I have joined for a week now! Absolutely love all the instructors so far. Trust me--save yourself the money and frustration! This place is all about overbooking to take your money, and then you'll never get into the classes you want. I signed up hoping for an engaging and supportive environment, but the instructors don't even bother correcting positioning or ensuring that people are doing exercises safely or effectively. I've never once been corrected, even though I know I'm not perfect in my form--shouldn't that be part of the service here? And the instruction is lacking. One instructor, Eugenia, is almost impossible to follow. She doesn't break down movements; instead, it's just a barrage of instructions that are hard to understand. I joined in March and was really enjoying it. Great instructors! At the end of April they offered me a deal if I pay for a whole year and I took it. I paid them $3,050. I went on vacation for a week and when I got back I noticed that 2 1/2 weeks of my classes disappeared and my app said that I didn't have any credits. He tried to add classes but of course there was only a couple available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I couldn't get on the waitlists because my app wasn't working. He said he'd call someone "above him". I said, wait, I'm paying double then! Crickets. I say it again. Crickets. Then I say, do you think it's ok that I'm paying double? He's says he has to talk to someone else. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I call him because he never calls back and he says why don't you come in on Wednesday before class and we'll figure it out. I got there 15 minutes early and he didn't show up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ugh [[HIGHLIGHT]]Long story short...he figured it out after 8 days.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then I asked him to send me an updated membership. He sends it to me and it says it expires June of 2025. I actually paid for 13 months and it should have been 2026! The whole freakin' thing would have happened all over again if I didn't catch that. Then some of my classes start getting cancelled and then they cancelled all classes on Saturdays. I finally got him to send me a refund and I cancelled my membership. The classes were okay for the most part. Sandra was my favorite. She had the most challenging classes that actually felt like a workout but were also organized. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Eugenia is rude and condescending.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Unfortunately, I was limited to weekends and evenings, and she was the only instructor for most of those times.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I didn't enjoy going to her classes at all but didn't have any other options.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also, I couldn't book a class for weeks in advance because they would fill up. I would be waitlisted.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Many times I would be pulled off the waitlist the day of, but then when I couldn't make it after all, I would be charged a late cancellation fee. So I was paying unlimited monthly prices, but only able to go maybe twice a week and then I was charged cancellation fees on top of that. Furthermore, they mislead their clients by promising something they can't deliver. I tried to resolve this issue calmly and simply asked for a refund. So, she is unable to make the other, very limited times that they do have because of her work schedule. And, they will not let her cancel the membership. They want to charge her for 3 months. DO NOT JOIN the membership. They are treating you like their bank account... I initially liked this studio despite some disorganization because of the good instructors. However, their service has fallen far below acceptable standards. Here's why: 1. Incorrect No-Show Fees: I was repeatedly charged no-show fees even though I attended the classes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I disputed these charges, all my pre-booked class schedules were suddenly removed from the system, making it impossible for me to attend classes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Given that bookings need to be made a month in advance, this was extremely frustrating. 2. Poor Customer Support: [[HIGHLIGHT]]I reached out via email and phone to resolve this, but they only responded via email and insisted my schedules were removed because I hadn't paid my membership.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This made no sense, as they had been auto-charging my credit card for membership fees (and the disputed no-show fees) all along. 3. Unfair Treatment: When I decided to cancel my membership due to these issues, they claimed I hadn't paid for three months of membership and all the fees because I refuted the charges. And I cannot cancel my membership because of it. In reality, I only disputed the no-show fees and hidden charges. My credit card company confirmed all valid charges were paid and out from my bank account. And this is why this place is like a scam. Their untruthful services have been really frustrating the members like me. This experience has been incredibly disappointing. Please note that the one 5 star review for this business is completely unrelated to the business and when I reported it to Yelp they said it doesn't violate their policies . Just want to share that because that one 5 star review is skewing the reviews more positive for this business. I like the instructors I've had there so far (Marcella and Diana) but this location wasn't willing to waive the $15 cancellation fee when I opted not to go when I woke up with a scratchy throat. Given the demand and typical 8+ person long wait list for classes they would have been able to fill the spot with the 1.5-2 hours I gave them. Maybe they even did. It left me with a really bad taste in my mouth to be charged the late fee under those circumstances. I emailed to ask about waiving the fee and they said no because it's an automatic charge (I find it hard to believe they couldn't refund me if that was the case). Hopefully others don't choose to attend when they are sick--their policies sure don't support people prioritizing their wellness and the health of others. Ironic given what the business is. Others have mentioned this but you have to book classes at least 3 weeks out-- clearly there is a demand but instead of going to this location I would go to other Club Pilates locations. I like Willow Glen's and I haven't been to Saratoga yet but I plan to try it out. The two stars is only because I really like the teachers. So in the unlikely situation that you are able to book a class here less than 3 weeks out I will say you will at least be in good hands with the instructors. Although if I were the instructors I would go teach elsewhere--I'd actually consider following the instructors I've had if they were to leave for greener pastures. It's such a bummer. Wow. Despite all the bad reviews, I must say this place is actually the best Club Pilates location I've ever been to. First of all, this studio looks and feels better than others - it is way fancier than the other locations. The room is very spacious. When you come in, it doesn't feel like they hassle you (tho I felt like that at other CP locations). [[HIGHLIGHT]]The person at the reception (I forgot his name) is always professional, friendly, and competent.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]In my experience with other CP studios, they tend to have staff at the reception who are not on the brighter side; oftentimes, they're not able to comprehend simple questions. This is something I have not liked about CP in general. I am an extremely frustrated client. The studio opened this week, but it is impossible to book any classes unless they are three weeks out. And by that time, it is close to renewal of my membership, and there is no rollover of credit. I am led to believe this club oversold its memberships, and I get very stressed out when I see every class has 7 to 10 people waitlisted . If you are added to a waitlist, you will be in limbo till the hour before not knowing if you will make it or not. You need to be extremely flexible to drop everything you're doing and go to the class if you make it past the waitlist. this policy really screws over customers because they have to be waiting on a waitlist and make last-minute plan to go to the class. Club Pilates, you need to allow people to roll over credits in the first two months of grand openings to allow people to get to classes and experience Pilates stress free . In time this will be a great studio. New, clean and friendly staff. Having a monthly membership is difficult. You can only book your 8 classes within the time period and there are 12 to 15 on some waitlists. Plus there's not enough classes per week at the moment. I know members will leave or stop the monthly membership being unable to book. All but one class was too low key, not much of a workout. There was a guest instructor from LA that was amazing where I thought maybe I'd keep my membership going another month, but when I found out he was only there for two weeks I knew it was time to stop. I wish them the best and may pop in paying full price per class once they get it more together. read more
