Overpriced dive bar! I met up with a group for drinks. Parking is terrible in this area. There's two bars. I got a cranberry vodka, Titos to be exact. It was $15. Kinda pricey to me and not because I'm cheap, but there was barely any alcohol in the tiny plastic cup. The bartender was nice though. The music was decent. I was about to go into the spot and the bouncer told me I couldn't wear sweats (which I wasn't, as I was wearing Adidas NMD joggers that are not made in the same material as sweatpants). Very weird behavior. It gets annoying coming to spots like this where there's a haphazard dress code that doesn't match with the fashion of 2021. There was nothing "tacky" or "athletic" with what I was wearing. Oh well. There are better places in the area that are more inclusive and sensible to visit. I definitely won't be back. read more

I went to Moby's a couple weeks back on a Saturday night. My group of friends and I arrived around 11pm which seemed to be the perfect time -- there was no line outside so we were able to just walk in. The was a $10 cover for both males and females. To be honest, after seeing my female friends being charged $10, I expected to pay more to get in but to my pleasant surprise we were all the same rate. There are two bars, one at the very front of the space and another at the very back. We quickly scooted past the first bar as it was packed and went to the bar towards the back. We were served $8 rail drinks in pretty quick fashion. I thought the price per drink was a bit high for the area, but we went with it. We set up shop just outside of the dance floor which was decently sized. Within 30 minutes of our arrival the place was pretty full and the energy was high. The DJ was great -- played a mix of 90's music, top 40's hip hop, and bmore club. We were all having a nice time! The later it got the more 'interesting' our night became. My female friends were pretty consistently harassed, cat-called, and grabbed by creepy men. I had to play security guard a few times which is never fun. Secondly, one gentleman not so politely advised me that I watch out where I'm dancing (while on the dance floor) because he didn't want anyone to step on his "brand new $1,000 shoes". I took a good look at his shoes and wondered why they cost $1,000 but I decided not to bring that question up. I also wondered why he would wear such a pair of shoes then stand in the middle of the dance floor....but I decided to keep that inquiry to myself as well. An establishment can sometimes be a reflection of the types of folks it attracts which is this case was a mix of good and ratch. All things considered, it was a fun evening and should I return, I will most certainly wear my $1,000 pair of shoes. read more

This place is a little less than average in my book. I went as part of a birthday crowd and from the start I was scratching my head due to them asking a cover charge when it's past midnight....? $10 are you serious? I said something and the guy was like yea it is late ok, then continues to charge others. The men in the group they made sure to pat down the chest and their pockets. After getting through the door, you will realize it a very diverse atmosphere. The music that was playing was all hip hop. There are only a few places you have a choice of sitting and most of the chairs had people sitting in them or piles of jackets on the chair. There is a main dance floor and lights with a mirror as well. They also have a few TVs, one was playing the news and the rest of them were playing the music video to the song that was playing at the moment. I was the DD so I didn't drink but I did deal with the bartender from time to time, and one of the ladies was really friendly with a nice smile on her face. The other lady seem either age didn't want to be there or someone had pissed her off. Either way smile sweetheart! The drinks were pretty expensive. The group that were drinking had a round of crown royal...(the placed in plastic shot glasses)...and then a shot of lemon drops...(apparently tasted majority of lemon juice). They had several more drinks but I honestly couldn't keep up. I did realize towards the end of the night I did see two police men standing at the front of the club. This is more of a casual bar so you don't have to worry about dressing too fancy to fit right in. I didn't go to the back bar but it wasn't crowded back there so I didn't see any problems if you needed to. All in all if you like hip hop music, then you might want to try it out, but if you don't you really aren't missing anything. read more

Ehhh nothing to write home about. This is the only bar where you can find hip hop music down fells point consistently. But that plus is also its minus there are so many ppl in this bar its always too hot and too packed. Lets not even get into the $15 credit card minimum, forget paying for a drink and being on your way they will hold your card until you hit that minimum. And they are ridiculous with charging for sodas and juices. A nice little place to dance the night away to the latest and some classic hip hop. You can lean on the wall and watch or get on the dance floor and mingle. There's security but they aren't overbearing so you're allowed to have a good time. They do their very best to maintain order and %99 of the time you will have zero worries. Since drinks aren't watered down after about 5 of what ever you're having you'll be lit lol. No sweats and no black or white T shirts. Go have fun and relax... go live on FB or take selfies all night. Either way you'll have some thing to talk about the next day. This is the place to turn up if you are in Fells Point..during any day of the week lol. I come here every now and then with my friends. Last time I came it was on a weekday and it got packed. I always enjoy the music(they play a hip hop and reggae sometimes). It is a bar but no food served here. Drinks are usually strong I dont do mixed drinks that often and they don't charge too much either. If you get here early it is free to get in, they check id at door and no plain black shirts allowed in. After a certain time they start charging and I think price is higher on weekends. read more

We went on a Saturday night. I can appreciate that there was barely any wait outside and we were quickly inside although they charge a cover. The crowd skews a bit young but the music was good if you are into hip-hop. When you get in keep walking towards the back. You will probably find more space. That's what we did and were able to find an area where we could breathe and dance the night away. There also was a bar area in the back that was easily accessible. The bartender was really friendly and provided quick service especially once she realized that I was tipping heavy that night. No complaints. We had a great time. What a dump. It looks and sounds sharp enough, but if you're passing by it, it's likely empty, or near-empty. Why? The drinks are shit (okay, I'm hard to please, but seriously? I had to ask for four different drinks before they had the right alcohol to make one?) and they're made weak as hell. Moby's is a tiny hole in the wall wannabe sports bar meets wannabe dance club. I avoided this place like the plague when I lived here because it's very much not my scene. But one night we were walking by and the door guy was imploring us to come in. After my wife said something to the effect of, "no thanks...we don't do sports bars", he countered by saying that they were having a Brit-pop/Electroclash evening that night. It literally stopped us in our tracks, and we collectively made that Scooby Doo noise, "Huuuuuunnnnhhhh?!?!" So we went inside, and sure enough, the DJ was actually playing good music. But it was also dead, because I imagine that most people like us would also never set foot in here under normal conditions. About once every 15 minutes or so, one of the more regular-type patrons would walk in, make a weird face, and leave. After that one evening, however, I never walked by while there was anything worthwhile going on inside. Mobys used to be my every other Saturday night spot. I stopped going not for any bad reasons but because I don't go out as much as I used to. Its a cool spot. It doesn't get crowded until about 12 and then its like a bunch of sardines packed into a can. Too small of a space but the music is good and the crowd is ok. Sometimes there are fights when it lets out but police are always outside around 1:40. The drinks are ok. Its nothing to scream about but If you like a lot of rap and hood music then this is your spot. Anything sounds good after a few drinks though lol read more

Worst experience EVER. Card machine stopped working when I was trying leave and I did not have any cash. They reset the machine and tried a couple things to fix it. I waited about 30 minutes while they figure it out. Then they just had me waiting there not trying to give my card and ID Back bc the machine wasn't working. When they finally give me my card and I.D back so I could leave it was closing time. Immediately after I walked out the door I realized I left my keys on the bar. I asked the bouncer could I get them he stated I couldn't go back in there. So I asked him could he please go get them. He stated WE MIGHT HAVE YOUR KEYS IF YOU HAVE 20 dollars. I told him I don't have cash can you just give me my keys back I'm just trying to go home. He stated WELL CATCH AN UBER you got the money YOU WALKED OUT ON YOUR 26 DOLLAR TAB. I enjoyed the event last night. The dance floor was active and there were some talented performers to watch as well. The happy hour specials were nice too. However, I was incensed by the fact that the bartender initially tried to refuse giving me a cup of water, saying that it was their policy to only provide bottled water for three dollars. In my opinion, any place that serves alcohol should freely provide tap water (it doesn't cost them anything!) to prevent their customers from becoming dehydrated from the booze.
