Absolutely beautiful and breathtaking! I was most definitely caught off guard by how green and well-maintained the trails at Clove Lakes Park were! Turtles, squirrels, and birds of all kind added to the experience. The trail I was on offered a lot of shade, so even though it was warm outside I did not feel overly hot or sweaty. It was also very quiet and peaceful, especially considering it was a Saturday afternoon. read more

THIS PARK needs lots of renovations. Lots of bikes and scooters all over the place with no enforcement here. Fishing line and bobbers tied up in trees and they are too lazy to remove it so the wildlife doesn't get tangled in it. Bathrooms are disgusting. read more

A pleasant park with several walkways, bridges, small waterfalls, and lots of small animals. During the Fall and Spring months (probably summer too), you can see many ducks, geese, turtles, squrriels, and other animals. There is also paddle-boating and a large soccer/baseball field for people to play in. read more

Pretty park that was super fun and relaxing to walk through. We decided to walk around the lake and look at the wildlife. We saw cranes, ducks, turtles, and fish. My husband lived next door to this park as a child and used to visit often.. made it all the more special to bring our 8 year old daughter to see where Daddy used to play! This park has a really laid back vibe that really lifted my mood upon arrival. Parking isn't vast, but there always seemed to be a spot.. We parked near the Stonehouse restaurant which was providing outdoor dining.. would love to come back and try out their menu. A group of us with kids ranging from 2 to 13 went on about a mile walk of the park.. it's lush and we found some really cool "hidden" spots that almost felt enchanted.. It was also nice to have one of the "resident" turtles come up and greet us.. only to be disappointed that we were not there to feed her. :-( People will be people and so there was a bit of trash around.. especially around the "waterfall" which made me sad. But other than that, seems well kept. There is a spot where you can grill and have a little outdoor gathering--not far from the parking lot. Overall, great experience and nice walk. Clove Lake park is impressive, it spans all the way from Victory to Forest. With 3 connected lakes, walking bridges and hiking trails, barbecue areas, play fields, boating, ice skating ring and even restaurant on ground, it is vast area to explore. There are plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the views. I love strolling down along park side on Royal Oaks Rd, and walking hiking trail to the lakes from there. Clove Lakes park is Forever Wild site, and will forever remains in it's beauty. read more

Clove Lakes Park will always have a place in my heart where nostalgia hits me in the feels. I loved the great fresh air, cleanliness, and the amazing view. It's actually a pretty long walk, but it's better to go on a good sunny day than when it gets late out. However it's connected to the SI cemetery when you walk further down, so go early if you want to walk all the way down. The boat rowing isn't bad either. Waters are still and you can hear nature make its call. There's this one great blue heron that strides across the lake while Canadian geese or ducks swim across the pond in groups. Do be careful of the trail though; bugs and debris/mud might seep into your shoes. This is a good place to relax, jog, fish, or play ball. There's a nearby restaurant docked near the boating area. I might go try that place next when it's not late. read more

This park is extremely peaceful, as long as you don't go when I bring my foster dog Pepita who barks maniacally at bicycles, other dogs, and birds. Im rehabilitating her so I apologize in advance if we see you. And yet, people were very gracious and tolerant. The weather was gorgeous, and therefore there was moderate space to park on martling. My friend and I parked two lawn chairs on the top of a hill and camped there for a bit to sun. I've walked the trail before and it's lovely. The lake, the trees, the well kept up lawn all make this one of the most relaxing places on the island. Now that I know where to find parking more easily, I will spend a lot more time here. In addition, lots of dogs are brought here to walk and people do a great job of cleaning up after their dogs which shows the residents care about preserving the cleanliness of this park. read more

We decided to stop here en route to a friend's house in jersey to stretch our legs and get our pup a little exercise. We easily found street parking and headed in to explore the trails. There are paved trails as well as dirt paths which gives a lot of different options and combinations. We saw lots of folks walking, running, with strollers, with dogs, with kids, and more. The trails were quiet but felt safe as you would run into people from time to time. Most of the trails we explored were shady which was great and might be good to know for some folks. We also checked out the lake and the bridge over it looked to be a popular spot to do some fishing or take some pictures. Many of the trails near the lake and creek have bridges so you can pass easily over the sides. The trails were very well maintained and there were trash receptacles and poop bag stations at many of the trail entrances. In addition to exploring the trails, we also saw people bring food and drinks for picnics as well as lawn games to play with friends or family...lots of great open space to enjoy here! read more

This park is absolutely amazing. With the duck pond and the jogging trails, there's even a picnic area, it's breathtaking I love walking/ jogging in this park. You can jog with the luxury of not worrying about stepping in dog poop. You see people young and old, in all shape and sizes getting their workout on. My second time at the park. This time we did the row boats. Here is a free tip for all of you stay away from Sunday afternoon it's packed with people who bring a million children with them. Go on a Saturday. We waited about 30 mins for a boat and all they had were row boats because all the paddle boats were broken. They had one guy work the whole thing alone. Trying to get the people in the boay, collect money, and run the snack shop. Poor guy worked very hard. He even had to run the out because a family got stuck in the water. We took the other direction and under the bridge. It was peaceful. There was a turtle hanging out, but the water looked nasty and there was so many huge tree branches. The price was cheap, 15 dollars for an hour. Just be prepared to wait and the boats are kinda nasty. Hats off to the guy who worked Sunday you my man get 5 stars. read more

A beautiful lake with a beautiful park to just relax and watch the beauty of nature. On a hot summer day it exhibits beautiful scenery of greenery settings. On a colder day you are able to ice skate next door. I would recommend any season. read more

Very nice peaceful park. Open space, lots of trees and nice flowers when in season. Ducks everywhere and you can feed them in the lake. Open tracks and paths for runners and fitness people. There is also row boats and paddle boats in season you can rent which is nice. There is also a restaurant more towards the back of the park also. Dog friendly on a leash at all times. Although I am no longer a Staten Island resident this is still one of my favorite parks on the island. I grew up here, playing HS baseball and even remember taking canoe rides with very old girlfriends. I used to live fairly close by and you couldn't take your bike here, but apparently they have relaxed that rule. It has a lot to offer, with the hiking and bike trails and love to come here in the Spring when the trees and flowers are blooming or the Fall when the trees change colors. They also have playgrounds for the kids. There is also a nice restaurant located by one of the footbridges called The Lake Club which is open for brunch, lunch and dinner. That is a review for another time. It is a very nice place to come to spread out a blanket and have a picnic with a significant other or family. read more

One of my favorite SI parks because there is so much you can do here. Enter from Martling Ave. and you can walk around the lake or take a hike on paved walkways up the hills (a little too deserted for me). Cross over Martling Ave. if you're looking for a quieter section of the park. If you walk towards Clove Rd. you can rent paddle boats (in the summer) or eat at the restaurant. There is also a great playground for the kids. There are baseball fields over here too. Check the parks department schedules, they offer lots of free classes. My kids loved the free fishing. This park is a great place to watch the wildlife too, we've seen everything from muskrats to snakes. read more

Probably wasn't a good idea to visit because of my pollen allergies but this park is beautiful. The air smelled crisp and fresh! I walked along the trail and I encountered so many different kinds of wild life. I'm not much of a nature person but I enjoy taking strolls. I've never seen a chipmunk before so imagine my surprise when several baby chipmunks crawled pass me! Not to mention, I saw several blue jays and red robins. I recommend taking your dog for a leisurely walk here or just coming here if you want to have a peaceful afternoon. read more

I used to come here a lot more in the past, before I moved to westchester county, but coming here for the new year while staying in Staten Island reminded me of how important it is to have lake and parks near by. This park was our favorite place for all kinds of activities. Winter or summer. The park is always beautiful. Ducks, running trails with no traffic lights, and relied green spaces. Great Running Trails! If your looking for a short 5K Trail run, this park is perfect. It's small but definitely great for a short run, the hills are great for training or for testing your limits. They have the main trail that you can run or you can switch it up and run on the off trails which are also amazing for testing limits. I really do enjoy this park for when I train. The park is never really crowded and they have enough room for running and circuit workout. I love working out in this park! read more

The park is well kept and the scenery is beautiful. There is fishing, basketball courts, paths to walk/run/bike on, baseball field, swings, workout area and lots of open space for any other activities you may be interested in. I came here a lot when I was younger to play and have picnics and it's still just as nice. I've been biking here recently to practice on the steep hills for the bike tour I have coming up. We're lucky to have such nice parks, we are the borough of parks for a reason. read more

I really love this park and have been coming here since I was a child. In the winter time there is an ice skating rink and in the summertime there are boat rentals on the lake as well as an enclosed water play area for the kids in the playground. Nice hilly terraine for walking in the woods or around the lake on paved paths. BBQ, Dog friendly. The shallow side water looks nasty but it was surprisingly clear enough to see a large snapping turtle chase after a wily cormorant . Access to row boats or paddle boats too. read more

I love this park! I have been here for multiple walks, such as Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (every year), March of Dimes, and the MS Walk. This park really does have it all and is well kept. The trails are great and can be long or short, depending on what you like. You can fish, walk, run, play sports. They have baseball fields and basketball courts and ice skating in the winter. The Lake Club is found within the park if you want to eat while you are there. There is the perfect amount of sun and shade, so it's a good place on a sunny day to go and relax. read more

What a lovely place! As an Upstate NY transplant, I find myself really missing grass, trees and nature in general. Its like everyone in Brooklyn has nothing but cement in their yards! WHY DO YOU GUYS DEPRIVE YOURSELF OF A LITTLE GRASS AND PLANTS?! Clove Lakes Park is perfect. Lots of trails, both paved and not, surrounded by tons of nature. I felt like I was miles and miles away from Brooklyn and NYC, which is exactly what I needed. The city is stressful, and its really nice to get away from the hustle and bustle and have time to relax and decompress. The park is a surprisingly short bus trip from Bay Ridge for those of us who don't own a vehicle. read more
