Went to ER for afib , as I walk thru security should have listened to my gut. 9 hours later having to observe this zoo I am just discussed at how that place is ran. A visit to ER should take no longer than 4hours on a busy day. Never again. It all needs improvement. Definitely no privacy. read more

My Daughter in law gave birth to my newest Granddaughter on Monday June 23 and both her and the baby were discharged the next day. Due to heavy and excessive hemorrhaging she went back to the hospital via ambulance early Sunday June 29. She soaked through 3 layers of clothing and sheets but was not tended to immediately. She went to the restroom where she fainted upon trying to exit the restroom and a nurse was patting her hand and asking her what is her name. My Daughter in law didn't even know that she had fainted. She told the Ambulance workers and ER Doctors that she suffers from anemia but she wasn't immediately taken care of. In my book Clovis Community deserves an F because they failed to take care of her immediately because severe blood loss can permanently affect the body. She lost so much blood that they told her they might have to give her a blood transfusion to which she told them only if necessary. Thank God that he blessed her and she has recovered. read more

Dr. Julia Lee from SPOC was my surgeon and is amazing. She did a wonderful job. Dr. Lee had authorized an overnight stay for 1 due to past medical history and was taking precautions. Check in-Admissions, Pre-op, Surgery, Recovery all was very professional and very professional. I had no problems at all, in fact when I woke up in recovery I was starving and it was past meal service time in the hospital but my recovery nurse Anthony was sweet and nice enough to bring me a meal in recovery while we were waiting for my room. Everyone that day was wonderful. When I got to my room and settled close to midnight the nursing staff was just changing shifts and my nurses on the 5th Floor, Post op were Cassie and Gabe. My Nurse Assistant was Ericka. They were all very attentive and we worked out the little bugs because of the time of night. I had great service and was attended too whenever I needed something. I really appreciated them and Ericka went the extra mile every time she could. I would also like to thank the 3 of them. The next morning shift change nurses and I rang for someone, anyone for some help. It took at least an hour for someone to show up and they told me I had to wait for a nurse. Which was another 2 hours and I had gone over needing my pain medication about 3 hours. Then they would not give me the medication which was prescribed the previous night if I needed it for major pain. I hadn't because my nurses kept my medication regulated to where I didn't go long periods of time without so my pain was manageable. The nurses that were there on the 5th Floor Post op were horrible on the morning shift which I believe started at 7 or 8 am. One (the worst one) Luz Morales should not be a nurse first of all, she was an LVN. Was rude, not at all helpful and comes in my room and Blurts out I was being discharged and the order was already in the computer. Which of course I knew I was only staying one night but never gave me a time, a timeframe or anything. Then leaves my room still without giving me my pain meds from the previous night. She disappeared for another hour or two leaving me to get out of bed and back in without assistance right after surgery. When I finally got ahold of a nurse they were arguing with me about the medication that was prescribed for me. The order from the night before was still in my chart but they wouldn't look for it. Finally about 4 hours later I saw an RN and had an argument with her about my pain medication. Needless to say, I was still waiting to be discharged and finally got my pain meds. I was waiting to pack my stuff up to leave but still wasn't told when that would be. They brought me lunch around noon and I had just finished eating when someone from the discharge desk comes in with a wheelchair and said we're leaving. Now, I still had no idea how the discharge process worked and was waiting for the paperwork to tell me what my home instructions were after discharge. I told them they would have to come back to give me time to call my ride home and pack my overnight bag. After I had to argue with this person she finally leaves says she'll be back in an hour and to call my ride. I was just getting ready to do that when another one from the discharge desk comes to tell me we're leaving. I had the same exact argument with her only she wouldn't leave my room. She kept telling me she would pack my things and I didn't want anyone else doing that. Last time I was in the hospital they lost my clothes. In the meantime they had called my sister and told her she needed to be there, they were discarding me immediately. She told them it would be at least 20 minutes before she could get there from across town. They called her right back and said she needed to hurry, so she did. She sat in her car over an hour and the dr had not even signed my discharge paperwork. Luz told me I was not even authorized to stay overnight that's why the paperwork was messed up. This place is the absolute worse place to have surgery! My husband was schedule for a 12 noon surgery and we had to be there by 10am. Arrived to register even those I did it on the phone the day before and they asked for payment 2800.00 without notice 1 day before surgery . I went online and did payment for surgery on my chart and let her know I did pay it online . Once we got to registration this morning again they asked for payment and I told her to Look online and it should say payment was made. Once my husband was put in his robe I stepped out and I was told if anything changes with his surgery they would notify me! but they didn't I thought they would have been done with his surgery by 145pm since it was a 11/2 hour surgery. Nope he was barely put back at 2pm with no notification his surgery was delayed. So for almost 3 hour he sat in his room by himself!! So pissed and upset I wasn't notified! Never again will I do surgery at this place! I would rather change doctors than come back here !! read more

Im frustrated that I am forced to give this facility any stars. Absolute worst medical center in all of the country. Not only have they been leaving patients in the hallway for days, but are discharging patients that require surgery or worse. Someone has to do something about this hospital, their lack of care, concern or treatment is ending the life of patients I'm sure. And it's not a new thing, had my son here 31 years ago and it was the worst experience i've ever had. I personally know two patients in the last 10 days diagnosed incorrectly and discharged. I'm from out of town and came to visit a relative who has been hospitalized here at Clovis Community Medical Center. The facility looked very impressive from the outside. Loved the beautiful landscape, fountain. I thought wow, this is a great looking place. I was impressed until I saw all the people in the emergency room. I started thinking, why would they have him in the emergency room? It's been 5 days since he checked in. So I asked for my friend's room. They sent me through hallways filled with people laying in beds in the hallways. I started getting a panic attack, I'm thinking there must be an epidemic here of some type. Maybe a nuclear explosion and nobody told me. Finally got to my friend. I asked what gives? He said this is the way it always is. I can only conclude that this place is either run by people that don't care or by incompetent administrators. read more

Must have been a thousand people going in the emergency room and they are going to take care of all that? I can say no it took to long to come to simple conclusion a primary care could have done. I've waited 15 hours with extreme abdominal pain to be discharged w ibuprofen and a misdiagnosis of a missed abortion. Which, as a lesbian who isn't sexually active, isn't possible. The amount of time that it takes hospitals in this area to see people should be absolutely unacceptable. Can't wait to get my bill. They also would not take my insurance information upon check-in. They told me they would get it later during my appointment. 15 hours was plenty of time and they would not take my card to add to the file during my appointment. Their suggestion to me is to come back and be seen again. Absolutely not ever again. read more

I went to Clovis Community's ER on Friday, April 26th. I was in extreme pain and had never been to an ER for my own health care. What an amazing group of staff they have there. Starting from front staff to the doctors and nurses. Although I did spend 15 hours there - it was well worth it. During these hours I received excellent care, a CT scan, an MRI, and blood work. Not to mention, nurses constantly checking on me, taking vitals, etc. The doctors on staff were amazing. I wish they were in private practice because if they were I would want to become their patient. Dr. Cawdery and Dr. Schneider were caring and most importantly very thorough. I was referred to the appropriate specialists and pretty much left with a diagnosis that had been missed prior to my going to CCMC. Thank you to all of the staff that work there. My score is for communication and wait time, not quality of care. My husband spent 14 hours in the ER lobby yesterday. They ran blood tests, gave him a CT scans and an ultrasound. They gave him medication for the pain and an IV because he was dehydrated due to vomiting. I called the ER and was told he was being admitted and given a surgical consult. He was not told that. We read the results of his tests on MyChart. They admitted him and gave him a surgical consult. He told the surgical consult dr that he was feeling better. The surgical consult dr told him they would get him a bed and he would check in with him again in the morning. Each time he was not getting a test or scan, he was sitting in the ER lobby. He was exhausted and there is no way to lie down. They told us he was waiting for a bed and it would take "a while". At the 14 hour mark, I pressed and asked on average how long " a while" is and they said 40 hours!! We left the ER against medical advice and will follow up with our physician. If they would have communicated that to us earlier we would have left much earlier. We need to be able to make informed decisions! It only costs us a copay if we need to return. read more

Am very pleased with care all around from pre-op to post-op. Arrived to appointment for pre-op blood testing, EKG & Covid-19 two days prior to scheduled surgery for Friday the 13th. From time of check in to being sent home everyone involved were very courteous, explained all details for procedure. Nurses & Dr Gann kept my daughter updated via text as to what was going on. One little hiccup was surgery was scheduled for 15:00 and didn't actually go into surgery until 19:00 hour. Can't complain, some surgeries take longer & beyond control. Stephanie Conte is one of the rudest doctors we have ever dealt with. She belittled my wife and made her feel as if she did not feel any pain. We did not want to have to come to the emergency room but the urgent care sent us with the hopes of giving some type of fluids to help and instead we get treated with little to no care. The ER saved my Mom's life. They were very thorough. Every staff member was kind and happily explained everything in detail. She was there two days and the doctor checked in with us a few times. The only thing they did quick here was run my credit card for copay which I didn't see them do to any other patient. Lots of folks in here using the ER for a primary care physician for a stomach ache. I'd really like to see this place care for their patients that are insured with actual medical emergencies that need to be addressed. I wouldn't recommend this place to my dog. read more

I am not a nurse, doctor but I feel that I was in a different place, overwhelmingly. No privacy at all. Is any one checking the hospitals. We came to Clovis Community Medical Center today for a procedure my husband was having at the Outpatient Care Center. I was impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of the staff at the hospital. The buildings have lots of natural light and are very well appointed. I had lunch at the Everts Bistro on the first floor. They serve gourmet sandwiches, wraps salads and fresh pastries. I was happily surprised that they also serve Peet's coffee. The quality of the food was excellent! I chose a rice bowl with noodles instead of rice, Asian vegetables and chicken. It was very tasty and good. Stop by and have something to eat. My 6 months daughter was taken here for an emergency since it was the closest available hospital at the time. She ended dying in the hospital. I was there holding her lifeless body while a Dr came in and asked me if I needed anything. I told them that I was feeling dizzy and nauseated and they said that they would get me some help. They gave me some paper to sign and didn't even take my insurance card which I provided to them at the time, they said they would take care of it later. A Dr, came in and gave me some medications for my dizziness and nausea. There was no discharge papers and no one went over my financials responsibility even though I gave them my insurance card. They just said to sign it and they'll take care of everything. A month later I got two separate bill one for $5,000 and one because apparently the doctor that was working there that day wasn't part of the hospital so we have to pay them another $1,000 for them to give me 2 medication for dizziness and nausea with no discharge paper no going over my rights and responsibility financially. This is very scummy practice. I was in a emotional distress situation holding my daughters lifeless body and feeling dizzy and nauseated. Having hospital who took advantage of this situation and then bill me later for a 10-minute procedure is insane. I felt taken advantage of and will definitely talk to a lawyer. read more

She did not greet me when I went up to the podium & was very quick to dismiss me by being short & rude. I am writing this on behalf of my husband because our experience was absolutely unprofessional and overall terrible! I'm leaving 2 stars only for the nurses on 8/30/24 working the night shift, and for the nurse on 8/31/24 day shift. These nurses were amazing and were definitely on it when it came to the needs of my husband. Now on to why i'm only leaving 2 stars. When we arrived at the ER on 8/30, my husband had severe DKA due to him being a type 1 diabetic. This is a very serious condition for someone with type 1 diabetes. He was pretty soon called to the back where a PA informed us that blood work would have to come back before they believed he had DKA. We sat in the waiting for 2 hours before I had to go up to the nurse station in the lobby and complain that my husband is getting 10 times worse. The nurse in the lobby understood and got him on fluids in the back pretty quickly. We were then informed that he was to be admitted for DKA!!! Then this is were the real issues come to play. We were given room Y-15 in the emergency department. Upon walking in, the try table was covered in rice and water. There was blood on the floor as well as the bed side rails. Also, needle caps, gauze, and other types of trash in the room. I myself had to clean such blood off of his bed rails!!! As i stated before, the first two nurses were incredible. They had him feeling much better before saturday (8/31) might. then came saturday night (8/31) this nurse failed to give him insulin for over 9 hours!!! Mind you, he's a type 1 diabetic and can't go without insulin. He then called the nurse in and they checked his sugars which sure enough... they were beyond high!! His symptoms started returning which got us very worried. We then had a VERY rude nurse on sunday (9/1) whose name was Margaret!! She was very condescending from the moment she came in to introduce herself. At around 8am, she came in to check his sugars and they were again high. She informed us she would be right back with insulin and to no surprise, it wasn't until 10:30 when she came back to give him his necessary insulin dose. At 12, he felt his sugars getting high again. So he called margaret in to check his sugars and she said ok let me go get the items for it. she walked outside of the room and proceeded to speak to another lady at the desk and say "he's just like check my sugars, check my sugars" as she rolled her eyes. She went on to say "I don't have the f'ing time for this." We then asked to speak with the doctor immediately because my husbands condition was getting worse and worse. Margaret then told us we just need to wait and it could be hours. I asked for a charge nurse and she was able to get the doctor to us very quickly. I explained to her that it was the nurses fault he is getting worse. Dr.Phan responded with "i don't think our nurses are used to working with someone with his type of diabetes." Then why are these nurses caring for him!?!?!? She also said that she wasn't providing him with enough insulin. Which she should have known saturday night when his numbers were going up and he was feeling worse!! At this point, she said we'd have to restart all treatment and basically all he needed was more insulin. which caused up to be VERY upset. We decided that we could give him better treatment at home with a pump that gives him constant insulin! so we signed and AMA and left. Since being home for a day and a half, he has already started feeling better! We will never be back here. The nurses and doctors who handled his care have no idea what they're doing, and need to learn it asap; before others face the same incorrect treatment that my husband received!! read more

I am not a fan of hospitals as they are for the sick and injured, which I want to be neither. But, we need these institutions and sometimes we have to visit friends and family who are sick and injured. We always hope for a good outcome, whether patient or guest. Clovis Community provides that outcome. The hospital has taken steps to make sure everything is labeled and directions to get in and around the grounds are quite clear. "Turn here," "Don't turn here," signs are everywhere which helps while the hospital is under construction. The personnel at the information desks are very quick, helpful, and considerate. They know that being in a hospital setting can be hard. I was amazed at the quick responses I got wherever I stopped for help. Patients are well cared for, too, which makes for family and friends feeling better. It's a long ways across town for me to go to Clovis Community, but I would highly recommend this institution to anyone who needs a hospital. read more

My husband was stumbling as we walked in and the security guard and check in lady refused to let me "his wife" go in. We are from Nevada and they don't do this AT ALL there. I can't even rate the staff that helped my husband because I wasn't there. How does a hospital look so nice on the outside but function so poorly? I like taking the HealthQuest seminars at the H . Marcus Radin Conference Room here at the Clovis Community Medical Center. Parking in the parking structure is free, close enough to the conference room, the room is spacious and clean, the restrooms are clean . . So far I've taken three seminars here , one on skin cancer prevention , neurological diseases prevention and the cardiovascular disease prevention All tHree seminars were interesting ,informative and well put. The physicians were great speakers, it wasn't boring , one hour seminar went fast. Those seminars are free to the public in the community and I really appreciate it. I recently delivered my first baby at this hospital and I would say that for my first hospital/surgery experience it went well. The care I received was fine, nothing above and beyond. When we got checked in and soon felt a little uncomfortable because it was clear the nurses were understaffed. Two nurses had a conversation in front of my husband and I about not being able to take their lunches because of my c-section. It just made us uncomfortable and we felt like an inconvenience to them. After the delivery, we had several nurses come and go. Out of all the nurses that cared for us, one was outstanding names Sukhi! We were so thankful to have had her as our night nurse. What has been incredibly frustrating is that before the birth I called my doctor to get an idea of the cost for our hospital stay. We hadn't hit the maximum on our insurance and a portion of the hospital stay was going to be out of our pocket. I understood that because I was having a c-section there might be several different bills (one for the surgery, one of the anesthesiologist, one for the assist. surgeon, one for the hospital stay). My doctor told me what their portion would be and they said to call the hospital and they could get me the rest of the info. I called multiple times, multiple days, got passed around from one department to the next for over 45 minutes one day and nobody was helpful or knowledgeable. How can you not be able to give me information or even an estimate on the cost of one night in the L&D? It was like nobody had ever asked that question before...? I called again today about my My Chart account being locked out and the operator basically told me that they get this question a lot, but there was no one in the hospital that works on those accounts, so she couldn't help me. I asked if there was any contact info they had, or an email or number and she told me flatly no. The account is WITH Community Medical Center, so someone in the hospital works with those accounts... (FYI the email to contact with any My Chart questions is MyChart@communitymedical.org). I just hope I don't have to deal with CCMC much more in the future, because overall my experience has been more frustrating than good. read more

Clearly the best emergency ROOM, St. Agnes did not consider a DVT, as needing emergency care, Deep Vein Thrombosis which can kill you immediately if it travels. Besides, St, Agnes is a real dump. Community Reginal is a joke, you will be dead by the time you even find it. Clovis took me in and treated me with respect. They did an EMG, chest ex-rays, blood test and ultrasound 123. BEST HOSPITAL EVER!!! I can't emphasize this enough. In September I became ill for 3 weeks. I live in madera (45 min away) and the madera hospital is less than 5 minutes away from me. Madera hospital gave horrible service, and I went to the CLOVIS hospital 2 days later. The Clovis hospital weas able to explain and treat my physical symptoms, unlike madera who tend to resort to the diagnosis of "anxiety" when they can't explain what's wrong. I have never felt so validated and cared for. The medical staff at Clovis is literally AMAZING!!! I can't imagine how exhausted they are, yet they treat their patients like they are the most important in the world. They have time to make u feel welcomed, and make sure they do what they can to make your visit as best as possible. I particularly loved my doctor Monique, the person who drew my blood - Destiny, my incredible nurse David, and my EKG technician Kathleen. After I was released I was waiting outside to be picked up, and noticed my doctor was leaving for the day. When I said bye, she literally took the time to walk over and talk to me for a few minutes. Like, who does that? Other than someone who loves their job and patients. From now on, this will be my hospital in case of emergencies. I had a total knee extension replacement at Clovis Community Hospital on Sept. 2. I have to say, particularly in light of hospitals dealing with the pandemic, my experience at Clovis Community Hospital was very positive. I arranged to transportation to the hospital through my insurance 4 days before my surgery. My driver didn't show up at the scheduled time. I finally got to the hospital an hour late. Even though it made the staff have to rush, they were accommodating to my being late. The hospital was so packed they had to put 2 patients in a room meant for 1. Even so, I felt the care I received was first rate and the staff took all safety precautions. Very positive experience. I took my 6 year old son in to the ER today at Clovis community hospital because he had a really bad fever and a UTI and a really bad flu. He was crying and screaming on the top of his lungs saying "it burns" while holding his private area and the nurses were walking by us like he didn't even exist... none of them made the slightest effort to come comfort him or check on him. The lady that had us sign the paperwork at the very front desk to check us in was very rude and had no empathy what so ever either. I've never had an experience like this at any of the other hospitals in town where the nurses did not care about the patients at all and they were just treating it like it was another day at work for them. Usually nurses are caring and work in this field because they want to help others and treat the patients with respect and empathy. I will never bring my children to this hospital ever again, and I will let my family and friends know to do the same. I will be filing a complaint at the hospital tomorrow as well for the way they handled the situation. My son was screaming and in so much pain and I had to grab him and take him straight to valley children's hospital and they assisted and comforted him right away. Clovis community is a joke and they have some of the most grumpy and rude employees in the ER room that I've ever seen. They do not care about their patients what so ever read more

This hospital is the place you want to be if you're about to have a baby!!! the doctors the nurses the medical assistants, the techs, everyone is so wonderful. I've been here with my girlfriend and her husband for the last 48 hours and it is her first baby .... She was having some complications, and as expected was really scared. ALL OF THE STAFF the person who took her food order, the person who changed the linens. to the techs who wheeled her everywhere, the Amazing doctor, the Sainted anesthesiologist, the magical and absolutely unparalleled nurses and their assistants ....THEY WERE ALL AMAZING, PATIENT KIND AND SUPPORTIVE !!! the labor and delivery wing walks on water !!! So....A few hours ago, my friend, had her beautiful baby and now that I'm walking out and as I write this, my friend is literally glowing like a marathon runner who has just cross the finish line with her team (+1!). Having a successful and wonderful birthing experience is priceless and that is what this hospital gave to my friend ....so again if you're gonna have a baby, it's worth the trip to Clovis community medical center! I wish i can give 0 stars. This place is awful. Every single nurse take their sweet time. Ive been here for hours on end and when we are finally able to be discharge they take 30 minute and more to print out a single document!!! My aunt is already tired and exhausted and so am i! read more

I recently gave birth here and my experience was pretty good for a start. The nurses I met were wonderful. You get a different taste of nurses upon every shift. Some will be really helpful and some that aren't so much. The bedside food service for mommas was very helpful. The NICU nurses are super sweet and caring. It's easy to build relationships with the staff here. It wasn't so great that I had to get IV's placed 4 different times. The IV placed that bubbled my arm was a concern. But, the care I was provided is what I would somewhat expect. I did wish that there was a bathtub for mommas going through labor contractions. Never once did I feel gaslit and I felt comfortable opening up and sharing how I felt. read more
