In fact, the hand soap in the bathroom has gotten worse (stinky orange industrial liquid soap was used to refill a plastic equate soap bottle), and there are zero amenities in the restrooms (no lotion, spray deodorant, tampons, hair bands, etc.), which other studios have. There also tends to be a sewage smell that wafts through by the restrooms -- it could be the plumbing in general, but if candles were lit in the front of the studio it would help with the smell. Compared to other OTF studios (Rock Hill, Des Peres, CWE... and even other cities like Nashville, KCMO, HTX, ATX, Memphis, Nola) it's just lacking. The management could and should invest back into their members with some of these basic needs... as members pay a significant amount each month to use the space and work with the coaches.

I appreciated the cubbies for personal items and the shoe trays. Holly taught my Classic class, and she was fantastic. Her energy was contagious, her cues were clear, and she provided both hands-on corrections and verbal encouragement throughout class. We worked the entire body, with a strong emphasis on the core, and I definitely felt the burn. As a Pilates instructor, I appreciate thoughtful movement instruction, and Holly delivered a challenging, well-balanced workout. I'm so happy I decided to come back, and I plan to make Pure Barre part of my weekly routine.

Don't believe all the 5-star reviews, they solicit these with give-aways and raffles. Notice many of the reviews are from accounts that rarely ever review (especially on Google). Exploitative Membership Terms: If you want to buy more than a drop in class, PLNK puts you on auto renew / bill when you sign up, then restricts your ability to cancel in advance of the next billing cycle (must request in email 10 days in advance of the billing date).This keeps you locked in. Additionally, they heavily restrict the booking window on their passes. Classes are always booked out two weeks in advance. So, you're stuck with class passes you can't use, which then expire. This has happened to me on numerous occasions and at $30-35/class this really hurts. Excessive Penalties: They also penalize you with an extra $20 fee in addition to the $35 class fee you if you don't show up, and $15 fee if you cancel within 24 hours. They then take your space and give it to someone on the waitlist. If that person isn't there in person to take your spot when you no-show or last minute cancel, they are also charged a no-show fee. This is how they turn a $35 seat in their class into a $90+ seat. Negligent / Hostile Management: You aren't allowed to speak or interact with management -- they cite personal safety concerns (??) -- and instead put all the responsibility for dealing with guest complaints to their front desk staff who are unpaid interns. If you do manage to reach management via their anonymously maintained studio email addresses, they will gaslight you and and threaten you with being banned from the studio. I had this experience first hand and their harassment continued after I cancelled my membership and left the studio. Poor Quality Instruction / Injury Risk Finally, the quality of the instruction in low with teachers turning over really quickly and minimal training. Many teachers either are unable to or were not trained to describe the physiology of the movements, instead relying on branded names for each, and assuming you know it. When you look around the studio you always see many people looking confused and looking at each other for guidance. The risk of injury is high here.

I bought an unlimited one month pass because I practice daily and am home for winter break from college. This is unfortunate because after my three terrible visits, I no longer ever want to step foot into this facility again. I was unfortunate enough to attend classes with Lynn and Chris. Lynn's classes were boring and redundant and even dangerous. At my first class with her, she asked around if anyone had any injuries, to which I have a stress fracture on my foot and several yogis had shoulder injuries. With this information she still made it a point to include intensive poses for one legged balance and shoulder stands. Why did she even ask if she wasn't going to change her class to fit our needs? I attended two classes with her in total, and every one of her classes are the same. Same poses, slightly different order. She also likes to spat out sanskrit without giving her students a clear indication as to what it could mean, which is just plain pretentious. Chris started off the class stating that in order to have a true practice, we must follow our flow the way we feel we should have it---that is, to form our unique practice. Whenever I diverged from whatever pose or sun salutation she wanted us to do and did my own variation for it, she would lash out and verbally draw attention to me (or other students who were also deviating), stating that I needed to do exactly as she said and not to "disrespect the sacred flow". I have had many, many more experienced instructors than her, and never had I had anyone do the exact same vinyasa nor force one onto their students. As far as hot yoga goes, Lynn doesn't even teach in a hot environment, and I would hardly call an 85 degree room "hot". If they want to advertise their yoga to be hot, it should be 100 degrees or hotter. The rooms are nicely decorated and painted for a soothing visual experience, however, the walls have sweat marks from students, and the floor in the "hot" room is carpeted which retains unpleasant odors. They offer complimentary hot tea, which is very nice, and their facility is tidy. Yogasource offers $1 mat and towel rentals. There is no indication that they sanitize their mats.

Members spend enough time working out without having to tour the entire gym looking for equipment that was left somewhere else. When I mentioned that the equipment should be put back where it came from, Sharon's professional response was to tell me to "mind your own business" and that "it doesn't matter" where the equipment is returned. Interesting philosophy. I wonder if LifeTime feels that way, too. You can almost understand when an occasional member leaves equipment lying around. But when it's an employee--someone who's literally being paid to teach good habits--it's a masterclass in hypocrisy. Maybe the next training package should include a session called "How to Return Equipment 101." It's a short class: pick it up, walk it back, and put it where you found it. For a club that markets itself as a luxury fitness experience, I'd expect trainers to set the example--not encourage members to lower their standards. Apparently, "mind your own business" is now considered customer service.

I have really liked the other locations this one was a little tight in my opinion with less space for the instructors to move around. This instructor put out weights which was a fun change of pace but I found mine were mismatched during the first exercise. It took several times of me waving at her for her to notice I needed help but she swapped them out quickly once she came over to talk to me. Otherwise it was a great heavy workout that day and I enjoyed it.
