We arrived…read moreabout ten minutes early and found the entranceway to the speakeasy by the clue given which was such a cool experience. Once in the restaurant, we went to the bar and got their amazing Golden Gatsby cocktail. It was sweet and fruity and had a nice kick to it. The bartender made great drinks our entire visit. I also got an old fashioned which was great. We ordered the beef wellingtons minis and the duck confit tacos which were very yummy. There were not a lot of people there at all. It was us and another couple. We did not have any long wait times at all which was one of the reasons I chose an earlier reservation time not a time later in the afternoon. The ambiance was perfect for date night and the vibe was very intimate. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic evening with their significant other!

There's a stark difference between their drinks and somewhere like city club or colonels club. The quality and craft of the drinks are night and day. This place just doesn't have it figured out when it comes to quality and knowing how to make the drinks. HOWEVER, we went without a reservation and the lady went above and beyond to get us in. Service was great but slow.

Perfect for a date night or weekend because you can enjoy the delicious craft cocktails and then just walk to your room without having to call Uber. The lemondrop martinis with flavors of strawberry & blueberry were amazing! Perfect taste! Beer was cold! The place is dimly lit which sets a mysterious, sexy vibe! Yes, I recommend this place. Yes, oh yes, Dark 30, yes! A dark bar after my dark little heart. How could I resist stopping in…read morewhen doing a search for cocktails in the area? Impossible. Let's start with ambiance. It's what will lure you in, with a small sidewalk patio that's perfectly inviting (perhaps less so on a 90 degree night) and then you walk in and hit dark nirvana with black walls, stunning patterned accent walls and amber fixtures and lighting. An enormous, really cool chandelier hangs from the very high ceiling. I could probably stay here forever (and I haven't even gotten to the drinks yet). The bartender was really nice, offered us wifi right away so we could use the QR code. I knew I wanted a sparkling rose and she recommended one for me. Then, because my husband asked about mezcal, she made him a cocktail that she's testing out for the menu. On the sweeter side, but delicious and beautifully concocted (I felt fancy as I drank it). Wall art! Oh yes, it's beautiful, too. I particularly admired two huge framed portraits of black cats dressed in finery. Seating is at the large bar or at a number of small cocktail tables lining the wall. What a surprise lurking in sleepy Downtown Baton Rouge. While it's been a while since I've been here, it's in a league of its own in an area that you'll be more likely to find sports bars.

Not the "Happy" place it used to be…read more After I casually asked whether the karaoke microphone could be sanitized between singers, because I once got COVID after using a shared karaoke mic, the staff seemed irritated and the tone toward me changed noticeably from that point on. After being treated poorly inside, I went outside to a large open area and was singing to myself, not bothering anyone. One of the managers then came outside yelling and shockingly, threatened to call the police if I did not leave. What made the situation even more upsetting was that I was completely sober and trying to find my glasses because of my low vision issues and disabilities. I also had my large purse with me. Instead of allowing me a reasonable moment to collect myself, locate my glasses, and gather my purse, staff continued yelling and said they did not care whether I had my things or not -- I had to leave. The situation felt unnecessarily aggressive, humiliating, and unsafe. I was not causing a disturbance, and what began as a simple health-related request turned into being treated like a problem. I used to think of this as a fun, welcoming place, but this experience left me feeling disrespected, intimidated, and unwelcome. Apparently disabled people are not welcome at O'Hara's.
