Good day Club Champion, I just visited your location in Schaumburg, Illinois. You have such a group of professionals at this location they need a pay raise. I stopped in without an appointment just to ask it they would have time to adjust my putter and with in minutes my club was done. Any other club fitter would have told me to drop off my club and come back in a week. Not this location. This isn't my first visit at this location, I have always been impressed with all of them being so polite and professional in the way they have always treated me. Why anybody would go elsewhere for new clubs or repairs is beyond me, I've gone to the big box stores and believe me, they don't hold a candle for service or professionalism. All I can say is this, if anybody is looking for golf clubs or repairs and most importantly, talk to a professional that knows what they're talking about the Schaumburg office is the place to go. After completing my driver fitting, I took home my quote to think about it. The following week I reached out to my fitter for a couple questions. I never heard back until I reached back out 4 days later. I then reached back out a few days later to move forward with my fitting and I again didn't hear back from anyone for a week. I called again to communicate my frustrations at this point, and my fitter was not available so someone took a message and said I would get a call back the next day. Still nothing as I write this. I find it very perplexing that I can't give my money away. In addition to all this, I was sent an email from club champion to activate my account online. When I tried doing that, I kept getting an error and I reached out to Club Champion at info@clubchampiongolf.com and no one responded. On top of all this, I also had dropped off a club to repair during my driver fitting and was told it would be done in 48 hours. I never got a call back about it and when I called 4 days later to get it back, I was told it would be done that day which means it would not have been done had I never called. All in all, I've spent close to $5000 in fitting with club champion and unfortunately, I don't think I could go back again knowing these experiences and would take my money to the PGA Superstore. read more

Golf is a game that is very technical and the smallest tweaks to your equipment can have an effect on your performance which is why I sought out club champion with the hopes of improvement. Instead, I have had nothing but regret after over a year of "working it out". I am a 7 handicap and take golf very seriously. After a full summer of struggling with my $2k+ iron purchase I am beyond frustrated. I have always played +1/2" and 2 degrees upright in irons. Upon completion of my fitting, I was told that I need to be 2 degrees flat. I insisted that this was incorrect but after further conversation with the salesmen, I went with it and trusted the "professional" club fitter. Well, here I am into my second summer and have never been so inconsistent with my iron play. The whole point of this process was to improve my game and now I am actually regressing. Now I am starting to question this whole process. After further investigation, I, like many others, was put into Accra shafts only to find out that these are the largest margin shafts Club Champion sells. Why was I put into these shafts? Was it because of the markup or was it truly the best fit for my game? Not to mention, when I was going through the fitting, the hosel kept coming loose every other swing. The fitter had to retighten constantly. How was that considered an accurate fitting with broken equipment. Also, the price I ended up paying for the irons was higher than the original quote. When I asked about it, I was told that the shaft prices "fluctuate". At the end of the day, I am not sure if it is a lie and loft issue or if the entire fitting was incorrect because of the greediness of a salesman. I signed up for an iron only fitting with Brad Gehrke and he was extremely helpful and fun to work with. I'm admittedly a subpar golfer (usually shoot around 100) and have been using a set of TaylorMade M2 graphite irons for the past couple years. Brad listened to my issues and had me hit a ton of balls on the trackman to get a gauge my swing type. Brad immediately realized my swing is too fast for my current set and recommended a number of stiffer shaft options. I tested several before falling in love with the Oban CT-115 Steel X shaft (orange circle in the picture below). I was blown away how much better my swing felt after the session. Instead of trying to upsell me with a new set of clubs, Brad suggested reshafting my M2's which saved a lot of money relative to buying new. Brad is a blast to work with - 10/10 would recommend to any level of golfer! read more

I'm leaving this review for Austin Lail. He was very helpful and patient, explained what he was doing as we went along, and gave me a great fit for my wedges. He also responded to my email at 9PM on a Sunday night and that alone deserves 5 stars. Location uses Trackman; I personally prefer GC Quad for the club data. To everyone complaining about club delivery times - this isn't directly Club Champion's fault, every manufacturer is delayed during Covid. Maybe they can communicate better about it, but I had to wait 3 months for my Titleist clubs shipping directly from Titleist. read more

Hi! Like many, we had a really great experience with Club champion initially. I'm not even a golfer, and watching my husband complete the fitting was extremely fun. He was so excited, and we left feeling enthusiastic about getting the clubs. I had given this as a milestone birthday gift, and I felt like I had totally come through for him as a wife with the best gift ever! The major issue is that once they have fit you, and you've paid for the expensive clubs that are going to made for you, they're literally impossible to get ahold of. We've tried calling headquarters, messages at the store (can't reach a live person), emailing our salesperson, Facebook messenger, the whole thing. They verbally agreed to 4-6 weeks (this was January 2021, so certainly long enough to understand how covid would affect or delay their supplies), and it's been 7, and the only person we were able to reach said "maybe another month," with no actual information. We had been trying to get ahold of them since early February (one week after he got fit) to change the order, and have been totally unable to reach anyone for over 6 weeks, even before we knethe clubs were going to be late. There is likely a company that would provide a similar service at a better price, with much better services on the back end. read more

I was fitted into new clubs last summer with Club Champion aware that I was in the beginning stages of golf, didn't want to overpay and needed clubs that were more forgiving. With that being said, they selected an expensive driver for me with a custom shaft and to top it off, gave me less than an 8 degree loft which obviously isn't suited for someone with my game. In retrospect, it is clear they were trying to charge as much as possible without much regard for the customer. I wish I was more aware of what I was getting into last summer during the fitting, but as I have played more over the last year, I have become more aware of just how poor of an experience and money grab this was. read more

Horrible customer service experience. After taking my driver into the Club Champion on Ohio St. in Chicago I was told that it would take 5 days for the shaft to be sent to the store and built. After 6 days I called into the customer service number to see if the driver was ready to be picked up. I was told that it was ready to go, and that I could come into the store to get it. Upon getting to the store nobody there knew what was going on regarding my driver. I left being told that the sales rep that built my driver would call me the next day to pick it up. The following day the sales rep texted me at e.o.d that the driver was ready. The next morning, I went back to the store to get my driver. Again, nobody knew what was going on. In fact, I had to go through the store with a different sales rep to help them find my driver head that was lost in the back among a bunch of equipment. The sales rep told me that I should expect to get a call regarding my driver the following day. I waited 3 days before calling back into the customer service number to check on the status of my driver and asking to speak with a manager about the confusion for a simple shaft change. The call rep told me that I could go up to the store and pick the driver up and that a manager would call me later that day or the following day. Once again, I went up to the store and once again the driver was not there, and nobody knew what was going on. I was again told that the original sales rep would be calling me that day to make sure I could get my driver asap. I made it clear I needed it as I had several rounds scheduled that I would need it for. I waited a full week for a call from the manger and store, but as I had come to expect the call never came. I once again called into the customer service line and asked to speak with a manager. The call representative said that he did not have the ability to connect me via phone to the manager, but did acknowledge that the manager had been emailed and was asked to call me, clearly, he dropped the ball on making that call to me. Finally, 21 days after dropping my driver off, the manager called me, unfortunately I was on another call. I called him back 10 min later and left him a voicemail asking him to call me back any time. Again, no call back. Finally, I called the manager back, 29 days after dropping my driver off, and he informed me that the driver had been built and was waiting at the front desk for me. Why the store never called me to inform me the driver was ready is beyond me. The manager was quick to rush me off the phone and when I asked for a discount offered me a 15% discount. While I appreciated the discount, I feel that holding my driver for one month during the height of golf season in a cold weather city would warrant a deeper discount on the driver shaft. I would have liked to communicate this to the manager, but he was so quick to get me off the phone I was unable to do that. What was most frustrating about this process was the complete lack of communication. I went into the store during work days on multiple occasions only to have to run around the shop helping them organize and find my materials. The original sales representative only reached out to me once via text and was clearly the leading factor in the confusion. Rather than take control of the situation it was clear he tried to avoid it however he could. I had to pay the full $369.54 up front so he had no concerns about his commission (assuming he is on commission). Furthermore, the mangers lack of communication and curtness with me was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. This is the first time I have ever left a review (good or bad) online, but I hope to help others avoid an unorganized and unprofessional experience. You are much better off going to the PGA superstore in Chicago or golf galaxy. read more

Follow-up to my initial review. Club Champion did follow-up to my review and they went 1 for 2. They committed to returning my old wedges and refunding the $100 fitting fee. I did receive my old wedges within a few days of the original review. However, the $100 was never refunded and no other compensation was offered. The customer experience and customer service is severely lacking. So long Club Champion. The Fitting Lab in River North or GolfTech will be getting my next visit. read more

I should preface this with the fact that the clubs they fitted me for are awesome. I loved the fitting process and working with their team. The problems come after that process is complete. Their customer service is very poor. I got fitted in the White Plains, NY location but live in Chicago. First, they don't provide a phone number for any individual store so you can't call them. You have to get redirected to their headquarter call center that you wait in forever. They give you the option of requesting a call back, which I took, but they never call back. The second issue for me wraps into the first. Since I couldn't call them it was impossible to get information about my clubs/when they'd be shipped. When my father went to the store to pick my clubs up, it seemed like no one was there and he had to wait outside for 15 mins before someone came to the door. Club champ gave me 3 free 1-hour sessions at their trackmans to get used to my new clubs: a very nice gesture. But of course it's impossible to use those sessions because nobody picks up the phone. I loved the fitting experience and my clubs. But I spent a lot of money to get these clubs and the customer service was just not good enough. If you have customers spending literally thousands of dollars for fittings then you should have a serious customer service operation. Apple sells good products but they back it up with a legit service operation. Unfortunately, not at club champion! read more

Interesting place... I'm a big fan of science in sports and a new golfer so I thought it would be a great way to get set up with some new, custom clubs that fit perfectly, are an appropriate level, and something I could really improve with. I did an iron fitting, with the expectation that if it went well that I'd sign up for putter, driver and fairway wood fitting as well. The fitting was pretty fantastic, I must say. I was able to try all of the newest clubs heads with an insane number of shafts, adjusting lie angles on the fly and comparing the results within minutes. I already had a set that I had in mind from recommendations and it, funny enough, turned out to be the set that I was hitting the ball best with. I don't know if that was "fulfill my own destiny" kind of thing or if it was just a coincidence, but I couldn't argue with the results. An extra 10 yards of carry and 15 yards overall (which has turned into almost 15 yards of carry and 20 overall as I've improved). So, what went wrong? Well, I'm a price shopper. I look up and down to make sure I'm getting the best price, hands down. After all of the customization (club heads, custom shafts, grips, etc.) my total for 5-GW, 2 Hybrids and a 56 degree wedge was over $1800. That's a pretty penny for sure, especially when I could get whole thing for around $1100 without the customizations. Turns out, the "custom" shafts and the exact same grips that I was going to order were actually offered by Mizuno (the club manufacturer) as an inexpensive upgrade and that I could order them online from a popular online custom club retailer (Golf Smith dot Com) for a fraction of the price. After telling my Club Champion rep that I was looking for other pricing he seemed happy to oblige and fill in any gaps that I was left with. That was great of him. However, when I found the complete customization for $500 less than what he was going to charge me and I (politely) asked him if I was missing something or if their prices where just that more expensive. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt to see if there was really a reason that they were more expensive. Unfortunately, he never took the time to write back to me. I was pretty sure I knew the answer with some diligent research, but he confirmed it with that non-response. I thought it very rude to not write back at all, after such a great experience up until then. So, to sum it up, I had a great fitting experience and highly recommend that (especially for the reasonable cost they charge for that), but be sure to look elsewhere when you purchase product. It's possible that you'll find it much, much cheaper for the same product. Take your results, custom measurements and club recommendations to the mass market. It saved me $500, which I could use to help fill out the rest of my bag. By the way, the clubs are wonderful and I'm getting better (which may not be saying much...). That won't be the case for every set, as they have some very, very customized and precise offerings, but just do some research before you purchase so that you're a well-informed buyer. Because I felt let down by the whole thing, I probably won't be going back or recommending it to others. That ruined the experience for me, after a really great, very personalized fitting that I had. My club fitter was Matt Daly. Matt was unbelievable. He was extremely professional and was able to tweak everything that popped up during the fitting (such as me getting gassed towards the end). I hit 201 shots in 2 hours (thanks for the bottle of water). PHEW! He was very personable and easy to talk to throughout the fitting. He simply walked me through everything and instead of just saying "here's the club, try this", he explained to me why and what the differences were and what we're looking for. Even when he had his back turned finding me a new club head, he could hear my shot and tell me what happened. I simply could not have asked for a better experience. In the middle of the club fitting you get a little break and you putt. This is designed to let you relax from swinging 100 times. There were many putters to choose from and since they had my putter there, it made it much easier to do a putter fitting. On a side note, it is beneficial to have your clubs at the fitting. After 7 putts, the computer told me which putter and which grip I should be using ... It was the putter and grip I had. I guess I made the right choice. But, my loft and lie needed to be adjusted because I bought it off the rack. Needless to say, my putter is in the mail today and will be back shortly. If I had to choose one word to describe my experience at Club Champion Golf it would be ... NECESSARY. If you play golf and want to improve your game, get fitted. I know all of us want to go in the store, walk out with a new set of clubs, and go play tomorrow while showing off our shiny new set of "off the rack" clubs. Good luck hitting them better than you would a Club Champion Club. The guys at Club Champion Golf are knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. This is a golf experience I will talk about for the rest of my life. read more

This place is awesome. I'm a mid handicap (8-10) and have never been that confident with the driver in my hand. I went in for a fitting (new shaft + driver head) and not only am I hitting more fairways as a result I've added over 20 yards of carry to my drive. I've been golfing for 50 years and never got fitted,,,,until today. Wish I did it 30 years ago! The last 30 years I've played on and off but not consistently until 2016 and I had been playing with a set I bought in 1985. In the fall of 2015 I went to Golfsmith and asked for a new set that wasn't expensive. I figured any set would be better than what I had. I bought Lynx Black Cat. Ok clubs for the occasional/beginner golfer who just wants to get out and play. Today I worked with Brad. Very smart, experienced golfer with a keen eye for what's right for you. The technology helps but I think his experience made the difference for me. Began with a conversation about what I intended to get out of today. I bought the full bag evaluation. I knew the Lynx were beginner clubs so I asked for something with the latest technology that would give me the best results based on my swing. Price is an issue for me so I made sure Brad understood I didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for clubs. He put me at ease and said they have a wide range of options so I was good. Hit some warmup shots with my 6 iron, then hit some for the Trackman (I think thats the name) program to establish my normal numbers. Then we began the process of elimination hitting different club heads with multiple shafts. There were so many we tried I can't tell you exactly how many, but each one told a different story all tracked for review later. At the end we reviewed the results and the numbers proved beyond a doubt, the club that felt the best also scored the best. The clubs I ordered today I would never have even looked at in a retail store. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Club Champion and Brad! Just do it and keep an open mind! read more

I went to CC back in October 2016. I went for a whole bag fitting, Brad was AWESOME! LOVE my new Taylormade M2 driver, Taylormade M2 hybrid and Mizuno irons and wedges. Came back today because I wasn't hitting my driver and hybrid as well as I would like. After 30 minutes Brad fixed both clubs for me and am a happy camper again. The service at CC is the BEST. I experienced a full bag fitting with Mike Nakayama on July 5, 2017. I received my fitted clubs last night and spent a couple of hours hitting them on the range today. The fitting exceeded my expectations and the delivered clubs are just awesome. Distance, consistency, and feel are all on the five star scale. I also am extremely happy with my "new" putter which had a 50 gram counter weight and 20 gram head weight added for stabilization. Great fitting. Night and day when you have the right equipment. Before steel shafts where invented if you wanted golf clubs they had to be custom made. They would also be one length. When they started mass production custom clubs became a thing of the past. Plus the shafts that come with most clubs are total garbage. Taylor made is probably the worst. Why would you spend 400 on a driver and have a shaft that costs 10 bucks! Yes it is costly but you can buy stuff on line or at golf smith and have club champ build it for ya. I went for a putter fitting -- Mike is extremely professional, very helpful. The data produced along with his evaluation resulted in me putting my current putter in storage and going back to one that I have used in the past. Mike tweaked the loft on it and also suggested maybe adding weight to the head -- in spite of the fact that I indicated that I was willing to purchase a new putter. I think that's amazing. The fitting was WELL worth the cost. Seeing how helpful it was to me, my husband also scheduled a putter fitting. The data, and Mike's evaluation, clearly indicated that none of the putters he owns were right for him. He did purchase a new putter that Mike ordered for him, based on the results of the fitting. Amazing, top notch experience at Club Champion, especially with Brad. Not only did he take the time to understand what my price points as desired were at the start of the session, but he also had me make minor tweaks to my swing to improve my game. I just had a fitting with Mike Storti at Club Champion, Deerfield. I did a 1.5hr iron fitting for $150. It seems like a lot of money but they are very thorough. After an initial conversation, I hit more shaft/iron combinations than I can remember. He did a great job of explaining all of the data during the entire process. Even though one brand was heads and tails above the rest for my swing, when the fitting was complete, he did not pressure me into buying the clubs from him. He gave me a fair price and upon doing me research, his price for my custom Titleist AP1's was cheaper than if I went to the PGA store or any other vendor. Mike even gives you his cell number for any questions you have once you leave. He answered a few of my questions through talk and/or text before I purchased my clubs (which I did 2 days after). I will be going back to Mike for a driver fitting later this season. read more

I am a huge fan of custom golf fittings. I just had my 16 year old son custom fitted by Club Champion in Northfield. Matt performed the fitting. Before I start about Club Champions performance, let me lay some ground work about my understanding about custom fitting. Prior to visiting club Champion I was searching for custom fitters who did frequency matching (older technology but still used) Shaft puring, custom loft and lies, custom grinds and so much more. Why? because the last fitter I used who was also a Top 100 fitter took the time to totally educate me on the importance of custom fitting, and the difference. His name is Lanny Correll of Dr. Golf in Myrtle Beach. Lanny has built over 10 sets for my family, including a set of Ping Eye 2 black dots for my son when he was 9. He used them until he was 15, and needed this new fitting due to body changes and strength. If anyone thinks that you can be fit by a "Dot, or color, removable shaft, sliding weights, metal tape, or one size fits all you are crazy. If this were the case, then why dosent every PGA, LPGA, Senior tour player go this route? why when they are being paid millions do they still go through a custom fit? Why? Because a perfectly fit club will make your misses or near misses the same every time and more tolerable to deal with. Custom fitting does not change your swing, it "fits your swing" without changing it. The retail store clubs are not even close to what the manufactures give the pros, colleges, or course professionals. These guys get the perks that most people cant buy without the custom fitting. The shafts are horrible. Can you take your numbers from a fitting and shop them with someone else for a lower price? Sure you can because that other person has zero time invested into your fitting. The fitter like Club Champion did all the work. No different that your business in sales. My son ended up with an unbelievable fitting at Club Champion and we fit him for what worked best for his swing. The best thing I liked, is that he ended up with what fit. Not a brand shoved down his throat, not an incentive to sell one brand over another, but what fit his swing, body style, tempo, ball, you name it. He got the entire fitting. Ended up in Miura 501 irons, Ping Hybrid, Taylor Made 3 wood, Tour velvet grips, and his old Nikent driver re-shafted. What his old driver? Yes because they said he hits it perfect, and they did not find a combination that he felt comfortable in. That's right they even talked to him about feeling comfortable and confident over the ball and looking at the club. Had I not found Club Champion I would have flown back to Myrtle beach to put my son through a top 100 club fitter and custom fitting. As Porsche said in a movie "There is no substitute" read more

I chose to get fitted at Club Champion due to their overwhelmingly positive internet reviews and was not disappointed in my choice. Mike took the time to understand why I was there and what I wanted to get out of a fitting. He guided me through the process as we sorted through shaft, club head and grip options. He displayed impressive knowledge throughout our meeting and was able to communicate technical details effectively. I was fitted for my entire bag during a business trip to Chicago. Rob did the fitting - he was great, very knowlegeable and spent the time to get it right. I came in somewhat skepticle, but left a believer. I gained a club length on the irons and significant distance off the tee. I went to the downtown CC for a fitting and to buy a driver on the recommendation of a friend of mine in Glenview. He suggested I go to the one in Northfield but because I live Downtown I went to the Ohio st One. WHAT A MISTAKE!!! Fitting was ok(only reason I gave them 2 stars) but the service for the price they sell their clubs was "BAD"!! Never called or email despite my asking specifically they do that. I was planning on fitting and buying irons,and wedges but now FORGET IT. I should have refused taking Driver but they already had My credit card for the fitting. Oh yes I had to ask for the driver wrench. My only regret is they will not be in business very long at least on Ohio ST since they are suppose to backup their club sales??
