The creaminess? Brilliant! The smoothness? Brilliant! The magic in your mouth? Well yessss!!! Try it out and be a fan for life! I'm not even much of an ice cream person but I'd go here a million times! They have different flavors that they change seasonally. You can get a cone or a cup. And even the joint is so adorable to sit inside or outside to enjoy that delicious cream! I loved every bite of it and would just have loved to try more flavors. You can also customize it. I just took one flavor plain and that was so just the most delicious!

My husband got the chicken and waffles, and I got the Ricky burger with fries. We also got the waffle monster to share. My husband really liked his chicken and waffle. The presentation was adorable. If you're looking for pastries that are as stunning as they are delicious, Fillings & Emulsions…read moreabsolutely delivers. Their fruit-shaped creations are little works of art--so realistic it almost feels wrong to eat them... almost. Each pastry is fresh, light, and packed with flavor. The pistachio was incredibly tasty, though definitely on the richer side, so it's one you might want to savor slowly. The raspberry had a beautifully balanced sweetness with a vibrant, delicious filling. The lemon was very zingy--almost intensely so--but still delightful if you enjoy bold citrus flavors (just maybe not an entire one in a single sitting). The standout, though, was the mango. Easily the winner. It had such a bright, powerful flavor, and the fresh mango inside made every bite feel special. Everything about it--from taste to presentation--was just beautiful. The only slight letdown was the macarons. While still good, they didn't quite match the intensity and uniqueness of the pastries and felt a bit underwhelming in comparison. Overall, this place is a must-visit if you appreciate creative, high-quality desserts. It's clear a lot of skill and care goes into every piece. I loved the building that the pastry shop was in, as it had a "lunch room" feel to it. There are a few restaurants inside so there are options and there's plenty of seating.

I thought it sounded yummy since I enjoy matcha and ube. So I checked it out today for a post-lunch dessert. I really enjoyed it and definitely plan on returning to try some of their other offerings. Today I ordered the matcha ube shaved ice and the cherry blossom latte (I had them make mine using coconut milk). I ate the shaved ice at the cafe and took the cherry blossom latte to go because I wanted to drink it later. They put it in a cute bag! Since it was my first visit there I wanted to try the ube and matcha separately, so for the shaved ice I ordered matcha shaved ice on the bottom, followed by the matcha soft serve and then the ube soft serve on top of that. Next time I order the shaved ice, I think I will most likely have the matcha shaved ice with the matcha/ube twist soft serve on top now that I know how each one tastes on their own. I also would do matcha shaved ice with just the ube soft serve on top. Or maybe ube shaved ice with matcha soft serve on top. The matcha was tasty, and like other reviewers have said, you can tell it's good quality matcha. I really enjoyed the ube, it was very yummy to me. I think for my next visit I'm going to try the ube parfait. The cherry blossom latte was good. I got the sweetened version (it was lightly sweetened not super sweet, which I liked). I didn't want something super sweet. It didn't/doesn't have matcha in it. That was fine with me because I wanted to save it for later and didn't want to have caffeine later in the day. I do think it would taste good with matcha in it though. Overall I enjoyed this cafe. I look forward to trying more items. As of right now the other things I want to try are the ube parfait, the shaved ice again, the warabimochi, the hojicha yuzu latte, and the strawberry matcha latte. If you like matcha and/or ube, I would definitely recommend checking out Matcha Café Kyoto. I know I will be again. Support a local business so that they are able to stay around for us to enjoy.

I told her it was my first time but she didn't proceed with any recommendations. I decided to go with the ube matcha with oatmilk. She then asked if I'd like cream with it, I had asked if she suggested it and she responds with "well everyone gets it with creamer". Ok so I agreed to try it out. Why not cause everyone gets it with creamer right? I waited about 10 mins, which isn't bad considering the amount of people. She called my name and had 3 other drinks with her. I asked her if the one she was handing me was with oatmilk , and she says "well that's what you ordered right" I tried it and it wasn't oatmilk. I brought it up to her attention and she kinda just said "sorry" and that was all....unfortunately, I can't say it was the best service. If I decide to come back next time, I'll only get straight matcha instead of a latte just to try again. The matcha didn't have a strong taste to it. It was on the watery side. Perhaps I came on the wrong day a they were off with their orders. Who knows...

$7. 2 dark chocolate truffles. Bourbon & Marzipan $5.50. 1…read moresingle scoop Spumoni It took me a minute to get my bearings in this shop. There's a craft counter, a chocolate counter, and an ice cream counter, and no clear lines or what not. At first glance, it's not immediately obvious where to focus your attention, so I went with the ice cream for here and took the chocolates walking. The owner was out on the floor chatting with customers, which gave the place a welcoming and local feel. It was nice. A few times I hovered close to him and tried to find an opening to ask him some questions about the products, but he was busy with other guests. As for the history of the business, there are enough newspaper clippings and articles on the walls to keep anyone occupied while waiting. Most of the staff appeared to be high school- or younger college-aged employees handling the day-to-day operations. The ice cream isn't made in-house (it's Farr's brand), so this review is more about the experience than the product itself. The serving size was fair, and I opted for the spumoni. Yes, really, spumoni. Three other people in our group between their twenties and forties had never even heard of the flavor before. The ice cream is scooped from a mixed single barrel rather than barrel with separated sections, so the chocolate, pistachio, and cherry had blended together. It was kind of like putting different sodas into the same cup. While I enjoy ice cream and these flavors, others might not think the same. The standout items for me were the chocolates. The bourbon chocolate came with a huge flavor punch. It was rich, bold, and intense enough that I needed a break and a glass of water afterward. It's not for the faint of heart and you need to be serious about chocolates to have an appreciation for this one. The marzipan, on the other hand, was a perfect follow-up. Not to sweet, balanced, and a very nice almond flavor. It was delicious and served as a nice palate refresher after the bourbon's performance. Between the chocolates and the owner's visible presence this was an enjoyable stop. The chocolates were easily the stars of the visit and worth it if you're in the area.
