Chesapeake Hot Yoga is located right off of Kempsville Rd. and since they are located in a plaza, there's plenty of parking which was nice. Our session started at 6:15pm so we all arrived a few minutes prior in order to check in and get set up for our 75 minute session. Once we put our belongings away, we entered the yoga room and it was pretty warm but bearable. The room was large and spacious so we were all able to spread out and have plenty of room to exercise. We brought our own yoga mats but towels were provided and I'm so glad they were. The more movements we made, the more I sweat. I was drenched from head to toe once it was over and my yoga mat was soaked by the end of the session lol. Thankfully, we were given a cold towel that was lavender scented to place on our heads to cool us down and it felt great. Overall, as intense as the warm temperatures were in the room, I would return in a heartbeat. Our instructor, Kali, was absolutely awesome. She was very patient and allowed us to go at our own pace. I love doing yoga and I highly recommend everyone give hot yoga a try, at least once.

I feel very safe in this space. You don't have to be an extreme Yogi, you can be a beginner, or trying to find your way during pregnancy. Although they don't have any prenatal classes incorporated, they do help you with different classes, like gentle flow, and restorative yoga, which is slow enough to help with pregnant women, but any class I'm sure you can go with your own pace, and just ask for More support pillows and blocks. Bathroom is clean, the temperature felt right, as well as there dispensers smelling good and relaxing! There are several different classes to choose from, and you can join by paying five dollars for two classes, and once you get your membership, you get the first week for free. If you are familiar with this part of Norfolk, you probably know that parking in this side of town can sometimes be challenge. There are about 4 parking spaces in front of the building or you can park across from it on the street. Booking was very simple and straight forward. Be prepared to pay for the service in it's entirety when booking. If you are booking as a couple, your guest will need to fill out the intake form in person because the online booking only allowed me to fill out one. Loved decor here. The Seafoam green gives it a nice touch and it matches their website. Super clean in here too. I had to use the restroom before we entered the sauna and I was very pleased with how neat and tidy it was We were directed to our room for the infared sauna. There are plenty of towels and robes for guests. I loved the sauna, it was really nice and relaxing for the both of us. The only thing that I didn't like was the little draft at the bottom of the door. This prevented the temperature from going up, but other than that, I felt amazing after. We will definitely be back.

Once I had changed and Kailey adjusted my headband I received a brief aromatherapy treatment. I've gotten plenty of facials before but this was the first time any aesthetician has ever done that. She placed the oil on her wrists and had me breathe deeply in and out before starting my service. It was the perfect touch because if you're like me, you're probably rushing to your appointments. My facial was amazing. This was my first service with Kailey but it won't be my last. She examined my skin before she began. I loved the fact that she answered all my questions and even gave my suggestions for different services to look into during the winter months. Extractions are always a love-hate experience for me but all of the congestion from my face was removed and my skin was so soft when I left. During the facial Kailey and I chatted about other treatments that would be great for my skin, how often I should be receiving facials, and my at-home routine. I'd also like to add that Kailey is a product wiz! When we were quarantined she helped me revamp my entire skin routine. I think we all dealt with maskne but I also believe my diet and stress caused my skin to go into panic or something. Kailey and I texted and talked over the phone about my skin and its needs. My whole regimen got a much-needed facelift and my skin is doing so much better. Anytime she recommends something for me (and no she doesn't sell products so no gimmicks there) I get it! Since then I have had minimal (and I mean minimal) breakouts and the texture of my skin has improved drastically. We're currently working on tone and hyperpigmentation and I'm excited to see those results. I'll be returning for another facial with Kailey at Get Well Soon the next time I'm back home. At some other studios, I've noticed that the teachers kind of rush through the classes, but the instructors here take their time, walking around the class and helping students get into alignment safely. Meaghan and Gil, the owners, are the most lovely people! They make sure to remember your name and keep up with you. They are easily some of the best instructors I've ever practiced under. As for the studio itself, it has 2 rooms in which to practice. The parking lot is a bit small, but it's to be expected due to the urban setting. They do have lots where overflow parking can go though. The only thing that makes me sad is that they don't offer that many classes, but they will be adding some soon due to the recent graduating instructors. I'm so excited!!!

This clarity allows students to more fully delve into their own yoga practice and to find the joy in their practice, both on the mat and in their daily life. It is through this grounding, clearer sense of self that students are then able to share the potential of yoga by guiding other students on their own journeys.

If you have not done any hot exercise (hot yoga, etc) in the past, you may not feel great after your first workout - but that's because the toxins are leaving your body! Bring plenty of water (in a closely container, no open straws!) and a towel. They provide special heat resistant mats for the isometric classes (Pilates, barre, yoga just to name a few), and also offer high intensity classes such as cycling or rowing. I had a great experience doing the barre class. There is a virtual instructor on the screen guiding you through the poses. You can also schedule your own sessions via the mobile app - it's very easy to either schedule solo visits or with up to 2 friends in the same class. Also a benefit: 24 hour access to members, to fit their individual needs. Definitely a great place to promote your health and sweat it out!

After doing all three, I believe the it's the same temperature for all classes. Each class I've gone to were pretty full. I don't know if it's the way the room is structured in an L and not a square/rectangle or the windows being covered by curtains and I could see outside some... I was mentally distracted in that place. This may be a me thing. Instructors were really good. I did go to a FUNdamentals class on 6/26 (whoever was teaching that day) I absolutely enjoyed it. He gave excellent cues that really helped me. Any instructor that gives good cues to help visualize a pose is a win in my books. All classes were a good workout. You will come out sweaty and feeling glad you went. This is a contender in my books to sign up for membership.
