The dance floor was full but enough space for all the dancing. The female caller was inclusive and direct, re-teaching steps when she saw some groups struggling, and she had great chemistry with her band. You really don't need to know anything about square dancing, she taught everything you needed to know. It was my first time square dancing, and although I was anxious about switching partners/dancing with strangers, it seemed like the caller took that into account: you start with just your partner, then find another couple, then you find two other couples, and all these formations ease you into switching partners. I was sweating by dance #2, but I stuck around until the band took a break after 1.5 hours. I had three complaints: her mic was not loud enough, the water machine was broken, and not enough chairs for folks taking a break. However, besides those concerns, square dancing made for a great, affordable date night.

There was also very clearly some operation happening outside where "homeless people" that were clearly just grifters kept getting sent to try and hassle people at the front door. I know for a fact that these people weren't actually homeless - as a homeless person wouldn't have left as soon as I looked them in the eye and called them a fake, they would've just called me an asshole and moved on about tryna get by. The fact that people kept fucking off and replaced by new ones everytime I clocked the hustle means I am correct - there was a shakedown operation happening out front. All the while? There was only one security guard - and all he did was check ID's. I'm sure the dude would've done more if he was properly equipped though. Y'all sincerely need to get your shit together. That was fucking awful. If you are a woman, or empathetic - do not come to this establishment. Apparently you do not have a choice in the matter, you will be manipulated somehow.

And the bartender gave me the dirtiest look that made me question if I had known him as a child and did something wrong to him because he looked at me like I was his number one enemy. Then he said "yeahhh we're like ..... getting ready to be done....." and I said "okay is there time for one drink? Or did you already do last call" Then he just kept looking off and said yeah no. We're done. And I said okay! No problem. I was curious what was happening in the back like if it was a DJ or karaoke or what because I hadn't seen the set up before and like I said I like this place for shows. I was just genuinely curious and I was preparing to leave no matter what but like F SAKE can a girl not ask a bartender a question about the establishment??? Again he looked at me like we had ancestral beef, like he had been hating me and my families bloodline for years. And he just kind of ignored me. And said something like "you can't just go back there and hangout" and I said "I know, I was just asking. I thought it might have been karaoke or open mic I didn't know you guys did that here" Then he ignored me. Like I was not trying to hangout and get a drink after he already told me no I was just curious because if there was karaoke I'd like to come back for it!!!! It's super super divey and oddly really long. You can tell it's a good music scene and dance space because there was a DJ and he was trying out a lot of different things so we had the dance for all to ourselves. We also found some random Halloween decoration that we ended up dancing with. I guess there's food here because Yelp is offering it to me as an option to review, but I have never eaten here. The drinks are all well and you should not expect a drink anything faster than a beer or a well drink. I really liked how empty it was and the music was really made for us. I had a great time and I would definitely stop by again. It also feels like one of those places that's a fever dream.

The Mirage has Valet parking which is $20 I don't mind paying for the convenience, honestly I don't have time to find parking on a busy Saturday night downtown then hike it in 5inch heels to the club. Sorry that's not my "thing" but if you don't mind, there is a garage and parking lot in the vicinity. My birthday just so happens to fall two days before Halloween. So this particular Saturday night was a Masquerade/Halloween party. The place had a really good crowd of 25 and older everyone was partied respectively. I rented a VIP section for the night, my only gripe with VIP is the waitress should be more attentive. Well then again I really can't be upset with her because it looked as if she was the only one working the entire club. So let me re phase, the club needs to staff maybe one or two more waitresses, that way there is service for each VIP area. I will say the club promoters for that night really did a good job with the added entertainment. I would talk about who and what the entertainment was but unfortunately this a PG and Not! It felt like the decision was based more on personal bias than anything that actually happened. If security is there to keep things safe and fair, they should at least take the time to investigate before throwing people out. Acting like a tough guy and refusing to listen doesn't solve anything it just makes the place look bad.

We at least got that and I can say I've been here. In all, cool spot and venue but just not necessarily my kind vibe...if you catch my drift. One thing to share....the drinks are mad strong and the bathrooms were super clean. lol. Worth a visit when in this area and looking for something to do on the late night tip....because most other places in the Baltimore Harbor area are closed by 10pm or before midnight.
