Traveling Tails Inn offers daycare, dog training, basic grooming (they no longer offer haircuts), and boarding for dogs. We regularly have JP attend day care or boarding when we are out of town. Rates are very reasonable and the facilities are clean, bright, and open. Video cameras are live so that you can watch your pooch via an app. Our favorite part is that Traveling Tails Inn allows the dogs to form a pack in an open space during the day. Our dog comes home tired and happy. It gives him a break from his instinctual need to "protect" our house and from walking on a leash in St. Louis. We couldn't be happier with Traveling Tails Inn.

She also asked me several questions about our dog and took notes. I could tell instantly that she is a dog lover. While we were gone, she sent me photos of him and gave me updates. He was much happier sleeping in a home (vs an outdoor kennel) and she even provided the dogs an outside kiddie pool to enjoy. When I picked him up, she seemed genuinely sad to see him go. Normally, he jumps up on me when I've returned to a boarding businesses to retrieve him as he is so happy to go home. This time, he was very calm and took his time hopping into my vehicle. Unfortunately they couldn't squeeze her in and recommended an emergency clinic. My vet is in STL and since I now live on the Eastside of the river, I choose Hawthorne. When I looked at the reviews on Yelp, I became concerned, but I needed a vet fast. I called, told them the issues and they said, to come on in. Wow, the staff was so attentive and caring to me and my fur-baby when we arrived. We were promptly escorted to an exam room and the vet tech was professional and thorough in asking questions to help us resolve the problem my dog was having. When the vet came to the exam room, she was very loving to my baby and explained what they determined the health issue to be. It was what I thought it was, she had an abscessed tooth. What impressed me was, how they coordinated care with my regular vet. I had my vet on the phone and as a team we all worked to see who could get her in for the tooth extraction the fastest. My vet could get her in the fastest. To make things easier for me and my vet, Hawthorne offered to do the prep bloodwork and send it to my vet. We both appreciated that. When I lived in STL, I had multiple emergency clinics to choose from when a need would arise. Now on the Eastside, there are not that many to choose from, but if there were, I'd still choose Hawthorne. I was impressed with the service and care I received and I am a picky dog dad.

His normal place sent him a last minute email that they had accidentally overbooked and he would be waitlisted. By last minute, I mean 30 mins before we were going to leave and drop him off. In a panic, we found Country Acres, who was able to take him last minute. They are incredible kind and patient, despite us getting every piece of information wrong. We knew his pup was in good hands, because all of the handlers we met were so nice and understanding, and at pick up explained he had actually ran out of food in the morning and they supplemented. The facility is extremely well maintained, offers additional services to really make your furry family member feel at home or pampered.

I called Fairview Heights Animal Clinic and Laura was so helpful getting me scheduled as soon as she could. When we arrived with our dog she took us right in as she knew our dog was in pain. Megan the Vet tech and Laura explained the process, costs, etc. and they really cared about our dogs comfort and ours as well during his last moments. The Vet Dr was extremely caring as well.
