Gentle Hatha Yoga with Jane Meldrum may be one of my favorite yoga experiences ever! I greatly appreciate the early morning start time, and it's a beautiful way to start each weekend. The door of this place is very colorful and fun. Studio is very clean, comfortable, and welcoming. There are cubbies to place your belongings. They have extra mats in case you forget yours (like I did...). The bathroom is clean and spacious. I did the one hour pour hour class and it was just what I needed. A good mix of workout, stretch, and relaxation. Caitlin is an excellent instructor. I enjoy instructors that find that happy medium of pushing you a little, but at the same time making you feel comfortable doing what you can. I LOVE the colorful lights on the ceiling and also the use of essential oils in the end (if you want, you can opt out of the oil). My body and mind feel very good after this class. Great experience!!!

The clientele here are people who are looking for a good workout. The instructors aren't ex-ballerinas/actors (that I'm aware of) that are looking for their next chapter. Everyone is so real. As someone who lives in NYC and gets a healthy exposure of boutique fitness that is 25% for the workout and 75% for instagram, I fully appreciate that change in studio attitude. I have loved all the instructors at this B3 but I specifically love Rebecca's classes. They're challenging, different each time, and motivating. Motivation is why I keep coming back to Rebecca's classes because she has mastered how to provide suggestions/modifications without seeming condescending, something I have seen many fitness instructors outside of B3 fall culprit to. Alas, she is amazing and I hope to take many more of her classes in the future. I always think about the name of the song she uses for the series where you sumo squat and then slam your hands down to push back each leg individually and repeat. I always crave that song when I get in her classes!

I am dismayed to feel the need to write a negative review, but for my fellow health seeker, I feel…read morethe need to share my negative experience in working with Debra Weinstein, owner of the South Street Yoga & Nutrition center. In September, I paid Debra $395 for a package of 3 'Clinical Nutrition' sessions. To make things simpler and because I don't want to expend any further energy on this, I am going to copy & paste my final email to Debra, which I sent today after she cancelled our final session last minute, which explains succinctly my experience: Debra, The link you sent previously initiated an error. You can try for yourself. The one you sent here does work. To suggest that I am having issues with my emails is unkind and simply not true. I find your communications in general (in person and especially online) to be rude and have been generally discontented by your lack of professional follow through. To date, I have not received ANY follow up emails or resources from you since the onset of our work together. Of our two appointments thus far, you emailed me once to remind you when our appointment was, and then today you cancelled. Today is the first time you have sent any resources related to our session. Mostly though, I have found it insensitive that you have not, until this last email, even made a mention of the issues I recently discovered with my health. I will be following up with a review of your business on yelp. As far as not being willing to disseminate information on cholesterol for example to a client (me) who has provided confidential medical information to indicate as such, is negligible. In my field, if I had a client who stated that had depressive symptoms, for example, and I did nothing about that, that would be negligible. To provide a client with basic psycho education would be a minimally acceptable intervention. I will not be scheduling our last session. I will google what I need or ask a doctor. You may also pass along my 5 yoga sessions to someone else in need. Sayrah -- A portion of her response to my above email was as follows: "Do as you must-I was anticipating your negative review so go for it!  My schedule and studio are filled and I sleep at night knowing I have helped people and will continue to do so.  Your threats are of no interest at all-" -- So utterly disappointing and unprofessional. Not the way I expected a licensed professional and certainly an owner of a yoga studio to treat ANYONE. If I wasn't parenting a young child and also dealing with a health issue, I might actually pursue a small claims lawsuit (that would be an actual threat Debra, of which I did not make) to obtain a refund for my final session, but alas, I am taking the more yogic path of non violence and simply doing my best to communicate my discontent in a public forum so no one else has to experience what I did.

Foremost - I refer back to Denise's instruction, tips, and posture corrections frequently. I have still (and there have been many, so many) not found a studio that was as watchful and helpful with posture, etc since C2C. I am astounded at the number of Pilates Instructors that dont emphasize posture & form... it's the most important part! There is a true commitment in this studio to build the strongest, most healthy body and spirit. I become more and more appreciative of the kind environment, and incredible instruction I received from Denise and her C2C studio through every new studio I visit. If there were online classes, I'd be the first to sign up. Best and most professionally run studio, still. I could probably go on for hours.
