I'm typically a creature of habit and hate experimenting when I'm hungry, but I've definitely ventured out of my comfort zone with trying different items, and have not been disappointed thus far. The waitstaff are pleasant, friendly, and accommodating. As other reviewers have said, the atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. The garlic knots come with two surprises - they're about double the size you'd expect (so an order of two will be as big as an order of four anywhere else), and they are not overpowered with garlic. Tried a midweek lunch stop last week. They have a late lunch/happy hour that starts that 3pm and ends at 6pm. I was able to try the meatballs, mozzarella sticks, and a Caesar salad. Overpriced mediocrity. I have been here twice over the last 3 months. The pizza sits in its own grease in very small plastic plates. They're not very big for specialty pizzas and twice the dine-in is just a soggy mess. Definitely not worth the price charged. Tonight, I had a Italian hero and the bread was stale. It was over stuffed with meat that was not grilled. We had a server I had to ask for three refills. She had no ability to juggle a huge party. I also had to ask for a condiment with my fries. It was 50 dollars for tomato heirloom salad, an Italian sub that was horribly stale, a Diet Coke that would not have been refilled if I didn't ask, and condimentless fries. The fish was crisp and blended perfectly with the rice. I also had the brussel sprouts. Very delicious but the serving is large so plenty to share. My dinner companion ordered the chicken parmigiana served over a bed of linguine in vodka sauce. Had a taste and it was very delicious. Star of the show was the garlic knots. The knots had a croissant texture stuffed with herbs. It's served with a whipped provolone dip. Think savory cheese in the form of cool whip. Pizza toppings are inventive, but ours was centered in the center with a LOT of crust surrounding. Tasty, but a bit disappointing. We're fans of wood fired pizzas and have sampled quite a few. This one was good, but not outstanding. The biggest disappointment was the chocolate desert. Just a little gelatin in the bottom of a plastic cup. Meh. The food and drinks were absolutely (almost- no damn near) perfect! The only upsetting thing was how burnt half my pizza was, which I love some toasty crust but this was burnt to the crust (ha! Get it? Burnt to a crisp but burnt to the crust instead HA! The restaurant was kind of dark but I enjoyed it, it really set the mood for me and my date (and by mood I mean the type of mood where you stuff a whole pizza-if it's not burnt to a crust- in your mouth and don't care who watches you devour it, type of mood.) The service was so so so SOOOOO good. I consistently saw the staff hustling and bustling throughout the brief moments I took my eyes off my beautiful food (yes even the crispy pizza was still shamelessly beautiful) . My friend had the frozen French 75, which maintained a perfect balance between citrusy and sweet. For our appetizer, we went with the four garlic knots. It ought to be a crime how good these things were!! If you dip them in their garlic/chimichurri sauce AND the whipped provolone, you will ascend to a higher level of existence. I wish I were exaggerating. For entrees, I chose the veal piccata pasta, and my friend chose the stuffed vodka cannelloni pasta. This was my first time eating veal, and I'm happy to say that Rocca perfected the craft for this piccata. My friend loved her pasta as well. 10/10, will order again. The restaurant itself was very clean and had a comfortable atmosphere. Still, one of the best parts of our dining experience was our service from Lexi. She was so kind and personable.
